Today I went here for lunch for the first time. The place looks good to me. I ordered the Vermicelli grilled chicken. It is good and I enjoyed it. I will return to this restaurant. I do recommend it. I also learned today that many other employees from my place of work like to come here for lunch.

My boyfriend and I came here after reading the reviews. Needless to say, we walked in and were the only customers. As the only customers… We were pretty shocked to find that they completely forgot to bring out one of the phở we ordered. My boyfriend and I ordered 2 phở &2 banh mi. We only got 1 phở and 2 banh mi. One of the banh mi literally had a stick of butter slabbed onto the bread. It wasn’t spread, it wasn’t melted or even soft. I got the phở chin bo vien(beef brisket & meat balls). They brought out the phở with the«herbs» which was only the mung bean sprouts and cilantro… No basil. The broth had a weird peppery taste, the meatballs were so rubbery that it squeaked between my teeth when I was chewing. The brisket which is supposed to be thin cut was over-cooked and thick slices. This was a huge disappointment. If you’re looking for an authentic Vietnamese place, avoid this place at all cost.

I thought the Phở was a bit heavy on the star anise compared to what I’m used to. The rare steak was different than what I’m used to in Cali where here it was much thicker and not so rare when it came out. Regardless, it tasted fine and I enjoyed the dish. I ordered the egg roll(just 1… I know should’ve just ordered 3 but I’m on a diet!) and it was served cold :(but it had good flavor and I think would’ve tasted much better if served hot. I saw others order the 3 egg roll order and saw that it was a bit different and seemed to have been served hot so maybe you should just order these instead of 1 egg roll. The food really deserves 3 stars compared to other Phở joints outside of San Antonio but the service was great and friendly so I’ll give it 4 stars overall.

I had the beef & meatball phở and it was awesome. Also had a plate of dumplings and they were great too. Friendly staff. Decent prices. They also have Bahn Mi. I’d eat here again.

Need more employees, servers are in the back helping cooks and preps, which is slowing down the service here. The food is good pretty similar like any Vietnamese restaurant in San Antonio. I’d recommend the place just not during lunch hours. Food came out fast once I ordered it but they were stumped with customers and forgot about some including myself.

The food is delicious and fresh! I would not have expected a Vietnamese Restaurant in the area so this is definitely a little best kept secret. The service was great and the owner very hospitable. My coworkers also loved it. I will be back again as everything looked amazing. The restaurant was exceptionally clean as were the rest rooms. So glad I have options for fantastic and healthy food, the Pad Thai Chicken was so good and I loved their tea, it wasn’t out of a can but could tell it was freshly brewed. The gentlemen behind our table had amazing huge authentic soups with fresh vegetable’s, can’t wait to come back!!!

Solid phở for the area. The best part? The amazing staff. Super sweet and accommodating. If I’m ever in the area for rotation will definitely come back.

Place is awesome, food is excellent the price is even better. It’s a mom and pop restaurant so you know the food is going to be close to homemade. The service is great and food comes out quick.

Ish was daaaaaaaaank never in my life have I experienced such an incredible bowl of wonton soup and omg don’t even get me started on that General Tso’s chicken… More like General WOW’s chicken if you asked this guy, but what do I know? I’m only the worlds most highly regarded southern Texas Vietnamese cuisine critic in all of America. And if I had $ 3.75 for every awesome appetizer they had on that menu, I’d pretty much be able to get all the appetizers. Look I’m not saying you shouldn’t eat at other Asian restaurants. I’m just saying you don’t have to anymore

I never write reviews but this place is hands down it is jewel in the heart of the west side. It is so hard to find a good authentic Vietnamese restaurant close to downtown or on this side of town. The menu is straight to the point which I love, and the owners and employees are super friendly and helpful. Anyone who is near this side of town its s must try.

Awesome service! The phở was flavorful and tasty. The area may be sketchy, but this restaurant is good. There are a variety of delicious rice plates and rolls too.

I’d been craving brisket phở and this place had the best rating for the distance from my job. I decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. I ordered takeout and service waa awesome! The lady in the front was really nice while I waited for my food. As soon as I arrived back to work, I opened my ‘kit’ and put all the ingredients together in a bowl(they had conveniently placed dry items separately in a plate). The brisket was tender and the broth flavorful, but overall taste was average. I could’ve done with more fresh veggies, spice, and lime but that’s just me.

The owner was very nice. Prices are a little high for phở, by $ 1 – 2. They gave me sprouts but very little, no basil. The sandwich and rice plate had a lot of onions which is normally not seen. The neighborhood seemed a little rough. I won’t go out of my way to eat here again, but i will eat here if my routing took me near there.

Worked here for a short while months ago and forgot to write a review. Even though I was there for a short time I found my self liking the owners and cook. They have very few staff because of the low customer flow(probably because the surrounding neighborhood is a little shady.) However don’t let this deter you from going. If it’s not the lunch rush then mostly you will be the only patrons. I never purchased any food here but the owners were extremely nice and generous to me and provided me with free lunch every day,(and continuously asked me to try different items on their menu(they had just begun service and wanted to know if I thought it was good and it all was.)until i had to respectfully decline or i would ruin my appetite. Every time i was treated to different delicious dishes and the best white rice i have ever had in a restaurant. The people running this restaurant are very deserving of your service. Even if you don’t want to try Vietnamese they still provide customary chinese and possibly even japanese menu items that i remember them planning on adding to the menu. Not sure right now but it’s possible they still deliver.

Didn’t care for this place. Was a little apprehensive about trying it because of the location(was in a neighborhood that looked run down). Decided to go there for a quick lunch before heading out for a road trip. We were the only table there which hinted to me that this restaurant was not good. The phở broth was too salty and lacked basic accompaniments like bean sprouts and basil. Some chicken pieces in one of the phở bowls were undercooked and there was too little rice noodles. The grilled pork and chicken with rice special was cheap($ 6.95) but was too salty for my taste. Also disappointing was no Vietnamese ice coffee on the menu. Will not go back. This is one of the rare times where Unilocal reviewers did not get right.

Solid mom and pop restaurant. We were the only patrons there at 7pm Saturday night(they close at 8pm) so the service was good for us! Located in a kinda sketchy part of town, I was hesitant but our need to find the best phở in SA meant we had to try it out. We ordered phở tai and summer rolls. The summer rolls were the highlight for me! Fresh and so good. Filled with chicken and shrimp. I even ordered an extra one. The phở was good too, standard broth. Fyi, they do not have boba or smoothies. Great service, good food, we will be back.

Drove 30 minutes to an empty resturant. Website says open on Saturday, Unilocal says open on Saturday… but apparently not. Very disappointing, will not be back.

I was prepared to be disappointed, but this phở was actually excellent. I got the flank/brisket phở. The broth was great, heavy on the star anise, which I appreciated, and they told me they don’t add msg. There isn’t an option on the menu to add tendon/tripe. They’re generous with the basil, lime, and jalepenos. They don’t offer bean spouts, but I don’t like bean sprouts anyway. And the summer roll! May be the best goi cuon l I’ve had in San Antonio. Incredibly fresh, great mix of ingredients, both pork and shrimp. Hours have changed from what’s on Unilocal — it’s only lunch from 11 – 2 now. This place is so recently opened they still serve the appetizers on styrofoam plates, and it’s a block away from the scrap metal factories, but as long as you don’t quibble at those inconsequential ambiance things, the place is great. $ 10 for fine ice tea, a great summer roll, and a really good bowl of phở.
