I had a gut feeling not to go in and I should have listen. I told her what I wanted. I had a mop head and wanted to go back to short hair so I could spike it up. As soon as the lady started I knew I should have paid the more expensive places. She looked worried while cutting my hair and nicked me twice on my ear. Back of my head the hair is still long. Push out the extra cash if you want it done right.

Ana did a great job. I was in Texas visiting my sister and didn’t expect much for my curly, frizzy hair but hadn’t had a cut in awhile. It’s hours later now and I’m fully appreciating my new haircut. Ana is experienced and knew exactly how to handle my wavy, difficult hair AND give me the cut that I asked for(even though I didn’t know the technical terms and didn’t feel like I described it well). I could have easily spent double the price elsewhere for a lesser cut and even then sometimes the styling isn’t the best. If you need someone who is affordable yet very skilled, I’d recommend Ana!

The other day I got an absolutely horrendous haircut at a small salon by my house. I can tell you that I honestly don’t think my stylist even went to school. «I want to keep the length but remove a little bit of weight, I’m trying to grow my hair out» is all I asked. I left with what looked like an unfinished stacked bob. Upon my coworkers recommendation, I went to Bailee from Mastercuts for help. Ugh where do I start. She is so professional, so friendly, and very understanding of my situation. While we both knew my hair had taken a beating from the previous place, she knew exactly what to do. I felt like I was just hanging out with a friend(I had just met her!) I left feeling so beautiful. Thank you Bailee! :)

I knew what I was getting into walking in, but I literally was on a time crunch, having just moved to the area and had no time to find a good salon, but also was out of town the week prior and having a Military ball the next night. I needed a cut and color, but knew I did not have time for both(nor do I trust anyone with color unless I know their credentials and I like their cutting skills0 there were 2 stylists. one had a family of three that were all getting their hair cut, and the other was just sitting there. in broken English, she had me sign in and then sat me down. before she began, however, a woman came in and they began chatting animatedly in Spanish for a good 5 – 7 minutes before I interrupted and stated I would NOT be sitting around while she socialized. she did apologize, but the other woman WOULDNOT freaking leave. eventually, she must have gotten the hint because she did take off. the stylist could barely be understood and while she asked good questions she still failed to cut around my ears like I had requested. I will say this, the phone rang in the middle and she even asked the other stylist to pick it up; however it was for her and apparently would not leave a message. she did tell them to call her back and apologized again. she was competent but not inspired and SLOW. for the $ 20 I paid. well I got my money’s worth and as I walked out her friend showed right back up and would not look me in the eye. while I was in the chair someone did come in but left when told it would be a good 30 minutes before she could be seen. the second stylist was still working on the family of three when I left.(2 girls and their mother)

So I’m very wary of getting my hair cut in malls and by chain stores such as Super Cuts and whatnot. First I went to the Trade Secrets that’s right beside this place in North Star and was told a haircut was $ 50 but they didn’t have anyone available for the rest of the day to do cuts. I told the lady that was fine, I had no want to pay $ 50 for a haircut anyways. I then went next door and met«Sarah» at MasterCuts. I told her I was slightly fearful of getting my hair cut in a mall, as the last time I did they completely ruined it despite me having a picture of what I wanted, and them telling me several times they understood what I wanted. She washed my hair and conditioned it, for $ 3 extra. And then she had to put up with me changing my mind on what I wanted. Originally I just wanted 2 inches off, and then decided when she was just about done, that I wanted it all off, 8 more inches at least. I apologized for my all of a sudden decision, but she was happy to oblige. Overall, I thought the service and price was simply amazing. She knew what she was doing, and I trusted her with my hair. She gave me exactly what I wanted, when I didn’t even know what I wanted. I’ll be going back in the future for a dye job.
