This place is passable. The current 4-star average is pretty generous for Unilocal, based on my experience. Great service, comfortable environment, and lots of social seating. My bagel was as good as I’ll get in SA, but the brewed coffee was just mediocre. They seem proud of their coffee, so maybe I should have ordered something more specific? And for better or worse, the place is totally dead on a Wednesday afternoon at 1−2pm, whereas I know it’ll be hard to find a place to sit at Local Coffee right now. And on the day I visited, the one bathroom was *flooded* with what smelled like urine. There was a wet floor sign in place, but no effort while I was there to remedy the situation. Literally could not avoid walking in it, and I probably left a trail of wet footprints all the way out the door. Yuck.

Stale kolache and bland coffee. I could stop there and that would be enough. When I asked what kind of kolache they had, the barista said, «regular.» What the heck is a regular kolache? I only live a mile away from OP but by the time I got home the coffee was cold and the kolache tasted like it had been sitting out for an entire day. Except it was only 8:30am. For the money, you better go someplace else… Press, Rosella, Local, Fairview, Halcyon, White Elephant. Just don’t bother with Olmos Perk.

New management. Coffee is terrible, very little food. Too bad, used to be a nice spot.

I had to check out this place when i saw the name«Olmos Perk». It reminded me of «Friends».(I always liked Rachel & Ross… but…they weren’t there) I was really pleasantly surprised to see free wi-fi & little cubicles. Nice! Got some work done & had some great coffee. Really enjoyed the foam art the barristas did.(Some people are just plain talented at that sort of thing. Put a smile on my face.) Suggestion… get a perk card. You can earn free drinks. ll be back… even if Rachel & Ross aren’t there. The coffee is good.

Whenever I come to San Antonio I always go to Olmos Perk for a great cup of coffee. On this trip I found out the place is under new ownership and it was very disappointing at how bad the coffee is now. I ordered a decaf breve latte and I think they forgot the coffee. It tasted like I just had a cup of half and half with a little coffee flavored syrup in it. The warm friendly staff who greeted you are no longer to be found which was a bummer as well. I hope this place can figure out how to recreate the great coffee and friendly atmosphere which I had always found there before.

I finally came here after i saw a great deal on groupon, i think it was a 4 — $ 5 vouchers for a certain price. well let’s just say, i dont know if i would be back if i didnt have to use the groupons. The atmosphere is nice! cute coffee shop vibes with a nice playlist/station. Hasn’t been crowded at all the times ive been. I’ve had so far 2 soy chai lattes(one of them was dirty and the other sugar free) and the last drink was an ice soy latte. Lets start with the sugar free, i was surprised when she asked me what kind of flavor i wanted… i thought. chai? well last thing she said was sugar free so i assumed it would be well. with out sugar. But it tasted like an artificially sweetened drink, you know what i mean? it was ALRIGHT. i would never order it like that again though. The dirty soy chai was better! Pretty sweet though considering there was a shot of espresso in it but you would never know given the sweetness of the drink. And the last but not least, the iced soy latte. OMG I ALMOSTSPITITOUT. i got into my car(it was a rental at the time) and it was literally dripping out of my mouth because i didnt want to swallow it and i didnt want to get the damn rental dirty.(Maybe i’m being dramatic) honestly though, it tasted burned, like when espresso has been pressed for a little or a lot longer than it should’ve. like the machine was still going and they forgot about it, and thought. oh well they will never notice the burned, bitter taste of their drink. I can honestly say it was the worst latte ive ever had. i’m not a coffee snob or anything… but this drink was gross. BUT i have one more groupon and i will give this drink another try and update my review.

I generally like this place and absolutely loved Joseph and Desiree, as well as the owners who were seemingly mostly there on weekends. However there’s a few other employees there who don’t always meet the standard set by the others. There’s one cat there who is too honest. He’s constantly wearing a shirt with something about Austin or how much cooler Austin it… Maybe there’s a coffee shop up there he can work at? Anyone know? And when you ask him how he’s doing that day, he all too honestly tells you that he’s «not too good.» Hahaha. I applaud the chap for honesty. That shit aside, the coffee was always good, the other staff was always overly friendly and attentive, and the entire place is super clean. They also have super cool divided cubicles with plugs that you can use to people watch with your back a porno filled computer screen towards the wall. Ya creep. See ya around!

We love the perk. Their staff make it extra special and the perk card that earns free drinks is awesome. Try a sugar free almond milk chai! Or anything Sarah recommends. The study carrols are also useful when I need a spot to work that’s not my home office. They also get goodies from broadway daily bread, so it’s a one stop shop for breakfast!

A cozy coffeeshop that encourages visitors to linger! Indoor seating includes small, private workstations with electrical outlets, as well as several group tables. There is also outdoor seating available, when the weather is nice. The train yard-style shopping center is nice and quiet, not so much people watching here. Drinks and food are about average coffee shop fare, but I especially enjoy their Tiger Chai Latte– I’ve never really asked what the«tiger» part adds, but it’s tasty and has a bit more spice than my usual chai. I will say that it tastes better iced. Service is okay. I’ve had some great, friendly, outgoing baristas, and I’ve come during that afternoon lull when they have one guy running the register, making the drinks, and clearing the tables. Bonus star for having coffee happy hour! Coffee drinks are half off, 2−4PM. They also offer student and military discounts.

The many years ago I came here, the constant remains smiling faces and a great atmosphere. –student & military discounts –gift card gives rewards of sorts(ask counter details) –sandwich & pastry food options –soy & almond milk alternatives — happy hour(2 – 4) –Sunday farmers market –great study and conversation friendly atmosphere Bags of coffee beans with the coffee house logo are sitting knee/hip height by the register as you glance in the display case to your right for a sneak peak at the goodies available. I’m offered a «sample«macaroon to try before choosing from the selection of flavor options displayed at $ 1 each. Seriously there is a huge macaroon craze lately, even my bubble tea shops are selling them now! Friendly banter and the smile never waivers off the owners face, coffee making guy whose name I didn’t catch is quirky sense of humour while making my drink and I appreciate the personality they exhibit to keep this place from downward spiraling into a local version of Starbucks. It feels hip, but with an open tolerance atmosphere, though I do wish they had more comfortable seating options since the stiff lines of the lounge chairs do not invite my usual 3 hour book reading trend to make myself at home. Perhaps it’s also the side tables that have a 4 sided tray stuck on a metal frame feel to it. I’m short, when I sit down having a ledge to my side table means I’m more likely to catch the lip trying to distractedly set my drink back down. But hey I’m an awkward person to begin with so I need extra mothering from my furniture to feel at home just anywhere. Otherwise the experience is a positive one and I’ll be sure to come during their dead hours on a weekday to better try finding my comfort spot and getting the full option of menu varieties that they were out of this close to end of business on a Sunday. Keep it up guys, there’s a reason you stick in my memory 4 years later. :)

Woke up wanting a cold brew and figured this spot could fill my craving. No cold brew and no pour over, but the coffee was still enjoyable. Went with a Brazilian roast and it was tasty. I feel like a yuppie when it comes to my requests for a particular type of coffee, but at the same time would argue that the best flavor comes from both of those processes. Overall this s a a pretty comfortable spot. The inside area is spacious and filled with comfortable seating for working or enjoying your coffee. I was able to select between three different beans and enjoyed the coffee, but was a little let down that there was no option for a cold brew or a pour over.
