Club Giraud

As a private dining club for members and guests only in the historic Ursuline Academy complex along the San Antonio River Walk, Club Giraud is an exclusive spot for fine dining or events. Be a member or know a member cause basically Club Giraud is there to preserve the historic buildings it occupies and serve its members. Call to ask whatever service you need, but, if you aren’t a member, well, bummer.
My wife and I were lucky to join a small family party at Club Giraud enjoying a wonderful evening of drinks, dinner, and conversation in a private room and patio overlooking the San Antonio River. I had the Lamb Chops while she got the Steak. Both were fine. I think I liked the Seafood Gumbo starter even more. My favorite: several Gin & Tonics.

Obviously, Club Giraud isn’t for everyone or most meals, but it is a wonderful quiet retreat and historic setting for a social cocktail or business meeting in San Antonio.

Lovely atmosphere coupled with some of the best food in San Antonio! Always impeccable service and the quaint yet steeped in history, surroundings remind me it’s a true SA treasure.

It’s members only. I was lucky enough to go with a member on lobster night. Biggest most juicy lobster I have ever eaten ! Excellent service and beautiful ambience. I hope I will return one day.

We attended a reception at this private club after a memorial service for a family member. Lovely setting with French style outdoor courtyard with large trees and flowers along the Riverwalk.
Fantastic patient, professional and personable staff. The food is fresh — a mix of French, Creole and Mexican.
A true quiet gem tucked away in the midst of the noise of the city.

This place is amazing! We are not members, but have had the opportunity to dine here several times. It has the best meals in town!

Very posh little place to have dinner. I suspect not many people have the opportunity to come here because of the membership required. An organization I’m apart of had their annual dinner here and got a chance to check it out. I don’t know the history of this building, but everything from the size of the doors to the decorations feels very old but beautifully maintained. Like a museum. I believe my group got the catering for the dinner done in house. The meal was delicious. Try their cheese sticks that they place on the table during your salad. So good! Also the service was incredible. Besides a kind of irate waitress, the rest of the servers were just overwhelmingly helpful and polite.

It’s for members only and in this case it means you need to be in the top ten of the richest people in San Antonio. And for what you pay the service is just OK, I saw better service for less.
Besides while they have fee parking and plenty, the entrance is a little tied when you drive a larger vehicle like it’s common in Texas.
The 2^nd star is for your location at the riverwalk as this is actually kind of nice.

Club Giraud is always an amazing experience… From the cocktails and wine to the food and impeccable service, everything is always top-​notch. It’s a members-​only establishment, but if you find yourself there for dinner prepare to get completely addicted to their house-​made cheese straws. sooo good! Whether you opt for steak or fish for dinner, it will be cooked to perfection (i recommend either the filet or the red snapper). The place itself is beautifully laid out with several private rooms, a gorgeous patio/​garden area with outdoor seating and a nice little bar area to grab a drink before youre seated. The service is never lacking and the staff is always quick to help with any requests. Always a fab experience, looking forward to going back!
