Cute place. Nice hang. Very friendly staff. Not bad coffee. Not your hipster coffee shop. Older crowd. They don’t have a real espresso machine and yet still better than Starbucks.

Simply put. Nice, neighborhood, comfy, great wi-fi, clean restroom, delicious coffee. Sadly it’s hit or miss on the service aspect sometimes with the coffee makers and the coffee, but I have better days than bad ones.

This place is perfect for studying. It’s so quiet and welcoming! When you walk in, it’s almost as if you’re at your grandma’s house or some great aunt. Lol it has a nice home-like feeling. The drinks are pretty good too so that’s a plus. It also has free wifi! The staff is also very nice!

Just what you would hope a neighborhood coffee house would be. Good WIFI, cozy sitting areas

Yay — good wifi. Lots of natural light — windows for walls basically. Found my new spot for meetings! The lady that owns and runs it is so personable. Felt like going to visit mom. :) Cozy lounge area and big tables for group meetings/studying. Got a hot chocolate made to my liking — not a coffee drinker, sorry. Bonus: 40″ or so TV in the corner. Games, magazines, and puzzles available too — thought that was nice.

I wasn’t super Impressed to be honest. I went there yesterday Because I really wanted a good cup of coffee and a snack. My coffee was freezing cold and tasted stale, which is really disappointing considering its a coffee house. Also, it was super hot in there… Not a comfortable setting when it’s hot outside already. The blueberry muffin I ate was one of the things I did like and that’s why it gets an extra star. It was very moist and delicious. Also, the lady(forgot her name) was very kind and welcoming. I may give it another try because every place has off days. I just hope the coffee is better.

This is the lowest score I have given on Unilocal yet, and I tried, I even forced myself to drink most of the drink to find something positive of the experience. There was nothing but their store bought pastry which again was store bought to bring something good to this event. The coffee is really bad, like really really bad, my latte tasted like steamed milk and an odd flavor that didn’t resemble any coffee I’ve tasted. Also the cups they serve coffee in made the place seem more dull. On a positive note, outside of what you will be spending your money on, this place really has a sense of community, kind staff and a good set of regulars. I have this at two stars because the guy was nice and environment was cozy but for their actual coffee 0.5÷5, 0.5 being the fact that I am being nourished. Thank for the experience and making me appreciate other experiences. I would feel comfortable going back again and giving them another chance.

Good coffee! However I’m taking off a star because of the lousy Saturday hours. Came by at 7:45 on a Saturday only to find them closed. Went to nearby Starbucks and it is packed to the gills with at least 10 cars in the drive through line and 10 – 15 people waiting in line inside. This lets me know that there is plenty of demand for coffee at this hour in this area. I don’t want to wait in the crazy line at Starbucks so I return to La Taza only to find that they are still not open at the time they have posted on their door(8:00am). Someone arrives at about 8:05 and finally opens the place. LaTaza, you can do better!

COZY: variety of seating, from barstools by the barista to squashy couches and chairs or a simple four-top. Plenty of books, magazines, and even games to entertain groups while they guzzle their beverage of choice. COFFEE(and more!): menu includes iced and hot coffee drinks, smoothies and teas, and a small selection of food such as sandwiches and soups. Pastry case is small but fresh. I really like the extra vanilla notes in their chai latte, try it iced. CUSTOMERSERVICE: Baristas are friendly! Maybe it’s the guy I got or maybe it’s that I went on a Sunday when it was pretty vacant, but it’s been a while since I’ve had an employee initiate personal, genuine conversation when I’m at a business! He was also able to multitask, making my beverage quickly. COMMUNITY: As you enter, there’s a giant bulletin baord advertising events and services in the area. I was also delighted to see a little figuring at the register with small lost and found items seeking their owners(a key, a library card, a loose earring, etc). La Taza clearly cares about their clients!

Why haven’t I been here before? It is close to my house! Great coffee and there was a guy playing acoustic guitar and singing! It is small, but the coffee and service was great ! My daughter loves that they are cheaper than«you know who» and just as good! I will definitely return.

I’m not a coffee or coffee house type, usually, but this is a nice, relaxed spot. I’ve been here for a few meetup groups and it seems to be a good spot to study, to write, to think and gather your thoughts. Nicely decorated, has good mojo here, have had some nice conversations.

Best coffee house ever! Employees are all so sweet and caring, so are the regulars, and owner is just always a pleasure. I always feels comfortable at this place and sometimes they have awesome live music and neat groups that meet up. They are much preferred to any Starbucks for drinks or food and for studying! It’s never obnoxiously loud like other coffee places. It’s a great place for study groups. And they have the best chai tea !

On my first visit I ordered a pre-made sandwich and a blueberry banana smoothie. Both were super tasty and the guy at the counter was nice. I was very happy! This second go-around I brought a friend with me and I ordered the exact same thing. She opened her sandwich and it was covered in white fuzzy mold. She took it back to the counter and the guy said, «I don’t know what happened, she made them this morning!» Mine looked«okay» but when my friend returned with a fresh sandwich, by comparison the meat in mine looked gray. I asked for a replacement as well. I ordered cookies also(1 chocolate chip, 1 oatmeal raisin) and they were dry and bland. I didn’t even finish the oatmeal one. With the sandwich situation in mind, who knows how long the cookies had been there. While I waited, I went to the restroom. It was kind of gross. With the bathroom in need of a cleaning, and the moldy/off-color sandwich I feel so incredibly leery now of the cleanliness and freshness of the products they offer. I wanted so badly to not only like it here, but LOVE it here and I was disappointed that I was queasy before I even took a bite of what I purchased, and truthfully I was a little annoyed that the guy(the same one that helped me my first visit) lied about the fact that the sandwiches were made that morning when it could not have been any more clear that they were in fact, not. Just apologize and move on, why did you have to come up with a ridiculous lie?(Perhaps he was told that they were made that morning and it wasn’t his fault, but common sense should kick in at that point). I hate that I have to give a bad review, but I no longer have any confidence that I won’t get sick after eating here, because items like drinks, I’m unable to inspect thoroughly before indulging in, and why should I have to worry about something like that?

Very cluttered, messy atmosphere. I ordered a latte’. I did not like it at all. They add .20 to orders payed with a debt card for anything under $ 5. The coffee tasted stale. Will not come back.

Scattered with old books and copies of National Geographic, this place has a warm, homey feel to it. It reminds me of my aunt’s house in many ways although my aunt never made lattes and fruit smoothies 30 plus years ago. La Taza has all the usual coffee drinks priced remarkably well. The most expensive items will run you just $ 3.85 for the 16oz size as is. You can add additional shots and flavors for a bit more. I got the white mocha and it was quite tasty. In my experience these white mochas tend to be either too sweet or too strong in the coffee department. La Taza’s white mocha was just about in the middle with a slight lean toward the coffee side. My wife had hot tea. Not much more to say about that. The display case had a nice selection of prepared sandwiches on bread and on croissants. In addition, they offered cookies, cakes, pies, and a few things I didn’t quite recognize. They were all unpriced as far as I could see so ask… There’s a large meeting table in the back and it appears that groups can sign up and use it as a meeting spot. Today’s group was for screen writers. This past Friday they had a «long» group discussion on JFK. There’s one TV in the coffee shop and it was not too loud. Sometimes TVs can be played too loudly creating an overly loud environment. Up front they have 4 leather, or more precisely pleather, arm chairs, which I prefer. I like having a place to rest my elbows. There are several tables on which you can plant your laptop and connect to their free WiFi(ask for password). They even had a table covered in green felt with a 1000 piece puzzle dumped on it — if they mood should strike. Additionally, there is a message board and a clean bathroom. Always a bonus. If you’re in the neighborhood and want to escape the chain coffee shops, give La Taza a try.

This local coffee place does a nice job of making you feel part of their family. The owner is a gem. Small house coffee is $ 1.25 and it is just as good, as Starbucks’ $ 1.89 Pike Place. Yeah, maybe there isn’t a «Gold» card but after adding it up after buying 12 Starbucks cups gets me 18 La Taza cups. There isn’t a drive-thru but walking into a no line place and having a pleasant conversation while getting good coffee is fine with me. I see myself becoming a regular and exploring the rest of their menu and company.
