This was my first time at this shop. It’s clean and a decent place to wait for your haircut. Everyone is treated fairy, and the shop rules are clearly posted. Derek cuts very well, and takes his time, making sure you get exactly the cut you asked for.

This fairly simple barbershop gave me an excellent experience. I arrived in a Tuesday evening and had an opportunity to get a haircut by the owner. Very down to earth guy with a great personality. His skills were very refined with the clippers as well as the scissors. I got a side-​part fade (low)with a tapered neckline and it was one of the way better ones I have had in years. This guy is not a stylist but an authentic barber who can cut and fade with attention to detail. In such a great location not too far from my Alamo ranch location, I finally found a barber who gets it. I’m not hesitating on coming back.

Recommend this shop to all those in the Culebra/​1604 Alamo Ranch area! Derrick’s Pound 4 Pound shop is the real deal, with the old school style & top customer service! Took my 2 boys & I for a quick cut & results were on point. Nice fade work with the clippers & scissor action. Not many barbers left that can do both. Nowadays many barbers are strictly clippers! Finally found a great shop in North West S. A!

My husband and son stopped in here yesterday. I have to say, they got the best haircuts they’ve gotten in a while. I spend so much time hopping from barber to barber trying to keep both of my guys happy. No more hopping! They will be back!!!

I’m new to the area and finding a good barber can be as hard as finding a good mechanic. I stumbled upon this barbershop and was impressed from start to finish. The cut by Derrick was clean, detailed, and tight– he really puts in the time and effort regardless of the crowd The atmosphere is family friendly and Derrick handles himself like a professional. You definitely get your dollars worth.

Derek gets it done. He’s consistent on quality and doesn’t rush through your cut. Now that he has his own shop I highly recommend Derek for a cut. When I have a business meetings for work, conferences, business trips I can always count on Derek to fix me up right so I look fresh and clean.
Taper fade, low fade, hard parts are my regular cuts…

I needed a nice fade and taper for the morning. Searched Unilocal for something nearby 1604 and culebra. I found pound4pound show up. He was able to get me in before closing and did an awesome job on the fade and edge up. He used a straight razor for extra clean line. This is my go to place from now on

I was cursing in my car. when i saw that i needed a fresh cut. I saw a shop called pound 4 pound i was like ok lets try them out! Dammit!!! Derek the barber/​owner is on his game!!! My hair is cool like a cat!!! Go see big sexy Derek.
