This is an amazing bar. Great drinks and service. Beautiful setup and great view. The only issue was that is was a cooler windy night. We unfortunately had to stay in the covered area but that is not their fault unless they can control the weather. Will definitely be back on a warmer night.

Slow, but it’s Sunday. Great drinks. I had a Forever Single. I loved the star anise and lemon peel, it added that extra eye candy!

Great vibe and even better drinks. I think I found my new favorite spot to unwind after a long week.

Mixed emotions. Mostly negative. One star for the view. That’s it. First time we came there was a Long line at midnight here… so we decided to kill time at the brooklynite while the line died down. Finally made it around 1:15am. Low and behold… no line! They have plenty of security around to keep party goers in check, which gives you somewhat of a sense of security. I will flat out say, I do not like the clientele here, nor the bartenders. The mixed drinks were average at best and pricey for what they are! I am happy to pay for a well made drink, but they couldn’t even get an old fashioned right. Paramour is crawling with a certain crowd, and the bouncers make sure to keep it the way they want. On our second visit, it was 11pm and of course… an unavoidable line. We waited patiently, and our dreams of chillin with a view were crushed when a bouncer decided one of our friends was wearing tennis shoes and would not allow him in. He was wearing non athletic shoes btw. If this is in fact their dress code, they should have it clearly stated SOMEWHERE… ANYWHERE. I checked out their website and found no such code. The kicker was that the bouncer let in right in front of us a guy wearing black converse. Really?! If they want a dress code, be consistent and don’t cherry pick who you let in.

I saw it while walking around the river walk so I decided to see what they had to offer at night. To my surprise they also serve coffee in the morning to afternoon(8am –4pm) and then drinks until 2 am. First visit was at night and it has a really nice view as they are located on the top floor. They have plenty of seating outside as well. They do have stairs that you can take– they have funny signs to read along the way, or they also have an elevator. Their drinks are on the pricey side but they do use some quality stuff. The only downside is that for some reason I was charged an automatic gratuity for 2 drinks? He handed the receipt over after ringing the drinks and the gratuity charged was around $ 5.00. Ended up tipping more anyways bc I normally tip well but I don’t think I’ve ever had that happen at a bar. That caught me off guard. I wasn’t sure why but I figured it was the system here? Upon returning the next day to show some friends we weren’t charged an automatic gratuity so be sure to check your receipt. Decided to check out their coffee the following weekend and I would probably visit more so in the daytime/afternoon than at night bc the view to me is nicer during daylight. They play some indie music and have an open patio that overlooks the river walk. I would return in the morning/afternoon to either chit chat with friends after lunch or just to enjoy the view.

Got a bit delayed on our first visit when the security officer notified us that they were closed for a private function until 9 but would reopen to the public at 9:30. After the obligatory ID check(the function of which is lost on me), we were ushered to the interior elevator and went up to the bar. They definitely seem to have the largest selection of spirits in San Antonio by far; and while I’m unlikely to ever indulge in a tasting at the three digit level, there’s plenty of those available for the merely curious or those seeking to impress… there’s supposedly a Camus cognac that I didn’t see on the list– distributor had told us about it, falls into the«if you must ask the price, you can’t afford it» territory. Sampled a couple of their barrel-aged cocktails and were pleasantly surprised. After that, veered into seeing what they could do with off-menu classics and was delighted to see an honest recommendation instead of the expected upsell when the call brand requested was unavailable. Bartenders are very friendly, informative, and knowledgeable. Declined the temptation to post photos from the ladies restroom… husband assures me the gents were not left out in that department.

I guess it’s pretty. I went on a Friday afternoon, which was a great time to come by for a coffee. I guess I just don’t get it. Some places do knick-knacks and tchotchkes well(Hot Joy, Barbaro), some don’t. This place doesn’t. They try really hard though. Great patio, but the couch was a bit rough. Arm coming loose, but otherwise comfortable. I don’t imagine many people will be biking to this swanky spot, but if you do… scout out a proper place to lock your bike up. The ones they provide are pretty, but not effective(running theme?).

What a view!!! This rooftop bar has a large outdoor patio overlooking downtown San Antonio with plenty of seating. I imagine this would be a great place to come to watch the sunset. I went here last night for the first time and was very impressed. We found street parking easily on a weeknight. Getting into the bar is interesting. They had a security guard on the ground floor check our IDs and another security guard at the elevator. The bartenders were fast and efficient. I sampled the trophy wife but I thought it was quite expensive at $ 11(I guess that price includes the great view?). The women’s bathroom is hilarious. I don’t want to give it away, so that’s all I will share ;). If you haven’t been yet, I recommend it, but be prepared for the high prices for drinks.

Their ambience is perfect for a casual afternoon or a formal date. They have an indoor lounge and patio seating. They play good indie music indoors. They also have unique cocktails on their menu specific to their bar and can also make classic cocktails. Kind of pricey but it’s a beautiful environment.

Let me first start off by saying I’ve waited for this bar to open for 1 year! My first experience at a rooftop bar was in Washington, DC at POV, and I remember thinking… why don’t we have something like this in SA? Now it is here. Highlights: It is exactly what I thought it would be. Beautiful rooftop bar overlooking the San Antonio skyline. If you visit during happy hour, you will find fashionable, young professionals looking dapper. Great furniture, ambiance, and friendly bartenders. Be ready to take a lot of photos and selfies. Lowlights: I’m petite, so when I go to happy hour, I try to stick to drinks I know I can metabolize quickly. That being said, it is a little jarring to pay $ 30 for 2 glasses of Chardonnay. I can’t imagine how much mixed drinks are! Tip: If you get to Paramour right at 6p, you can find parking on the street. Just be prepared to parallel park.

Paramour you sexy beast. I didn’t expect to like it but I did. Clean, smell goods and right atop of the world(at least in SA). Its couches are quite comfy and beg to be sat on. There’s nothing like relaxing on a comfortable couch, sipping on a cocktail, enjoying good conversation while taking in the view and feeling the crisp breeze(even at 92° at 930pm, the breeze makes the blazing hot San Antonio summer evenings feel much cooler). The drinks were delicious and their list of spirits exceptional(Pappy Van Winkle is on the list). Definitely going to go back; this place is not to be ignored, especially once Fall rolls around.
