Second time here and NOTagain! Walking in is enough of an experience to turn off all but the most hardy. Smells like grungy, dirty mop water. No one at the«reception» and no sign saying be seated. Stood around waiting for someone to approach me… nothing…No menu, no waitress only a group of folks drinking at the bar… Still no recognition… Finally a waitress(?) after15 minutes comes and asks for my drink order«Coffee», «I will make some». No menu… Finally got a menu and ordered in between the waitress’s hugs and conversation with the people at the bar… Waiting, waiting no coffee, no water. I see my burger in the kitchen window sitting, sitting for more than 10 minutes in the window. no food, no coffee, no water but lots of conversation and hugs at the bar… Enough, I left. Never again!!!

Been coming to Firehouse since 2005, seen it change many times. I’m not too sure about this most recent incarnation. Honestly don’t think that many others are feeling it either because as I sit here, there aren’t that many people here enjoying Poker Night on a hot Summer Night as they normally do. Three tables going, total. They’ve made some other changes, like the kitchen now closing at 11 rather than 1 like it use to. This was a lifesaver to me many nights when I would get off late and needed a place to stop and get some good meals and a little company before I headed home from work and school. The service wasn’t all that hot tonight either. Just hoping it’s an off night for them.

Not a bad local bar. Disappointed in the chips and queso, which in south Texas is a sin! But good draft beer selection and very friendly bar staff, James in particular was great. I will be back.

Good place — very pub and grill atmosphere. I had the wings which were large and quite spicy, but a little wetter than I prefer — still very good value. My friends had steak and everyone liked it. The restaurant part is removed from the bar and from the poker room. There seemed like a fun trivia game going on in the bar area. I really want to return for poker — not exactly sure how it works but it seems like you get a certain number of chips free then it is tournament hold ‘em for a prize(not sure if this prize is cash or a bar tab). Fun place!

Food was good, not great but good. Restaurant is old, dark, and dirty. Sticky chairs and woodwork Arrived for Friay lunch at noon and the place was nearly deserted, only 3 other tables occupied. Despite being so empty, the service was glacially slow. Over 30 minutes from order to table for 2 sandwiches ordered exactly off the menu, no modifications, including one of their advertised featured lunch items. Food was hot and fresh, so I assume it was the cook holding it up. No apology or explanation was offered for the delay. Additionally, all screens in the eating area were tuned to Bones. I normally sit care what a restaurant shows, but I do NOT want to see a burned-black human body right before eating a pulled pork, KWIM? Have some situational awareness and change the channel! The bar area had hockey on, that would have been just fine. For the price, I expected better service.

So going in for the first time, seeing the reviews on here, I was very skeptical. Turns out, they were off, big time! This place was GREAT! OUr sever was super friendly, nice, and conversational, ANDPATIENT being as how we chatted along time before ordering. They have a very decent beer selection, better than other places of this similar type(I lean more towards the dark beers). The appetizer of Fried Pickles were incredible, their batter was off the chain! We went to town on them. My friend had a salad and I had the Philly Cheese Stake Sandwich with ½ fries and ½ Onion Rings. The Philly was excellent and their rings are HUGE and delicious! The fries were just regular so next time I’ll do the full order of rings. My friend lover her salad too. We didn’t encounter any of the bad stuff we read about and look forward to hitting it up again.

The food is ok. The service is terrible. Ordered a mixed drink and sent it back. On the next visit tried another mixed drink and it was worse, they need real bartens

The food is okay and the drinks were okay… Personally… I don’t think I’ll ever come back to this place. The women that are dressed like Hooters chicks probably should not be dressing that way… LOL As far as a waitress I think she’s 12 she knows nothing about cocktails! All in all this place is pretty shady, it’s well lit… so if you get shot somebody will be able identify the person!

This is the second time we have been here and my glass had chips of glass in it. I noticed it after taking a sip full of pieces of glass. When I spoke to the Manager all he said was«that sucks» he didn’t apologize, offer me another glass of water or compensate me at all. We will not be back and will make sure to tell our friends who attend Geeks Who Drink weekly as well as the bi-monthly themed quizes. I am beyond disappointed and mad about the entire situation.

I had never been here and now I know why. The place reeked like a fish market in 100degree heat that hadn’t been cleaned in 2 days — I should have turned around and walked out but it was after midnight and we were only placing a to-go order and I didn’t want Whataburger(I should have gone to Whataburger) We sat at the bar and even tho the place was empty it still took quite a few minutes to be acknowledged — seriously, we were the ONLY people sitting at the bar and there were two bartenders. An order for two appetizers took over 30 minutes. Maybe the kitcehn was too busy with the no other orders that were coming in, cause the ten other people in the entire place were only drinking. Horrible atmosphere and questionable service — I will not be back.

I come in for lunch and I always order the grilled chicken with ½ fries and ½ onion rings. It is always really good, better than most other restaurants. I wish they had a better beer specials during the day. The service is always good.

Something different from TGI Fridays or Applebee’s. I go here with my family for UFC events, which drama a good crowd. People don’t get obnoxious and the projection screen is HD. Food is your typical bar chain type food. I really like their wings and fried mushrooms. Nothing else really stands out. Drinks aren’t bad, but specials are kind of weak. Especially during events. I’ve been here several times for PPVs and games and never experienced bad service. I’ll def be going back.

The few times I’ve been to Firehouse, it’s been because of trivia night. Maybe my experiences were because the kitchen was slammed with the extra people — maybe not. I ordered a burger off their menu that has grilled jalapenos, salsa, and pepper jack cheese, and asked that there be no onions and that they use cheddar cheese instead. When the waitress brought my burger, she said that they had accidentally put the wrong kind of cheese on, and was it ok or did I want another one? It wasn’t a huge deal to me and I was hungry, so I just took the burger as it was, wrong cheese be damned. She walked away and I noticed that there were no jalapenos or salsa on the burger either… when she finally came back to our table, I let her know of the problem. She brought a manager over, who took my burger back to the kitchen and brought it back along with a small bowl of salsa and a bowl of cold pickled(not grilled) jalapenos. By that time, the burger was cold and I was tired of dealing with trying to get my burger right. It tasted fine, I suppose, for a cold burger that wasn’t what I ordered. My tablemate ordered a bacon cheeseburger, plain and dry. When it arrived with mustard smeared all over it, he notified the waitress. «Oh,» she said. «Do you want me to take it back?» … uh, YES. She did, and a new burger was brought out. It looked like it was a new burger instead of just wiped off, so there’s that I guess. I expected a comp on our bill since of the 3 food items we ordered(we had to get a dessert, of course), 2 were straight up wrong. We received no comp and a quick apology each time our order was(kinda) corrected. The beers were fine, except that half the time our Blue Moons that were on special came with an orange on it, the other half with nothing. The service was adequate – as we were there for several hours for trivia, we were in no rush, so I have nothing to complain about there. Firehouse is a necessary evil if I want to play trivia there… I think next time I’ll eat dinner before I go and just enjoy some beers there instead.

This place is hit and miss. Sometimes the food, drinks and service are good and other times they are subpar. I think a lot of it just depends on who’s working that day. If you’re looking for a relatively cheap place for after work drinks and bar food on the northeast side, then you could do worse.

Awful service, it took forever to get drinks and food. Our waters came out both with lemons when we had asked for limes and oranges. When we FINALLY got our cheese fries, the fries were barely warm and the cheese was coagulated. The tables haven’t been wiped down and the waitresses were not friendly at all. The only plus was cheap drinks. Boooo.

Firehouse has a very large dining area with TVs and fire department paraphernalia and a huge room reserved for pool, poker tournaments, and more. I’ve even seen someone with a netbook there, so possibly wi-fI? I have gone there three times and always on a Wednesday when their Geeks Who Drinks Night is hosted. It’s free and very fun but can get pretty vulgar so some might want to keep the kids at home on Wednesday nights. Or not, hey! They offer prizes for answering questions correctly, such as free beers, random novelty items, and small gift certificates. But we really just do it for bragging rights! Will be back every week for sure. Oh, yeah… the food! Try the Cuban sandwich(ask for mayo!), the pizzas, and the huge glasses of beer for under $ 4.
