There are plenty of places to eat in San Antonio near the Riverwalk, unfortunately most of them are overpriced, and they almost always cater to the tourists. Head over to the Mercado instead if you want something that is at least interesting.
Once there, check out the food court — true, it isn’t much different than the food courts of other malls, except for the Spanish Elvis, the food stalls serve things you aren’t likely to see in any other mall, the staff is friendly and you come away feeling like you actually had something decent to eat. Well worth the short walk.

Came here due to good reviews on Unilocal.While the food was quite good, I can’t say it was properly judged die to the extremity of my hunger. We had a group of 16 who paid with separate bills. Each one waited for at least an hour or more. While being short staffed can often be forgiven, the lady should have offered us free refills due to the extremely long wait.
I got the double gordita plate which was decent. My mother also liked her rancheros plate. Will I come back? Probably not

We always get a snack here whenever we are in town visiting the Mercado. Excellent French fries and great service. The prices are reasonable. Stay away from the margaritas; they seem to lack alcohol.

Excellent food! Rice and beans were perfect! My husband ordered the carne guisada and I ordered the chicken flautas, we both loved it! They have burgers and chicken Tenders for the kids also! The lemonade was very good as well!

what ever you do do not get the nachos worst ever unless you like cold cheese. Gorditas tacos and burgers were good, they better have been had to wait for 40 min for fast food thought they had to chase down the cow to get the beef
