My daughter loves Nancy’s! She has been coming here for over 2 years. The staff is very professional and does a very nice job on her nails.

The staff here took excellent care of me from the moment I walked in. They were accommodating to my tight schedule and did an excellent job with my shellac nails and pedicure. I recommend this nail salon!

Visited Nancy’s with my friend today for some pampering. I’ve been to several places in San Antonio and mostly disappointed. Nancy’s however, wasn’t one. Walked in and were greeted right away. They were busy, which was surprising for a Wednesday around 11am. However, we got seated at the pedicure chairs and our nail tech, Sunny, turned on the massage chairs and ran out water for us. Pedis — The water could have been hotter, but it was fine. The regular pedicure comes with a massage with lotion and hot towels(YAY!). My nail tech, Eva, did a good job pampering my toes and feet. The massage was to die for, and I almost fell asleep. She offered to do a design on my toes, which turned out great! Set — Eva also did my set for me. It was pretty good, though it could have been better. She misglued one of my nails and had to peel it off and then got one of my thumbs glued to the nail. Mistakes, but nothing to cry about. She was quick and efficient, but the quality was good. I got a design on one of my nails, a heart, cute but the extra glitter she put on it was a little overkill and made it look sloppy. Staff is Friendly! Sunny was talkative with my friend, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. They do offer drinks(soda, water, and WINE!) while you’re getting your pampering done. I’m sure to I’ll be back again since it is one of the better nail salons that aren’t overkill on the price.

I have learned an important lesson here: The next time someone with questionable eyebrows walks into a small room to wax mine, I should run for the door — even if I have to drop kick the witch to make it to the exit! I used to frequent Nancy’s Hair and Nail Spa for pedicures. I was enjoying a pedicure with an out of town friend one day when the pedicurist suggested that I also get my eyebrows waxed. Now, admitedly, I rarely wax my eyebrows but, since my friend’s eyebrows turned out great, I decided to get mine done as well and equally LOVED the results. Despite loving the results the first time around at Nancy’s, I didn’t get my eyebrows waxed at Nancy’s again for approximately a year due to issues I had with their pedicures. Although I was previously a regular, coming approx once every 1 – 2 months for pedicures due to their convenient location and long hours, I began questioning their cleanliness and consistency of service and gradually stopped going to Nancy’s for pedicures and, since I wasn’t getting my pedicures there, I didn’t want to take the time for a seperate trip for my eyebrows. Let me back up by saying that the pedicure prices are cheap and the service is good for the prices. You also get a large selection of paints to choose from including China Glaze and Opi brands. But, unless you bring in your own tools and ask them to re-wash the tub in front of you, I would not recommend their pedicures given that their cleanliness practices are questionable. I’ve noticed that when they get busy(which is often), they tend to be a lot less lax about disinfecting tools in between clients and, since I have been a victim of toe fungus before(something that is expensive and time-consuming to cure), cleanliness is important. So, after having avoided them for several months, I had an event come up which called for an eyebrow wax. I therefore decided to go back to Nancy’s and re-live the awesome eyebrow waxing experience I had earlier. I was told that the lady I used last time was not working that day but that an equally good technician was there. After a pedicure(which I got since I was there and made sure to ask that all tools be disinfected and the basin re-washed prior to my use), I was led to a small, private room near the back of the salon and was told to lie down and wait for the waxer who will be in shortly. As promised, the waxer came into the room within a few minutes. I immediately noticed, as she walked into the room — even before she placed her face close to mine — that her eyebrows were less than spectacular — in fact, they were a hot mess. Not only were they oddly shaped, but they did not match one another and were surrounded by several small red bumps and what appeared to be burn marks. I immediately contemplated leaving but felt trapped by my fear of being rude and her small body blocking the door of the small room. To make a long story short, I thoroughly regret my decision to allow her to wax my eyebrows and had to get bangs(done immediately after at Fantastic Sam’s) in order to cover up my brows(one, which had all hair waxed off after a sharp arch, the other which was thin and rounded). I also cried over the results of a beauty treatment — something I have not done since childhood. I was offered sympathy but no other explanation or compensation(like my money back) for the horrible job.

This salon had the same smell as every other salon I’ve been in for nails. My pedicure was inside forty minutes and the technician missed a spot on one of my toenails that I had to ask to get corrected. On the next day one of the clear coat finishes on my manicure peeled off! No plans to return.

I have been a pedicure addict for about 10 years now. Ever since my mom took me for the first time, there has been no turning back. However, my increasing germ phobia has caused me to be extra cautious about who I let handle my little piggies. Cleanliness of a nail salon is one of my highest priorities. Nancy’s Nails is owned by a husband and wife who have known our family for quite some time now. The shop has only been open for about six months, but whenever I am in town they are always pretty busy. Upon entering, you are not blasted in the face with the disgusting smell of the acrylic nail chemicals and such. I don’t know how they do it, but it smells wonderful! The shop is very open and bright and decorated with a loving woman’s touch. Very homey feeling. While you pick out your color, the technician washes the components inside the pedicure basin and asks how warm/hot you would like the water. Climb into the massage chair with your complimentary beverage, and prepare for an amazing experience. I have had my piggies serviced by a few different technicians, and they all average about 45 minutes per pedicure. I am smart though, and make sure to always book my appointment with Lee(one of the owners). He gives the best massages(I think he may have a foot fetish), and spends about an hour on his clients!!!
