I love our Oreck. Bought it in 2005 and have had no problems with it yet. Annually, we’d bring it in for cleaning and tune-up and that’s it. Last year, we were able to drop it off closer to our house. There was a store in the Quarry. When we stopped by this year for our annual tune-up, we were dismayed to see that the Oreck store had been replaced by a wax bar. So we called Oreck and were told that this location off the 10 was now the only Oreck store in town. Really?! Just ONE store in a town this size? It’s a pain to have to drive clear across town for our Oreck needs. But, we don’t have a choice. Like all other Oreck stores, this one is small. The workers aren’t very friendly. But they’re there… Monday thru Saturday 10am-6pm.

Communication is severely lacking, from employee to employee and employee to customer. Employees don’t know parts on hand in the store; they don’t inform each other of the proper info to pass along to customers(in my case: the tech didn’t write down on my service sheet that my vacuum was still broken — actually wrote«done» with a check mark); they also don’t call in a timely manner to inform you on parts being available(if something had to be special ordered). With the lack of communication and lack of knowledgable employees I now know for the future that I’ll have to ask the proper questions(even though I did orig. ask if the part I needed was in stock and the answer was YES) and constantly call for updates on any repairs. Since they screwed up so badly I told the store my vacuum better be fixed by 4pm; I dropped it off at 11am… Mind you it was supposed to be ready 2 weeks prior. Also I had already been informed it was only a 45 min fix, pretty easy. They employee told me he’d try to get it done and I reminded him that if I would have been called the day earlier(when the part actually arrived) then I would have come in and they’d have an entire day to fix it. My vacuum was indeed ready in the time frame I requested so that made me somewhat pleased. Never once did I get an apology for the mix up and getting informed wrong info. All they kept saying was«we wanted you to have your vacuum until the part came in». Well great, but A. Don’t tell me you have the part when you don’t; B. Don’t tell me my vacuum is fixed when it wasn’t; C. Don’t act like you’re doing me a service by giving me back a broken vacuum. Also when they say parts take 1 – 2 weeks to come, they take 2. I called two days shy of exactly 2 weeks and was met with a snooty response of «we told you we’d call when the part came in». Except, they never did(I called on the 14th day to find out the part came in the afternoon prior… Plus it’s not like I called when the store opened to give them no chance of calling me… I called in the late AM). I gave 3 stars because my vacuum was able to be fixed in 1 day and they have quite a few cleaning products in their store(bags, carpet sprays, multiple styles of Oreck vacuums to test out).
