Wrong food brought out, asked for butter & tortillas and 10 minutes later had to get up and find waitress, THEN found a HAIR in my enchilada! No apology from manager or waitress.

The beef enchalada plate is great. We usually go for the luncheon specials. Very reasonable. When we are ready to leave we get a to go cup of our drink full for the road. Pretty decent… they could just charge us for it but they don“t. It is the fact they go the extra mile for their customers that keeps us coming back.

Las Palapas is a great place for mexican food. The plates are generous and the enchaladas were great. Chips & salsa were awesome. Don’t forget to order pico de gallo to add to your meal. Very teasonable prices. Family friendly. Quick service, nice wait staff. Worth the trip. Totally recommend to all. Enjoy. Love this place

Las Palapas has some of the Best Beef Fajitas I’ve tasted, a little pricey and I don’t mind paying the price but darn man, put some more fajita in the taco! I went by the drive thru today at 5403 N.W. Loop 410 and I swear there was literally four little cubes of fajita in each taco I bought a; Norteno and two beef fajita tacos, and a lemonade($ 15.00). I figure if I am going to pay almost $ 4 bucks a taco it better at least have some meat in it, I’ve gone to the Palapas on 1604&281 and they never skimp on their fajita tacos, so get with the program guys, don’t know if all the palapas are owned by the same person or they are franchised, but if they are franchised there should be some ground rules. I was not that I’m pressed with their food. It was cold and needed spices. Too much noise.

Great food and great service, I think the prices are very reasonable especially the lunch specials. I had the enchiladas verdes and every part of the meal was excellent, sweet tea was good, tortillas were homemade, and the refried beans topped it off!

It was that one text you get a soon as you’re about to get off work,“can you pick up dinner?” I was already tired but long story short. It was very busy in the drive thru and my order was taking forever. They had some of us pull off to the side. I noticed everyone else was leaving way before me and I ordered before them. I was kinda frustrated at that point and then the cashier comes out to apologize for the wait and actually said they would throw in another taco and a large drink for free! So I said yes. They have great customer service. I thought that was very nice of them.

I am from California and this is by far the best Mexican food I’ve ever has … My husband had a Carne asada burrito that was almost a foot long served wet and covered in cheese !! Absolutely amazing! I had a half asada salad and a half was way more than I could eat it was her tasty and came with the best chicken caldo I’ve ever had!!! We also has margaritas and they have about 15 different flavors to choose from… They are very inexpensive for the three of us to eat and three margaritas and one beer the bill was only 36. So we love this place now and will come back here for sure!!’

Recently I’ve been addicted to their Al Carbon Salad and Chicken Soup combo! In one month probably had it about 4 times! I can’t wait for their new location off 151 and Ingram/Potranco to open. Some locations are closed on Sundays and only a select serve alcohol. You can check their website for those details. So yes definitely get the chicken soup if you’re feeling under the weather or even if you’re not! The Al Carbon Salad does not even need dressing that’s how great it is. I just squeeze a couple of lemons slices over it and devour! Try it at least once!

Had dinner at Las Palapas on a Wednesday night. The food was not bad, but not special. I had the tacos al carbon, hubby had the okie burrito. Why they serve the lettuce inside a hot burrito, I can’t say — it immediately got soggy and gross. The service was terrible. Waitress was really unfriendly and didn’t want to answer any questions, forgot our beer, never once refilled water, didn’t check on us after our food arrived, and took way too long after we were finished to bring the bill. I won’t feel back based on the service alone.

Tried something new the other day, pork chili with green sauce. It was so good! Tender chunks of pork in a tomatillo green sauce that was tangy and perfectly seasoned. I still think they have the best chicken tortilla soup in San Antonio, but it was nice to try something different!

My husband and I were in town visiting family, and wanted to try some non-chain restaurants. We did not have a rental car so we couldn’t venture too far from the hotel, and Las Palapas was fairly close. Unilocal rating was pretty decent; figured it would be a safe choice. First impression — was not expecting a drive-thru. Was a little bummed because I thought that meant it was akin to a Taco Bell experience. I wanted something a little nicer than that. However, inside the restaurant it was bright and lively. Could not see the drive thru window anywhere, so I promptly forgot they even had one. Felt definitely like a tex-mex restaurant — on the cheaper side — but a few notches above fast food. It was busy on a Friday night, but not overwhelmingly so. Our server was friendly. And that was about it. She was so extremely slow, forgetful, and just not very good. We were at the restaurant far longer than we should have been — the time span between her visits to our table stretched into double-digit minutes. As for the food, it was decent. The free salsa was spicy, which is good if you like spicy, but I think they need to have a milder option as well. The guacamole was very good. It is served in a hollowed out avocado shell and chilled. Seems like a cute idea, but it was not user friendly. The shell has a rounded bottom, so it rolled all over the plate unless you held it down with your fingers. Would have preferred a bowl. I ordered the Enchiladas Con Crema, which was two chicken enchiladas covered in a cilantro cream sauce. This was very good and flavorful. The sauce was not overwhelming, which I appreciate. The charro beans that came with it were good as well. Nice smoky flavor. My husband had the puffy taco plate. Was not quite the success as my dish; average or maybe slightly above. I could have upped my rating to a 3-star if our server was better because the food was not bad at all. Just goes to show you, however, that a bad server can absolutely impact the overall experience of a restaurant. If I was a local, I would go back to try more of the menu and hopefully get more helpful, expedient service.

This past weekend has just been a huge food fail. Las Palapas used to be so much better. But there were a lot of issues my past visit. First, I ordered a lemonade. It was like they had powdered lemonade, and then decided to add some lime juice in it. What the what? No. Gross. This just made it really sour and gross. Then, I had to request the roasted tomato salsa that used to come immediately with the chips. Are they switching sauces? Why don’t they just keep it the same? And the roasted salsa I got wasn’t even as good as it used to be. Next, I ordered a breakfast taco(chorizo, egg, and bean) on a corn tortilla. Since when does what I ordered taste like bacon? I’m pretty sure my fiancé’s bacon from his bacon and egg taco was cooked, and then my corn tortilla warmed up right after. I like bacon, but when I order it, not when I have something that shouldn’t have bacon.

I don’t know what to say about this place really… I went on a Friday night w/my boyfriend. The wait was about 30 minutes, but there was plenty of empty tables in the restaurant. I think the wait was due to the restaurant being understaffed, as there was a sign saying they were hiring. Then, we finally got seated, and our waiter was very friendly, but somehow the table of 5 behind us, who got seated 10 mins after us, got their food before us. I ordered a menudo and my bf ordered nachos. The food was ok, the dosaritas we ordered were yummy, our waiter was ok, but they really need to have more staff on hand, especially on a Friday night.

This Las Palapas is one of the first I hit when I get into town! Love, love, love it! Some of the best, cheapest Mexican food in town and quick service. Everything is tasty: breakfast tacos, tacos al carbon, puffy tacos, enchiladas, etc. You really cannot go wrong! The only thing I’m not fond of are their tortilla chips… good roasted salsa… save the stomach space for their delicious homemade flour and corn tortillas!

Good burritos, enchiladas verdes, tortillas both flour and corn, margaritas and horchata. I get good service from here a lot. Servers are pretty friendly. I recommend the carne guisada and bbq brisket tacos. For a little Tex Mex/Mexican restaurant chain owned by somebody from California, the bbq brisket tacos are pretty legit. They beat Taco Cabana and Bill Miller’s brisket tacos by a longshot. I’d give them an extra star if they were open Sunday mornings.

I’m not your typical casual diner. My wife and I eat out ALOT and I have the belly to prove it! This place is as good as it gets for the casual Mexican-food dining experience. The food is great. The staff is always helpful, courteous and professional. And the thing that makes it all work so well: the atmosphere! They do a great job of setting the mood to go along with your meal. I could not recommend more!
