This place can get a little crowded from 11:30am — 12:30pm but I never waited longer than 15 min to get a table. Very friendly and fast service. This place has a different daily specials with tea starting at $ 4.45. Tacos are the best in town. Be aware, it is cash only!

Let me tell ya… this place is legit. Absolutely most authentic Mexican food. We both got chorizo and egg tacos both times. Real deal HOMEMADE tortillas. Tasted like my mother in law’s homemade.(And she’s Mexican) :) And you cannot bear the price. I felt like I was ripping them off. Very cheap.

Juevos Rancheros for under $ 3. Substitute a porkchop and a cup of coffee and you are still under $ 5. What a deal. Also comes with homemade tortillas hot from the grill… This is the San Antonio original and the look and feel is exactly that. The locals fill this place up every day. I may go back for lunch — noted one of the specials today is steak enchiladas for $ 4.50. The only thing holding me back is the required recovery time after a meal here. I left half the food on the plate only because they bring so much. This place was recommended by Cousin Dewayne, a local. I never miss it when traveling to San Antonio. We have also been to the newer one on the North side of town… it is more modern and family friendly but both serve great food.

I love the breakfast tacos here! The flour tortillas are made to perfection and no matter what you choose to eat, nothing will disappoint. They also serve fountain sodas and are really easy on the wallet! It gets really packed on weekends and the drive thru usually has a long line, even during the week. So if you have to make a taco run, just make sure you visit Eddies!

Every neighborhood needs an Eddie’s — Consistent and cheap comfort food. I just had a full day of meal from this spot — breakfast, lunch and leftover for dinner. I never knew that I can like Mexican food this much. Must be those homemade tortillas! They were seriously the best I’ve had, fluffy and tasty. The breakfast here is defiantly the bomb. Chorizo and eggs plus smokettes and potatoes will make you wish it is morning all over again. The lunch options are equally enticing. The portion here is so ridiculous that I ended up taking my leftover to my flight for dinner. As you can imagine, I was envied by many on my flight as I obnoxiously opened my box of chicken enchilada in the air. The best thing about this no-frill neighborhood joint is the price. There was nothing over $ 7 on the entire menu! My huge breakfast and lunch plate were only $ 4-$ 5 each. My everyday morning coffee would easily cost me $ 4! Hmmm… maybe I can eat my way to becoming a billionaire here in San Antonio!

Friday I stopped by here for a late breakfast. It is cash only, so be aware before you enter the drive-thru. Service was fast and the tacos were decent. The papa ranchera was a little mushy for my liking and the chorizo was greasy, but that’s to be expected. I’d return when I need a quick bite on the run. However, it’s not my favorite taco place in town.

Today, Friday, 1÷22÷16 I had the Chicken Enchiladas. The food was delicious. Most impressive is the generous amount of food you get. The food was overflowing on my plate and the price is very reasonable. I keep going back because I enjoy their food, so I do recommend you give it a try. I uploaded a photo.

Came in on a Saturday morning at 6:30. I was told this place had the best Carne guisada in town… I will never belive anything anyone says ever again. Our tacos were soggy and took way too long to get to our table. keep in mind that we were the only people in here at the time. The carne guisada was cold. Almost like it was frozen over night and just reheated. We were very disappointed and will not be returning. I guess that’s why we stick to our original(TOMMYS) just down the street.

Mmmm… the best breakfast tacos. The flour tortillas taste just like my mommy’s! Everything is soooo good. Faves, chorizo and egg taco, bean and bacon taco, and the chicken puffy tacos! Delicioso!. Also, just cash only… that’s why 4 stars

I was highly disappointed with this restaurant. Order a beef gordita plate, the beef should’ve been a fajita but it wasnt, instead I got something like a hamburger helper. The rice wasn’t even season and it taste like the public school would serve.

Eddie’s is the sh*t. After watching my coworkers chow down on their tacos at least once a week I finally decided to give in and shun my pathetic lunch from home. Oh my god. These tacos are ridiculous. At first I thought they seemed pricey compared to what I’m used to paying for my west side breakfast taco specials but they are HUGE and so delicious. The flour tortillas are warm and fluffy, yet stand up to even the most challenging of fillings. The carne guisada is super tender and served up with plenty of gravy. The bean and cheese taco alone could probably do you for lunch or breakfast and you can taste the bacon in the beans with every bite. I haven’t even tried their house salsas yet because what I’ve tasted is so good already. I was a little disappointed to see that they’re generally out of lengua, but I’ve come to find that standard at a lot of places since it doesn’t seem to be ordered very frequently. I was tempted to go four stars because being cash only when you’re this popular is a little ridiculous and the drive through line can get nuts so I don’t recommend it if you’re worried about making it to work on time or only have half an hour for lunch and aren’t right next door… But five — no, six! — stars for flavor and technique and for serving breakfast tacos all day.

Best breakfast tacos in town so far. Very popular place for breakfast. SAFEPLACE to eat breakfast with San Antonio Police Department everywhere you turn in the restaurant. Restrooms clean. Waitresses are friendly. Will come again soon. The ONLY thing they should change is the CASHONLY. It’s a drag when you need to go out of your way to get cash. They might loose customers who decide to go somewhere when all they have is credit with them.

Cheap and delicious. Everyone is right, it is cash only but there is an ATM right inside so there is no excuse. We ordered the nachos for an appetizer and they were great and it was a huge amount(enough to feed 5 of us). The tacos were so good, the rice and beans were great. I will definitely visit again the next time that I’m in town.

Not the best first experience. I expected a wait, as this place always seems packed, but it was much longer than anticipated. We grabbed a seat as soon as we walked in, but weren’t ready to order the first time she came around(we had never been before), so the waitress didn’t come back for over 10 minutes. Once she got our order, we waited over 40 minutes to get our food. In order to appease us(we never complained or mentioned the long wait) she offered to bring us chips(which she never provided). Then our food came. After all that waiting, I didn’t even get what I ordered. I got a single carne guisada taco instead of the plate I was expecting. I’m super hungry at this point and wait for the waitress to tell her the issue. She asked me if the taco is fine, or if she should fix the order. I asked her to bring the plate, so she walks away leaving the taco. I’m thinking this is, «hey sorry I screwed up and placed the wrong order and didn’t bring you chips so you can keep the taco,» so I take a bite. She later comes back and asks if I would like to keep the taco. Ummmm? Well, I already took two bites. But whatever. Do as you please. She then says she is going to ask if I can keep it. Alrighty then. Then, doesn’t ask anyone and doesn’t take the taco until she brings my plate. To top it off, the food was underwhelming. Yes, the flour tortillas were awesome, but aside from that, nothing stood out. The carne guisada gravy was slightly sweet and the meat was not as moist as it could have been. The rice was dry to the point of almost being crunchy. The pancake plate was nothing special either. It was all edible, but nothing noteworthy. I think if I return, I will stick with the drive-thru and only order tacos. It is obvious that there is something keeping this place hopping, I just didn’t get the chance to experience it.

Cheap! Cash only. Drive through tacos!!! Yes please!!! Delicious tortillas. HUGE breakfast tacos. Migas needed pico — with only egg and tortilla strips, they lacked a bit of flavor. Ask for extra salsa. Easy access — close to I-35

I live TOOCLOSE to Eddie’s to make any excuses about why I haven’t eaten here a million times… damn. It’s delicious. To be fair, I’ve only tried the breakfast tacos, but I probably will only be stopping here for breakfast tacos anyway. The flour tortillas are absolutely homemade and very fresh. Quite honestly, my favorite flour tortilla to this day. Plenty of scrambled eggs and melted, gooey cheese, with whatever you want to throw in there. I love their refried beans, which I rarely say if they aren’t refried black beans. The tortillas are fairly large, I can only eat one, and they put a good amount of yummers inside. Eddie’s drive thru is a great feature, but make sure you have cash if you come here! Service is quick and friendly. Prices are very inexpensive. Like I said, I should have been a regular here already!

Prices are low! Worth paying with cash! Pork chop hard except around the bone. My huevos were not medium but easy. They give u plenty of beans and potatoes but lack taste. Potatoes mushy. Oh well, cheap is cheap.

Woke up in my car in Southtown. On my way home, damn train was in the way. What the hell, took detour to ETH. As I hung overly approached from the parking lot, saw hand written sign for huevos rancheros for $ 1. Fucking 79. Really? True story. Hell, can’t beat huevos rancheros after a shot filled night along the I-35 corridor starting in San Marcos. The only«bad» thing was the salsa on top of the eggs; tasted just. Like. Pureed tomatoes. I thought they were huevos marinara. Good thing each table has a bottle of their green, spicy salsa-gracias Diosito! Oh. And don’t ask me how I made it to Southtown.
