Lots of books to chose from. I recommend coming here to find movies and books before going anywhere else. Their record collection is amazing if you don’t mind digging. That is the only thing they don’t catalog which is a bummer. But everything else they know whether or not they have it or other locations have it which is helpful. The reason I don’t give it 5 stars is the bathroom. It smells so bad. You can smell it from outside the door. I love the true crimes section and I can’t go there because you smell the bathroom. If they fix that I’m sure many people would be much happier.

I stumbled in to one of these when I was living in Washington and instantly fell in love with HPB’s. I especially love that you can get DVD’s at great prices, especially TV Shows. There is so much to choose from in here and also they have great little trinket gifts if you are into that kind of thing.

I’ve been coming to this Half Price Books location for the past couple of years to sell and buy books. In my experience the staff have always been cordial and helpful. I usually can find the books I am looking for and the prices are definitely«half price», much cheaper than you would find at Barnes and Noble or other booksellers. I like that they carry new titles as well as rare books, movies, games and more. Just today I sold some old travel books and novels and made $ 44! If you are looking to buy or sell some books, come here!

I visit this store at least a couple times a week, have for years now. The staff is usually helpful and friendly but last night one of the guys working the cash register was rude. He was having a conversation with his co worker and I stood at the counter for a few minutes before either of them noticed me due to the fact they were so engrossed in their story time. When the other guy acknowledged my presence, I asked for a specific book. The enormously rude employee simply said«No» and didn’t even turn to look at me. And he left it at «No», no other explanation. And it wasn’t only what he said but how he said it that bothered me. It was as if he was irritated that I rudely interrupted his story time. So needless to say, his customer service skills left much to be desired. I would much rather go to Barnes & Noble, and pay full price for a book. At least I know the staff has enough sense to treat a person like a customer.

This place is a gold mine for cheap books, magazines, dvds, comics, and video games. I bought magazines only a month old for 50 cents each. Some popular book titles that would sell for $ 30 at the Barnes & Noble across the street would sell for around $ 7 here. A majority of the products here are second-hand but in surprisingly good condition. Lighting is great, place is clean and well-maintained. Not too many places to sit down if you plan on coming to sit and read but it’s a small price to pay for the amount of money you save if you’re a bookworm, comic book collector or dvd enthusiast. There’s a Fuddruckers right next door so you can buy your reading material here, then head next door for dinner and sit and eat there while reading your copy of Steve Job’s biography. Sitting problem solved. This place is everything you would expect from a bookstore called«Half-Priced Books.»

I’ve bought several books from here. They usually have the book I’m looking for. No complaints.

I have been away from TX for 15 years… so coming back for a visit, I naturally had to visit my favorite place in the world — Half Price Books. I used to sit on the floor of my local HPB in Dallas and look at all the different books, flip through the albums, and just smell all that lovely knowledge… This particular location was very nice inside, very clean — LOTS of lovely books and that wonderful book smell. The smell of knowledge, and nature. As I was roaming the aisles of my favorite old haunt, I recalled a question I had for one of the booksellers. So I sauntered on up to the info booth and cheerfully asked one of the girls a question. Um, yea… mistake número uno? The dear soul I encountered was A) Not Terribly Helpful, and B) Seemed annoyed at my questions, and that I had taken her away from her deep philosophical conversation with her friend behind the counter… BOTH sporting the«I’m totally too cool for you as I look down at you from my hipster horn rimmed glasses.» Um, yea, my dad was the original Hipster… try the 60’s and 70’s man. So… I get it — you’re cool. Yea I guess I was too — once —(Ok…SO I Still am) I mean heck — I didn’t go to Woodstock or anything like that, but I did go to the VERYFIRSTLOLLAPALOOZA… I mean that HAS to count for something on the coolness spectrum — right? I just chalk her attitude up to a bad moment I suppose. And for the record, I LOVE my twenty-something friends. I think they are fresh, and hip, and great! I love their energy! It often reminds me that I still have SO much more living to do! So, though my visit was a little discouraging to say the least, I will never say die! HOWEVER… the kids in THIS particular store MIGHT just want to consider that sometimes we OLD people(anyone beyond 30 right?) MAY actually have something left to contribute to this good olé world. OH yes… and buying power. Did I mention that we geezers have more buying power? LOL Bottom line — still my favorite bookstore in Texas(and as a side note, they are in Northern CA too!!! YAY!!) I might just look for a different location in TX or hope that the gals behind the counter figure out the secret to life, so they will finally take just a little pleasure in helping me find the Pocket Version of John Paul Sartre.

A good place to find analog and digital resources, reference, media, reading material. It is crudely organized, but improvement is understandably difficult. This location seems to have a good turnover of DIY and project oriented type manuals, a large collection of used CDs and DVDs /blurays, staff has always assisted when I asked, but generally has avoided asking to help. Bargain carts are randomly parked around the aisles and storefront with little marking about organization or thematics. 1. What You See Is What You Get– 2. Help yourself, pay on the way out

Half Price Books is my preferred chain bookstore, and this one is good. I have gotten many great books at this location that I wasn’t expecting to find, for great prices. A couple DVDs, too. The one complaint I have is that they don’t seem to have many new selections from month to month in the sections that I frequent; this may have more to do with me and my timing and choice of topics than anything else, though. Generally, I say you can’t go wrong with Half Price Books, and this one definitely is included.
