Míster Simon is just amazing. I just had two watches fixed this week. Some former repairman installed the wrong pin on my Grand father’s Rolex decades ago. This caused some damage to the bracelet cover. This was not an easy or simple fix, but now it now looks and feels perfect. The other was an unglued hour marker in a Tudor. Fixed as well. We had a wonderful chat during the drop off and pick up. What a wonderful man. The price for his service is a bargain.

I came to Mr. Simon with a broken gold chain necklace my mother had given me years ago. This chain is very delicately woven and has small details that not even my eyes could see. He was able to fix it in less than 5 minutes! He pays a lot of attention to detail, and is extremely knowledgeable. He has been doing this for over 60 years. You can’t replace that kind of experience. Also, he did not charge me anything for the work. He’s a great jeweler and would recommend very highly to anyone.

One of my watches had a hard time opening the back to replace the battery. I have taken it to so many watchmen but had no luck. But this guy was able to open it within a couple of minutes. He said he has been here over 22 years. It’s a tiny cozy place that goes perfect with a sweet old man. He’s knowledgable about what he does. I’ll be bringing all my jewelry and watches here from now on. Very reasonable prices. Keep in mind, it’s downtown so you might want to start looking for parking a couple of blocks prior to arriving the destination.

On my flight into San Antonio I realized I needed my watch battery replaced! Did a quick Unilocal search and found this place highly rated. Walked over here from my hotel and met the nicest sweetest man! He quickly changed my watch battery and charged me almost nothing to replace it! Nice guy and a sweetheart! Definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Fast and efficient new watch battery in minutes!

Brought in a few mechanical timepieces for service and regulating. The crown and stem had come apart on one of my Swiss eta movements and needed repair. I had been to the other ‘jewelry and watch repair’ shops around town and was told that this particular watch would have to be serviced off-​site and needed to be shipped out.
When I brought the piece to Mr. Simon I was expecting a similar response, but to my surprise, he located the issue and realigned the movement and crown in less than 30 minutes.
Mr. Simon started his business in the 80s and has been a San Antonio native for most of his life. His tiny shop is filled with up to date literature on the industry and he also sells a small collection of high end watches. All in all he quoted me $ 25 for the repair and a very competitive price for regulating my other watches (prices vary depending on movement and caliber).
I can’t recommend Mr. Simon highly enough for anything from a quartz battery replacement to full servicing of high end mechanical watches. Bottom line: He’s a real stand up guy and runs a trustworthy and affordable business. It’s hard to come across a true watchsmith who knows what they’re doing and I’m lucky to have found this gem in San Antonio!

I’ve taken several antique watches to Mr. Simon, and of course they have all worked flawlessly to this day. A few were cleaned by him decades ago.
You would not think that a whole lot could go wrong with something as tiny as a watch, but they do. He has been able to correct shortcuts and botchery committed by others many decades prior. Like the car repair industry, there are those that will charge a price for a major operation despite the fact that they have taken shortcuts that can eventually cause more damage. He does not just dip these timepieces into a solvent, and oil. They are completely disassembled, and re-​calibrated.
He is especially patient, as one would imagine. And faithfully explains in great detail the condition of evey component, regardless of my abiity to fully grasp the nomenclature.

Mr. Simon is a diamond in the rough industry of watch and jewelry repair. He sells fine watches, too, but until I can save my pennies for the watch I want I’m going to keep bringing my old timepieces over for routine maintenance.
