Fancy Feet Ballroom

I admit, I was terrified to walk into this dance studio on my first day of class, but I’m so glad I did. I was immediately put at ease and had a great lesson! I developed confidence with the kind, funny, and patient instructors, and learned that I don’t have two left feet! I had to move away for college, but I will always be thankful to this studio for teaching me dance and a dose of self confidence. Excellent studio, great location, great prices. Take a chance!

I was able to take a sampling of classes while in Texas earlier this year and my visit to San Antonio and Fancy Feet was a stand out!
I highly recommend that you dance the night away with Fancy Feet!

My partner and I took both private and group lessons over a four month period from May 2014 to September 2014 and during that time gained a great deal more confidence and pleasure from country western dancing. The privates we took with Bryan helped remove much of the awkwardness and stiffness from our dancing. Jenna helped me pick out some great boots that almost felt like ballet shoes and I found I could dance for hours without blisters. As the founder of Fancy Feet, she has always been encouraging of all the students to apply what they learn from the classes to actual dance halls and has organized many outings. Tess taught some of the group classes, both country and Latin, and she is an amazing dancer to both watch and learn from and is always focused on making sure everyone in her class is both learning and having a good time. The location off Bitters is easy to get to and has an abundance of parking. Although I did not take every class they offered (and there were many) all of the instructors seemed to know what they were doing. Would highly recommend to any couple who wishes to increase their «connnection» time with one another to individuals who want to simply learn (no partner needed). The classes improved my balance and were great exercise. These classes work for just about any age. No one is too old to learn here.

I am so excited to be back at this Dance Studio. Jenna, Tess, Jason, Brian… just to name a few of the instructors, are passionate, patient and fun! Their love for Dance… all kinds, is very apparent when you walk in the door. The environment is always warm, friendly and encouraging. Definitely worth it!

As a beginner, I was looking for a place that was fun and relaxed, yet would also provide quality dance instruction. I found all of that at Fancy Feet Ballroom. I was a little nervous at first, because I was afraid I’d walk into a studio where everyone was waltzing around in perfect time while some pinch-​faced, school marm sternly clapped her hands (maybe just bad memories from my childhood ballet days?) Instead I found a young, energetic and non-​judgmental environment with extremely knowledgable instructors.
Jenna invites you into her studio as if she was inviting you into her living room. She wants everyone to just hang out, dance and have a great time. A private lesson or a group class would make an excellent date night — you can learn a new dance and then head over to Umai Mi for drinks and dinner.
But, if you’re flying solo, not to worry! A partner is not required to attend either a private or group lesson. There are lots of folks who come on their own and there’s always a partner to dance with. All the instructors are required to know both the lead and follow steps, so sometimes you get lucky and your partner is the instructor.
I was a little dismayed to read one of the reviews below because I think it’s pretty apparent that particular person really just didn’t understand the pricing and has chosen to unleash their anger on a non-​profit. Non-​profit means just that — they don’t make a profit in exchange for providing a service or benefit to the community.

Last week my daughter completed a week of kid’s dance camp at Fancy Feet Ballroom! She did such a great job! Jenna was great with the kids and was able to teach them a routine that was challenging but at their level. My daughter loved it and keeps showing her dance to everyone she meets! I love her excitement about ballroom dance! I’m looking forward to the upcoming kids dance classes!

I enjoy dancing at clubs and top 40 music, but my girlfriend really wants to try Ballroom dances like International, Swing, Salsa, and Merengue. Jenna is an excellent teacher and is very friendly & patient while giving instructions. That was a big plus for me. I will be making my girlfriend happy, and we know a happy woman makes a happy home, when I’m able to go out and dance with her at more places than just a traditional nightclub. Highly recommended for men and women students looking to learn from a great instructor.

Jenna is a wonderfully experienced dancer who is able to convey her knowledge to those with significantly less grace in a manner that is poignant and professional. She is an excellent lead. I personally find it easiest to learn dance while being led.
We worked together over the span of about three lessons during which I learned the basic steps for the merengue, salsa, cha-​cha, two-​step and west coast swing.
Jenna’s easy-​going nature made private lessons a joy, and her persistence combined with a positive attitude keeps her students returning. My time spent in Texas was brief, which was the only reason I took less than a handful of lessons.
If I can learn to dance, Anyone can! :)
