My go to place for home made flour tortillas. They are amazing! They really kick up taco night a notch :)

Stopped in at La Popular for the first time today and I can’t believe how long I waited to check it out. It had an incredible selection of baked goods including some Christmas themed goodies. Regretfully I don’t even know what all I tried(I’m a newbie to most Mexican baked goods) but I can say that everything I got was fresh and delicious — the pineapple empanada in particular was the best I’ve ever had. Everything here was so moist and pillowy and fresh, even in the middle of the day, and this is the perfect spot to pick up some treats for breakfast or if you want to serve something sweet with coffee. The low prices seal the deal! I do wish they had a larger savory selection but I will be back.

Wow, what a great little Mexican bakery! This place is stuffed to the gills with Mexican breads, cookies, cakes, and even donuts. The prices are very reasonable, too. For the quality, variety, and price, this place warrants 4 stars. If you really like artisan Mexican break, La Panaderia on Broadway inside Loop 410 is tops. I tried the apple pie croissant and it was almost inedible because it was so flaky. HINT: Don’t try to hide eating one of these apple pie croissants in the car before you get home so your wife won’t get angry — flaky croissant everywhere! I also bought some of these small white cookies(which I did share with the Mrs.) covered in powdered sugar and they were excellent(1x.25 cents). Overall, this is a great place with tasty treats and a selection that should keep you coming back again and again. Mmm, tasty treats…

Found this little bakery on Unilocal, had to go try it out after reading the good reviews. Well the reviews were correct bread is always great and satisfying. You must stop by and see for yourself, they have more than pan dulce. Only thing I wish they had names or numbers on their pastries, it’s a little frustrating trying to order and point out things when there’s no labels.

Called the store five minutes after they closed, not only did they answer the phone but they waited for me(three minutes away) and sold me sweet bread! Excellent Service!!!

Stopped here to buy a morning treat for my PT crew and the Cinnamon Rolls from La Popular were a total home run. Inexpensive and good. I just wish they made bread.

I was looking for a good bakery on my way to work and I found the perfect one! I got breakfast for my boyfriend and me for $ 3! And it was delicious! They had a pretty big selection and it all looked SO good! La popular bakery is definitely a new regular place for me! The only thing I would say they need is a bigger selection of good that aren’t sweet, but they still had a lot to choose from

I think I’m in love with their chocolate chip cookies… when I crave cookies I stop here. Now don’t get me wrong they have lots of great bakery items like pan, cookies and donuts. I have tried almost everything here and have to say I haven’t found anything that I didn’t like. The people behind the counter are always real nice and their open till 10pm which makes it so convenient for a quick guilty bag of guilty pleasures. If your in the area and need your fix I recommend stopping on in.

Who’da thunk that a bakery could(and would) be open so late at night? Well, unless you’re a local then you know about Mi Tierra but that’s way out in tourist-land. Took a late night drive the other night and my partners in crime and I decided to take a Bat-turn into La Popular. Alright, maybe not so much as INTO but TO. They had a variety of breads and cookies such as marranitos, empanadas, conchas, and gallettas. The prices are pretty good as well — we ordered several breads and cookies(about 2 small bags worth) and paid only about 5 or 6 bucks.

When i was a kid my uncle, who had a family of six children, used to come over on Sunday’s after church to visit our family, who had seven children, and he would always bring enough pan de dulce for everyone. So long before I associated religion with Sunday’s, I always associated sweet bread and philanthropy with it. La Popular has been a name in our vocabulary for over 30 years and today my children know it well. Today at 6 am I stepped into the hallowed store to the smell of fresh baked sweetbread and steeped up to the case. Mixed among the rows of conch shells, empenadas, pink cakes, cream horns, semitas, campechanas, and jelly rolls, I chose a few things to take home. I usually don’t get doughnuts but since they were fresh I got a couple of glazed and chocolate iced. Pretty close to Krispy Kreme when hot and fresh. Of course no trip to the panderia would be complete without stepping over to the glass annex filled with nothing but cookies. Knowing my daughter and wife’s preferences, it is best to just point to the case and say«Yes». May the tradition live on!
