Puerto Ricans are going to go back to the island here. It dosen’t have everything but HEB wouldn’t carry this much stuff either so this market has a purpose to satisfy the islanders needs and it does. Here you can buy the plantains to make maduros, the guava or mango paste for the children. Goya has done a good job og getting alot of the foods that are typical of the islands in a cans. ITs a great place to shop for different tastes, and I highly recommend it.

My friends and I grew up in Miami, FL and were raised eating delicious Cuban food. The other night, we all decided to get together and make a traditional Cuban meal. At first, we could only find a few ingredients. Then, we hit the Mother Lode when we found International Food Market. They have all of the traditional Goya products(like frozen Tostones, fried plantains, pastelitos), Paella in a box, Edmundo vino seco, Mojo Criollo, etc. They even import the big avocados from Miami! Reynaldo, the owner, was really friendly, too. He speaks English and Spanish fluently and made everyone feel at home. For a gem of a Hispanic Grocery Store, go to this market, right off of Nacogdoches and 410.
