I really enjoy coming here. I love the atmosphere, the music and the food is to die for. Shrimp enchiladas… Yum. It’s just a little Mexican restaurant tucked away in a corner. If you blink you’ll miss it. I suggest you don’t. Reasonably priced.

My wife had the Tilapia and I had the Shrimp Tacos. The service was fantastic the food was great. San Antonio is loaded with cruddy Mexican joints and I can assure you that this is one of the better Mexican places.

The Ceviche Mixto(shrimp and fish) with Pico de Gallo was properly cooked in lemon and lime juice… a generous serving for two. This was followed by crayfish breaded and fried, atop french fries, cooked to perfection. I plan to go back for the seafood soup(Caldo de Mariscos) cuz it’s bound to be yummy.

went their for lunch with my wife and I had the Fish Soup and she had the Talapia Jack, both were very good and packed with flavor. The fish soup was a simple clean broth with carrots and celery but the flavor profile was complex, and the talapia jack was blackened with a crawfish cream sauce… I was half tempted to lick my wife’s plate when she was done: D

Our first time. Resturant was clean and nicely decorated. Waiter was pleasant. we shared a boiled shrimp plate and thats all we got — boiled shrimp! No cocktail/tartar sauce. Still good and fresh thou. I had the catfish spinch mushroom shrimp plate — yummy and my wife had the fried catfish/shrimp plate — she did not like hers and left ¾ there! Ice tea tasted funny. we ordered coke and it still tasted funny — we think they had some bad ice… overall the place was okay

We finally tried this place on a Friday afternoon. Simply put, it was fantastic. I had seen this restaurant as I’ve driven by it in the past few years, and I always thought it would be similar to the seafood restaurants on the West Side. It is not. Puerto Vallarta Seafood is really an amalgam of Mexican coastal cuisine and Cajun cooking from New Orleans. Everything(except the iced tea) was excellent — the catfish fillets, hush puppies, ceviche. The French fries were incredible! The Shrimp Mardi Gras was awesome.(The ceviche could use some avocado to change it up a bit.) The ambience is pleasant — with a maritime theme that I liked — lots of booths and tables. If you want to pay double for fresh seafood and listen to 300 people chatter, go to Pappadeaux. If you want a homier, relaxed, and very reasonably-priced meal, go to Puerto Vallarta Seafood. Personally, I’d change the name to reflect the range of cuisine they offer. At any rate, I highly recommend this place, and I look forward to dining there again soon.

Love this place! The Cajun flavors and deliciously prepared seafood will make you come back for more. The service is always good, the food is plentiful, and the prices are very reasonable. If you are in the mood for Cajun cuisine or just want some good seafood, you must try this restaurant. The Fat Tuesday fondue is amazing — just be sure to bring along a few friends to help you finish this appetizer off, or order it instead of a dinner plate!

Not on the menu? I wistfully asked for calamari over pasta and the next thing I knew they created it for me. Sauté calamari, mushrooms and white sauce over linguine… absolutely wonderful. The staff was handling a large group with ease and humor. Everyone had something different and everyone was more than pleased. I’m denfinately going back.

I went there today in search a gotta have shrimp cocktail, I’m fairly new to SA and am having a hard time finding one. Well while I was exploring, I came across this place, I was literally in and out within 20 minutes. Lol. I ordered my drink and my food which came out so quickly, it was almost as if they knew what I would be ordering before I came in. Lol! The chips were stale, hot sauce was ok. When the cocktail came out, I ordered the campechana, it looked tasty, but lacked flavor as well as shrimp. There was plenty of oysters in there. The sauce was very bland, I kept having to add salt and tabasco sauce to give it flavor. On a bright side, the hour chats was good.

I don’t know anywhere else in town where you can get calamari and ceviche… that said, its not the best seafood in town. We ordered the ceviche and the waitress mistakingly overheard us talking about the calamari and brought us out an order of that as well. The ceviche was good, but very simple. It was more like an order of pico de gallo with lemon and fish chunks. Not the best I’ve had, but certainly not the worst. They got some extra points on this one because the ceviche came with saltines as well as tortilla chips. The calamari was on par with how I thought it would be coming out of a mexican seafood kitchen. Some of the pieces were very good, and some of the pieces were a bit chewy and rubbery. I ordered a plate that included one piece of fried catfish, two fried oysters, and two fried shrimp over french fries. Again, not the worst I’ve eaten, but everything seemed pretty bland. The real test would come the next day and, luckily, we didn’t get sick. Eating here makes me long for the days of El Tejano that used to occupy this location. The décor inside is VERY tacky(and not in a good way) with plastic shells and fish hung on the walls and caught in nets. The service was lacking also as there was a big language barrier. I know we live in San Antonio, but a little english would be nice. Needless to say, I probably won’t be back because for the money, the service and food is better elsewhere.
