Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

Just left Freddy’s had lunch with my bride and enjoyed it very much counter person was exceptional went out of her way to help made sure I got my military discount didn’t have to ask for it very friendly place an great hamburger

Well this is awkward. I hate to be the lone dissenter here, buuutttt…
They REALLY screwed up on my first and LAST visit to this particular location.
My friends and I were sitting in the drive-​thru for a good 7 minutes while all of the staff members were laughing and chit-​chatting in the distance. There were zero cars behind us. I thought the food was just taking a while to cook, under the hopeful assumption that the food would be fresh. But that was not the case, so I peered inside and there sitting on the counter was our bag of food. A grill employee noticed me noticing him, so he decided to dawdle over and hand me the bag. How thoughtful of him. When I asked why it had been just sitting there on the counter for so long, he decided to simply close the drive-​thru window on me. Alrighty then!
When I called to address this situation with the manager, he was just as much of a dolt as the employee in question. And to top it all off, our meat patties tasted like they were 10 seconds away from being charred chili-​meat in a 99-​cent bowl of chili from Wendy’s.
Not returning.

This is about the best burger place we have eaten at in San Antonio very fresh and tasty clean place and very nice employees!

This location has a reputation for errors. My visit a few days ago makes 2 bad experiences in a row. Each mistake involved not getting items I ordered and each time the staff was clueless. This location doesn’t pay attention to any details. During my most recent visit, I ordered a single cheeseburger with no special requests at drive thru. The girl read the order back correctly. I had to wait a long time on the only car in front of me at the window. This was because their order was messed up. The customers were passing bags and other items back and forth to the girl at the window to give back wrong items and receive the right ones. When I got to the window, the girl apologized for the long wait and handed me my food — which was the wrong item. She apologized and said the order was entered wrong. She said they could put another order in for me. I was on my lunch break and had already waited long enough on the previous mistakes so I left them with them with the unpaid food I didn’t order and returned to work.
On a previous visit, I attempted to dine inside and ordered a hotdog. It came out with wrong toppings and the girl at the counter had no idea how to handle it. She disappeared for several minutes and came back with another worker who made me repeat what had happened. She took the hotdog and told me to wait… which I did for a few more minutes and assumed she was making another hotdog. She brought my original hotdog back out and proudly exclaimed that she had removed all the unwanted toppings in the kitchen and it was now ready. The hotdog was cold by this time. I asked for a refund which was difficult for them to process. It’s only a couple $‘s, but I’m not going to pay for cold incorrect food. It really surprised me that they wouldn’t make a new hotdog the way I first ordered.
Fortunately I still love Freddy’s and prefer their burgers to all the other chains. I’ll still be visiting other SA Freddy’s, but never this one.

Screwups. Charged me for a lesser item, I showed them I owed more. Big mistake. Mgr? shows up gives me wrong change, I give some back, eventually got food, fries were cold, burger Ok. Just not a good visit. Should have gone elsewhere and will next time. This store sucks, every other Freddy’s is wonderful…

Three words. Single half-​n-​half waffle cone. Ok, maybe 4, or 5 or whatever. Burgers have thin meat and the fries are plentiful. The employees are cute and friendly.

We have become Freddy’s addicts. The burgers are so tasty. The meat is a thin airy patty that packs a lot of flavor. They serve it with long, thick slices of pickles, and any fixings you like. I order the #1, my daughter gets a plain burger but ever since she discovered chili, she’s gotta have it on her fries. The custards are delicious and come in small size that doesn’t overwhelm your pansa at the end of the meal. I always wind up here when I go in search of burgers. My dad doesn’t like the thin fries but it makes me feel like I’m not stuffing my face as much. :)

This Freddy’s is a great place. Their thin and taste burgers are good but their thin fries, specially when hot, are excellent. I eat from Freddy’s almost every week. Great place overall.

Really like the party melt if I am in the mood for some comfort food! Fries are awesome!

Freddy’s is my new favorite fast food place. I am glad it is becoming established in new developments next to nice sit-​down restaurants, because I think they are much classier than your average McDonalds or Burger King.
I am often a victim of «food ordering anxiety» and it becomes a game of roulette as I spin through 5 different items on the menu I want until I am asked to place my order and whatever I am thinking of at the time, gets ordered. One of the menu items (I believe its number 4?) cures my anxiety by providing a hotdog and medium burger all in one combo. I was highly impressed by this offering.
I have gone back a time or two just to order the chocolate milkshake (which I think they call a «concrete»… still unsure about that one) and it was AMAZING for a fast food restaurant. It is a dark chocolate color and has a substantial flavor. I was blown away. And it comes with whipped cream and a cherry… I am partial to the classics.
Not my absolute favorite burger place, but when time is of the essence, I will be choosing Freddy’s.

I like their thin flavorful steak patties. Though as I want to have the meat dominate any burger I have to go with the double. The lettuce an tomatoes are a must for me too. But then I like almost everything on my burger.
I like the thin cut fries and the little cups that they are severed in. Can stand them up and go at them.
For me a step above your typical fast food place. Always a good choice for a meal on the run.
