We specifically came here because we assumed that there were going to be a selection of baked goods hence the word«bakery» in the name, but we were hugely disappointed.

Very few filipino restaurants around Lackland AFB but this place is good and very affordable. They also have sweets, i tried their Cassava and it was really good. They close early though(3pm) so that is the only thing that I didn’t like about it but other than that it is a good place to check out.

Wow, this place has all the selections of traditional Philippines menu. The lumpia is just like I remember from years back. The atmosphere is traditional with Philippines culture. The service was great too.

Love the food here. Closest Filipino food I’ve had to my grandparents’. The staff is very nice too! It feels like veing around family. I always end up ordering the special mix plate and an order of the Shanghai lumpia. It’s a good mix of food. And I always grab one of the desserts! I can’t remember what it’s called but it’s the brown one. Yummm.

We came here on the way to the Riverwalk and we enjoyed our experience. I ordered the Dinuguan and my wife ordered a fried Tilapia. Both dishes were cooked very well and tasted very good. It was a nice change from the typical pizza, wings and burgers. We love Filipino food and it’s hard to find a Filipino restaurant around, let alone one that can cook home style and not commercial. We recommend Lily’s for those with a taste for Filipino food.

The chicken adobo taste was amazing just like it does in PI. Will be back to try other dishes.

Great filipino restraunt. I have been to several filipino restraunts all over the country and this is one of the better ones that I’ve come across. I had the sampler plate and was not disappointed. Will return!

So maybe I’m just picky… I’ve spent plenty of time in the Philippines and used to have a filipino bff next door, who always hooked me up with sinigang, lumpia, pancit, etc. Anyway… The ‘pancit’ was just angel hair spaghetti noodles with lots of oil and some chicken and cabbage. Good flavor, but not what I was looking for. I asked the guy at the front if the special came with egg rolls or was it lumpia. He said ‘what’s the difference? ‘. They were just lumpia wrappers filled with random veggies and deep fried. Again, not what I expected. The chicken adobo was pretty good.

Simple Filipino dishes but really tasted great. One server for the whole place at lunchtime, so we weren’t checked as often if we needed anything else. For the taste, I’d go back. Don’t go when you have limited time. Directions to get there is also very tricky. We had to go around several times.

This is A+ traditional Filipino food and it is nothing else. It is not gourmet or fancy or nuovo, just real homecooked Filipino food like a Filipino mom would make. Just as the other reviews say, it is almost like you are walking into a Filipino household where the mom and dad are cooking and the grown kids are serving the food. If we were not already full, I would have ordered more. You also get a ton of food for the price. It very inexpensive for how good the food is and how much they give you. They also have some filipino groceries for sale there, which saved us a trip to the Asian market. The only drawback is the location is in a sketchy part of town. However, the restaurant stands out as a clean, reputable restaurant and the parking lot is gated.

Been here twice. If you’re flip, you should know there isn’t one right way to cook the food. When I walk in, I feel like I’m walking in to a friend’s house and sitting down to eat their family’s recipes. The lumpia come as the short three inch pieces, but I’m not complaining. They always bring them out hot & fresh. A must-have when I go. Pancit is different than the way my mom makes it, but actually similar to the way my auntie makes it. I still enjoyed it a lot! Adobo(chicken & pork) was flavorful & tender, not dry. They also have jalapeños in their recipe, so it has a bit of a kick to it than what I’m used to, but still good. It also comes in a bowl of the sauce, so it’s great to eat with the white rice if you’re new to Filipino food. The lechon kawali is a little favorite of mine. They serve it with banana ketchup(yum!) and this vinegar/soy sauce mixture that i don’t know the name of. I’ve tried the sapin-sapin, kassava, & biko. All delicious! The wait time wasn’t a problem the first time, but it was the second visit. Not enough to keep me from going again though.

I really liked the place. I went about 3:00 to get me some lumpia and Adobo. The place only had a few people there and I was cool with that. The décor was ok, nothing to wow about. I sat and asked if they had that pork or chicken lumpia, but unfortunately they had run out and I was cool with that, so I ordered that sampler with the half chicken half pork adobo and pancit. It took a lil while for my good to come out, but I did mind as long as it was fresh.

This place is great to me. CHEAP prices for a lot of food, that is great tasting. I live love their lumpia!!! Their chicken adobo is amazing. I always get their sampler plate, 20B, I believe, and I enjoy their food. Mom, makes me hungry now thinking about it… The place looks closed from the outside, however, lately it has been getting packed during lunch from everyone coming off base… The service is long though, not too terrible… I know that this is a ma&pa place that is delish and homey. There is a lot of desserts available, however, I have never tried it before. And again great prices for the amount of food they give you… Mmmm amazing to me.

I had actually never been to a Filipino restaurant before. But I certainly had authentic Filipino food b/c I have several Pilipino friends who invited me to their house for family dinners. The food I had was super delicious! So I have fond memories of Filipino food and was pretty excited when I discovered Lily’s. It is a little far from work but I made the effort to drive here a few times for lunch. The restaurant has some pretty interesting decors which give an island feel. I ordered the sampler plate with chicken adobo and pancit for the first time I was there. The portion was big and the price was very reasonable. I ordered chicken adobo and Kare Kare the second time. The Kare Kare was all right but I have to admit that I am addicted to chicken adobo. I’ve also had the pork adobo before but I think the chicken is definitely the winner. The owner and the servers were super friendly. They also sell some filipino snacks and bakery at the restaurant. I think I will have to try their baked goods another time. One thing i’ve noticed is that every time i went there there were military people in uniforms eating there. Perhaps it is close to a military base? Pretty sure the restaurant could have been one of my regular lunch spots if it was closer. But I am sure soon enough you will see me there again.

I didn’t know anything about Filipino food, so I didn’t know what to expect from Lily’s when four of us from work went there for lunch. I must say I was very happy with what I found. The décor was very inviting, and I instantly felt relaxed. I ordered the kare-kare, which has received a number of positive reviews here. My companions ordered sinigang bangus, pork adobo with pancit, and the sampler mix. Things got very quiet soon after the food arrived – a sure sign that everyone was enjoying the meal. The kare-kare is completely deserving of its reputation. The peanut gravy was flavorful without being overpowering, and the vegetables(green beans, eggplant and bok choy) were the perfect combination of tender and crisp. A very balanced and delightful dish. Everyone else at the table reported that their food was also delicious. The only negative comment I can make is that the service is slow. It took a very long time to get our food, even though the restaurant wasn’t that crowded. I also got so tired of waiting for a drink refill that I had to go get my own. This, however, would not keep me from going back to Lily’s and recommending it enthusiastically to all my friends. As a bonus, they have several Filipino and Asian grocery items for sale at the counter. Give it a try!

Both of my parents are from the Philippines and we have tried all of the Filipino restaurants in San Antonio. Lily’s is one of the better Filipino restaurants in town. They are a family business that offers a good selection of authentic tasting Filipino food. In my experience they typically don’t have a large staff — so service may not be the best, however the food has always tasted good! My favorite thing to order is the sampler plate the comes with Chicken Adobo(Chicken marinated in soy and garlic), Pancit(Filipino Noodles), Lumpia(Crispy Spring Rolls) and White Rice — this is great to order if you haven’t had Filipino food before and would like to try it. I have also used Lily’s for catering and would definitely recommend them if you are wanting Filipino food for your party or event.

Took a trip to San Antonio, Texas to attend an Air Force graduation for my niece, and first thing we asked her once she was able to get out of base was what kind of food she wanted to eat. She wanted to have some Filipino food! Of course. I knew she missed the rice. Even I missed the rice, and I had it everyday before I came out to San Antonio. Here’s at Lily’s restaurant, hit the spot. We actually came to this restaurant twice during our trip. There’s just so many things to love about this place. On a personal level, we were all Filipinos. This place just reminded us of another home away from home. The interior decoration was outstanding, very native. It made me feel like I was in someone’s Filipino decorated home. Christmas was approaching, so they had the Christmas decorations up with the ornaments and everything. They had Filipino Christmas music playing. The Filipino Channel was on. The ambience was just perfect. It was cold in San Antonio, and they had the most welcoming staff. Thank you so much to Tito Bob, Tita Lily, Kuya Chris and Ate Jen(waitress)! You guys were amazing and really made our trip to San Antonio a memorable one. Now, the food… They are absolutely not selfish with their servings. There were 5 of us ladies and on the two times we visited, we had Adobo Chicken, Lechon Kawali, Menudo, Kaldereta, Dinuguan, Daing Bangus, Lumpiang Shanghai, Sinigang Pork, Kare-Kare, Halo-Halo, Cassava, Sapin-Sapin and many more!!! Amazing dishes with amazing prices. Can’t be beat. Thank you so much for your generous servings! There is nothing negative I can say about this restaurant. Coming from Las Vegas, NV where they have every sort of food you can think of, Lily’s Philippine Restaurant & Bakery really hit the spot. THANKYOU! THANKYOU! THANKYOU!!!
