Once a great hobby shop that seems to be struggling now. I love the old school charm, but the collapsing ceiling & tiles peeling off the floor, not mention empty paint racks — are unnerving. Good Luck guys!

Over all, the staff is very helpful and this place articulates everything that is good in the hobby of model trains. However, all of the pricing is at MRSP and I often have trouble finding things in-stock that I need. For last minute purchase, this place is great. However, make sure you call ahead to see if what you need is in-stock. For general purchases, your best price is online.

A friend suggested I visit Dibbles, in fact he stated«you must make it no matter what». Well I did on my visit to Dallas and San Antonio, I live in Maryland. It was much more than just a hobby store it was an experience like being in a time machine. Everything about the store including the way the owner was so informative and positive left me with many reasons to return. If I was lucky to live in the area, I would be there once or even twice every week. If you have never built a plane, car or ship, it’s time you did. If you ever wanted to recreate a scene from some war movie or any other diorama now is the time to start. If you have kids take them to Dibbles, away from electronics, let them experience creativity, you will thank me for it. Jimmy T. From Maryland.

An excellent old-style hobby store. We found model train supplies, models, and tons of gaming supplies. No website, but very helpful staff. Because it is old-school, expect an overwhelming number of kits.

I went in today looking for something that would challenge my 16 yr old grandson. The owner spent quality time with me discussing various options, games, miniatures, etc and I was able to chose just the right gift. They were most helpful, knowledgeable and helpful and I was very impressed. They price fairly, are generous and are very kind. My favorite hobby store of all times.

The name of the store has been around since 1905. As for this Donaldson Avenue location has been around since 1960 also is one of the first Strip Mall styled buildings. In the early 1990s the shop needed a new owner two siblings who been buying supplies from Dibbles for YEARS(also one of them worked there). Decided to purchase the store. And is now run by the Brother and Sister Duo. I really love going here they know whats-what with painting kits. And Mr. Chladek is very helpful with painting techniques. Paint wise they carry: Vallejo Model Color Vallejo Model Air(sells fast) Model Master Citadel Tamiya(not so much anymore hard to import it) Prices are great here and they have the most paint I’ve ever seen. If you need something they can probably order it for you, too. They also have a very nice selection of WW2 Kits and If I recall table tops too. On the right of the store little area of paint related books like Citadel ones which are very cool to read. And haven’t seen at most comic shops. Also, Dibble’s Charges $ 3.70 for Citadel. I haven’t really ran into old paints here for citadel. — - - But other places I went to for emergency supply had old paint, ugh. Something to note: Pricing comic book stores charge $ 3.95, $ 4.00, and one place wanted $ 5.00 per tiny bottles Citadel. Bottom line: When I need Paint, Putty. or any hobby tool. I always go to Dibble’s Hobbies First.

This is one of those places that seem like a time machine. Inside, I was transported back to my childhood memories of hobby shops. There are the basics, the stuff you can find in a chain hobby shop, but there are also the treasures. The little accessories or odd brand model that you never knew existed before. Recommended.

Apparently this hobby store has been around for quite awhile now. I couldn’t belive I saw a box for the Atomic Cannon and for Axis & Allies! How cool! They carry model airplanes, trains, games, and everything a geek like me loves to see in one little place. It’s a couple of doors down from the Koffee Kup so a quick stop-by is on the agenda on some occasions.

This place is a step back into a much simpler time! It is the type of store that you actually get knowledge help, not just some kid who can read the box. If you are looking for models or rc products this is the place! You will feel like a kid in a candy store!
