The food is good but why do the waitresses assume everyone speaks Spanish? She talks in Spanish and I answer in English. Very frustrating. Asked for a side of rice and got fries. WTF.

This is what I think of when I think an SA Mexican food dive — right down to the Spurs and Cowboys murals on the outside. Used to go here all the time during my St Mary’s years. Great lunch specials very tasty and a very good breakfast, though my fellow Rattlers from the border preferred other breakfast tacos — tortillas are not up to awesome status — very good though. I like the pork chop but everything I have tried here is great!

You have to try the carne guisada tacos with cheese! Best in town! Great customer service!

I’m not sure but I think the tacos were too greasy, the frijoles were good but the horchata was kind of sweet for my taste.

Okay, first off, let me tell you why I give this place 5 stars. This place has 8 – 10 everyday lunch specials that include beef and chicken fajita plates, carne guisada, pork chops, enchiladas verdes, beef enhiladas, and a few others, all for $ 4.99…with tea and a bowl of delicious fideo. I mean, c’mon…you can’t beat that! I am partial to the chicken fajitas and the enchiladas verdes, but i’ve tried every one of the lunch specials and they’re all great! The waitresses are friendly and quick and i’ve never once had an issue to speak of. I would defnitely recommend this place to any and all that like good mexican food at a great bargain.
