One star not for food but for being out of chicken breast during lunch hour. Seriously? You are a chicken establishment and no excuse for not having product ready during peak hours. Poor planning and execution. Guess Taco Cabana gets my business today.

We drove all the way from Austin and make it a point to eat here. It’s our tradition to eat here before going to seaworld. Wish they would open one in pflugrville

Way way overpriced and very small pieces. I paid $ 23.00 for an 8piece with two sides. When I got home I was surprised how small the chicken was. The wings were as small as my little finger. So it really was a 6piece for $ 23.00. They are twice as expensive as fried chicken and they serve micro chicken. I love the flavor, but is it worth it? It will be awhile before I go back and it will never be for the micro chicken 8 piece.

The service in the drive-thru is always pretty bad at this El Pollo Loco. I always have to ASK for a straw and napkins. Ridiculous. If you are ordering a drink, a straw should pretty much be a given.

Food is pretty good. But, the wait for your food, especially in the drive thru line, is absolutely terrible. I waited in the drive thru for over 30 minutes for my food this evening. There weren’t many cars ahead of me when I got there and, based on my husband’s last experience, I knew it wouldn’t go any more quickly if I went inside. Then, when I finally pulled up to the window, I received no apology or even an acknowledgement that the wait was long. Ridiculous.

1st visit to Pollo Loco. Pulled up to drive thru. Lady said hello and asked me for my order. I explained that I had never been there before and to please give me a minute. After about 2 minutes I was asked to either place my order or come inside. There were no other cars in line. I wasn’t sure what I wanted. I drove off. Don’t like being rushed. That awkward moment when you realize you’ve mixed up El Pollo Loco and Taco Bueno. Nonetheless I was already there in the drive thru and there were several cars behind me so I decided to go ahead and order. I ordered cheese enchiladas, chips/queso and a drink. The enchiladas were incredibly dry. Whatever seasoning or sauce they top them was not enough I almost wished I had just asked them to drape the queso on top of their in instead of that sauce. The cheese inside the enchiladas was not any better — it was almost like string cheese and had an interesting texture and bad taste to it. I rarely throw away food, but I ended up just eating the chips and queso and tossing everything else. All things considered the menu prices are steep for the quality of food and I don’t see what all the rave and fuss is about around this place.

This is so typical of Texas! A chain that always has good service & food in California is completely the opposite here! We just stopped by and ordered the 8 piece leg/thighs with French fries, rice, and flour tortillas. When we got home, we discovered small pieces of chicken with some shredded off, corn tortillas, half a bag of fries, and crunchy, half-cooked rice. This is absolutely ridiculous & we will not be going here again. However, every El Pollo Loco location in California would receive 4 – 5 stars. Once again disappointed by the service we’ve always received in Texas.

First let me say I love El Pollo Loco. I ususally go to this location when I am in town since we stay at the Hamton Inn at 410/Jones Maltz. I always get the bowl, which is perfection, if only I could 86 the pico and add tomatoes and cilantro and lime. They don’t have lime, they have lemon. Hmm. interesting. I wish cotija cheese came on top as a default. but it doesn’t. but that’s ok I still love it. Lately Ive been trying to expand my EPL resume. I tried the cobb salad, but oddly the chicken was very chewy… and its never chewy. Must have just got he bad batch of chicken b/c it was not much of it to begin with… and its usually very abundant in the original bowl. and second, it felt skimpy. better to opt for a bowl with a side salad for $ 1 that way I can get the best of both worlds. also try the corn fritter salad. I think that’s what its called. delish. problem: I always leave so full from here… most don’t find that a problem. but EPL is always so filling its a problem for me! but I love it! I do have to deduct a star for the tables not being bussed, and I mean all the tables were that way. everyone I was going to sit at. I only noticed bc I was wearing a white skirt… it matters more than If I was wearing dark denim! LoL another star deducted for the chewy chicken.

I swung by here for a quick salad today. No line, great service and that’s where it ended… I ordered a Mango Avocado Chicken Salad… pretty simple and the thought of mango in my salad is what sold me on the choice. I get back to my office… open my salad… and low and behold… there are about 5 itty bitty bites of mango in my salad. The whole point of getting this salad was the mango… but not enough mango in the salad to fit in a teaspoon. Made me sad and was very anticlimactic. The only plus was the fact that they had coke Zero in a fountain drink. I’ll go back… just not for that stupid salad.

While coming home from the VA Hospital my husband and I were starving. You know when you have spent more than half a day at a doctor office just to see a doctor for 10 – 15 minutes kind of hungry. Well that’s what we were. I haven’t been to a El Pollo Loco since 1998⁄99 in LA. So I told my husband why not try it again. I ordered a two piece meal this rice black beans. My husband ordered a grilled chicken salad. My chicken was dry. Like it had been sitting on the grill for quite a while. It was good but really dry to the point where the food in your mouth just puckers. I love th salsa bar and the cilantro sauce yum. To me it was about average as being as hungry as we were. We might try it again but I know my kids would rather have fried chicken over dried chicken.

Thanks to my new deals app; I was able to triple dip on the price! Not only that, but I saved money that I was going to spend on dinner anyway, therefore; I can now throw more savings into my vacation piggy bank for future trips! I LOVE the WV lifestyle

All you sell is chicken! How do you«run out of chicken»!!! It’s not difficult. If you are running low on chicken… COOKMORECHICKEN!!! Apparently this is a very difficult concept to understand at El Pollo Loco.

This place has good food and quick service. They keep it pretty well clean and friendly. I must not be the only one that likes it since its always busy when I go. Though busy not slow! Could use a bit more parking but there are local business near that dont mind customers parking in the lost near by.

I write this not as a review but as a public health warning… ok and partially as a review too. — From the moment I walked in, there was paper and garbage on the floor. — The tables were filthy thus making seating very limited. — The clientele corresponded with the setting. Most, if not all, were conversing so loud on their cell phone that if they spoke any louder they wouldn’t have needed a phone. Some had crying babies with soiled diapers.
— The portions, and flavors of the food itself were PATHETIC. Chewing on ones nails can offer more flavors and nourishment Between the service, the food itself and ambiance, this place didn’t miss an opportunity that qualifies itself a visit from a Bexar county health inspector! Describing this place as «the scene from star wars cantina» would be an improvement!

I do not usually waste my time reviewing fast food restaurants, but for this place I had to make an exception. Sadly it is not of a positive nature. I have been to this location several times and there are only a couple of items I order: typically the chicken tortilla roll(which is stellar) with the cilantro cream sauce(which blows my mind!), and occasionally a crispy chicken taco(also pretty stellar). Unfortunately the service here, particularly drive-thru, leaves a lot to be desired. I can count maybe two times that I have not been asked to pull around to the front to wait on my order. Once I have pulled around, as expected, I have been forgotten about once, and made to wait in excess of five minutes more times than not. I am rarely given any sort of apology for the delay– at least not one that is even remotely plausible for the amount of time they take. If it weren’t for the relatively good product, I would not come back. Sadly even when dining in, it is not much better. I had one stellar experience with an upbeat, super friendly guy, but on other occasions I have waited at the front of the store for several minutes before being acknowledged or addressed by an employee. Customer service leaves A LOT to be desired.

AsI’vesaid beforeI don’t usualy review fast food chains, but I felt like I had to do this one. I had discovered the greatness of the crazy chicken when I lived in LA, where you could spit and hit a location. In fact my regular El Pollo Loco in Hollywood at Sunset and La Brea used to deliver to my house. You could bet that my roomate and I ordered from there on average about once a week. This location in San Antonio, not too far from where I live, defintely lives up to the ones I ate at in LA. Their chicken is delicious and their menu reflects a healthier way to eat chicken rather than the fried options that other places offer.

If there was one of these near my home I would eat there every day! If ou are looking for healthy fast food, this is your ticket! I had roasted chicken, steamed veggies and BBQ black beans. Add corn tortillas and you have yourself a healthy lunch. Service was fast too. The veggies were broccoli, cauliflower and carrots and they were al dente!

There is only ONE thing that I like about El Pollo Loco and that is CLARENCE the cashier! He’s the one thing people keep coming back for. He has the best energy and is so friendly. Let him know you read this review. It will make his day. Other than that, the food is nothing special. But I come back to say hello to Clarence who gives the best customer service ever!
