I found this little gem by accident. Glad I did. Live music every night and the martinis are delicious. Try the pomegranate martini ! I loved it. Not much sitting room but if you do get a seat the couches are super comfy and clean. Nice romantic spot or great for groups and girls night. Clean rest rooms as well!

Enjoyed some cocktails here last night. There was a cover band that was pretty good. The music they play at the lounge though was pretty sorry for a Friday night… Sappy… Like Adele and Coldplay. Wouldn’t mind that during the day or a weekday. Great place to come and enjoy cocktails and relax. Def not a turn up place oh and their cucumber cocktails are not the same. They taste different and not as good as they used to be.

This swanky little store front surprised me in appearance from the outside versus the inside. We stopped in before dinner next door to have a drink. When we walked in they were just opening and the bartender told us it would be a few minutes until they were ready to serve but, she was gracious in offering us to take a seat. The atmosphere is very romantic and intimate in this small storefront. They have a stage that is very well appointed for being so small, lounge style comfy booths and about 10 bar stools. They have a great craft cocktail menu and I opted for the cucumber martini with a spicy rim. The prices are what I would expect in a swanky Austin bar so, it didn’t put me off to this place. The cocktail was so delicious that I could have drank it down in one gulp because it was so well blended. I always appreciate a balanced and well created cocktail especially in such a notably touristy area. This place is a diamond in the rough of the area and should definitely not be missed.

We have been here a few times and it has been great every time. The bartenders are nice and the place is pretty cool! Our drinks have always been good and they are a bit pricey but it is downtown so I get it. We have only been here at odd times so it has been very slow both times but I can appreciate that!

The Westin Hotel staff recommended Zinc so we gave it a shot. Here is what we experienced. Since it was raining we had to sit inside and the choice was either to sit at the bar or at a micro table for 2. Seriously, the table seemed the circumference of steering wheel. It was like playing Jenga fitting our plates and glasses on the table. Now on to the food. We ordered the truffles fries and the calamari for appetizers, left it at that and never ordered main courses, here’s why: The truffles fries were bland. Very little seasoning and hardly a taste of truffle what so ever. I’ve had better fries at fast food spots. The calamari had a tasty sauce and loved the grilled peppers but eating raw batter really spoils a meal. So much to say other than … Ehh.

Great party spot/post wedding party spot. The bartenders are awesome! Some drinks could be a little pricy but fair for river walk area bars. My friend reserved the bar/room in the back for a reasonable tab! We had the privilege to play our own music and get the party jammin!

Davenport’s is a part of the First Friday pub run, so they should expect pub runners, right? My friends and I stood at the back bar for over 10 minutes with our cash out and ready to pay and didn’t receive even a nod our way. If cash is out and ready to be paid for a beverage, I expect a nod my way at least. That back bar is not even that big and to have 2 bartenders working, I can’t believe I wasn’t even acknowledged. Take yourselves off of the pub run list or work on your level of customer service.

Meh. Setting: I can see why some people like it, and I should have known from the fact that they have a dance floor, but it’s a weird combination of too loud and too bright. Drinks: whiskey selection is actually quite good, even though they aren’t using it to make cocktails. Their vaunted cocktails compare favorably to the U.S. average, I guess, but they’re mostly vodka, and mostly not too interesting. And apparently haven’t been updated in years. If you’ve been drinking at great modern cocktail bars on the coasts, prepare to be disappointed, and stick with neat liquor. Food: none, even though it showed up as a restaurant in Unilocal

Great spot in SA. The French 75 was delicious and so we’re all the other drinks my colleagues had(Moscow mule and cucumber martini). The staff were friendly and attentive. The owner was there and told us about grWish we would’ve discovered this place sooner, definitely going there again when I visit San Antonio!

We go here because it’s a stop on the Pub Run. There are two different parts; one is a classy cocktail room with guitars donning the walls and a stage where I assume a live band plays sometimes(though I’ve never seen it) and the other is a back room that is much like a club where a DJ plays and people dance. I think the drinks a bit pricey, but you pay for the venue. Apparently they have good mixed drinks; but they are lacking on the beer choices. The couches are comfy, the cocktail room isn’t overtly loud so it’s way easy to have conversations in there — even on a busy night. The staff are friendly and look well-dressed. Place is clean, but last time I went the women bathrooms were out of toilet paper at only 8PM.

Davenport is one of those places that make San Antonio unique. I genuinely can’t recall many places that have a cocktail lounge with killer drinks and right past their bathrooms is a fun dance floor right behind a simple door. This place is like a speakeasy but instead of alcohol it’s for dancing! You’ll most likely be taking a double glance when you come here for the first time. This place is perfect when you have a group of people who are torn between a low-key place to grab a drink but want to dance the night away. My friends can be indecisive at times so I am quite aware of this dilemma. You can always call the establishment and see if they have the dance floor open for the respective night. I have been here at times when the dance room isn’t open which is a bummer. I will say though that their Pomegranate Martini is simply amazing and I can not find another place that holds a candle even close to theirs.

Amazing place! Very inviting and cozy. I was impressed by every little detail taken in the décor… classy. I tried the Cucumber Martini and it was superb! I’ve definitely found a new favorite lounge without all the riff-raff. I will be visiting again very soon!

Awesome service at the bar. The music was great and entertaining. One of the best bars I’ve been to in San Antonio.

I just left here and created this account just to leave this review. Our bartender barely paid attention to us. He was too busy talking to some other patrons(the only others there) about his trip to Miami. My buddy and I ordered 3 drinks total. Straight whiskeys. No effort on his part other than to pour it into a glass. We had to point out where to find the bottles behind the bar. Our total tab: $ 66 dollars. For three whiskeys. I had Bookers and my buddy had Whistle Pig. Good stuff, but hardly exotic or ultra premium. Not like we were ordering Pappy or something. $ 22 for a single whiskey? And mediocre service at best? Sorry. Avoid at all cost. Davenport you failed tonight.

Visiting to have a quick drink with a friend before moving on to get food. I wasn’t a big fan. We sat at the bar and I ordered the cucumber martini. Which was great! My friend ordered the apple pie martini which was very flavorful. Had no problems with the drinks but sitting at the bar and the place wasn’t that busy. So instead of us getting to catch up over drinks we were more there to entertain the bartender. He was a nice guy don’t get me wrong, but mainly wanted to sit and share time with us. Don’t think me rude, but I enjoy chatting up bartenders, that’s why I enjoy sitting at the bar. But at a certain point the unspoken rule is that they get busy doing something and are able to leave you to your visit OR they bounce in and out of visits with you. Not with this guy. He found a comfy spot to lean and became part of our group. He had absolutely nothing else that needed his attention. Never before have I disliked being in a bar during a down time. Because I work in a kitchen every part of me was screaming IFYOUHAVETIMETOLEANYOUHAVETIMETOCLEAN! The sarcastic side of me was thinking to ask if he wanted to just buy the next round and join us on the other side of the bar. But fear that he would accept washed over me and I kept my mouth shut. The drinks though really good was very pricey and the service was friendly and helpful but so much like that visiting relative that doesn’t realize it’s time to go now. For me this place is hit or miss. I might give it another try and see if that visit will be different.

Great drinks, beautiful and sexy looking space, hilarious and friendly bartenders. It was really quiet when we came in on a Friday night, but it was also really early and we had just had dinner at Zinc Bistro next door. Bartenders were so funny and easy to talk to and gave great recommendations for drinks. Had the cucumber martini and thought I had woke up in a dream. Boyfriend had the pomegranate martini, which he didn’t feel was very strong, but it tasted delicious. I almost gave it fewer stars because there was live music and I’m usually not a fan without my previous consent, but the two man group played acoustic guitar covers of John Mayer, Incubus, and some other rock songs that made me feel like I was in high school again. I wish we lived in San Antonio so we could come here every weekend.

What a happy discovery. Saw this place one the way to a Unilocal event and looked cool from the outside. So several of is decided to stop in here for post event festivities. The cucumber martini is wow beyond wow. The other drinks I tried were also excellent. Dan is an awesome bartender. He makes fantastic drinks and takes excellent care of the customer. A most excellent laid back and relaxing atmosphere. This place is so worth a visit. A great place for a date or a group of friend. You will not be disappointed. This is a 5 star gem!

I can’t believe this place. At an Elite Event, Stephen C mentions this place next to Zinc that somehow, no one has ever noticed, that has martinis. We all head over expecting a dive bar, and are treated to a huge surprise! Dan, the bartender we found working, actually made me enjoy 2 vodka based drinks. Two! We all know my opinion on vodka– an icky throw away spirit that can easily be replaced with gin. Because gin is delicious. His spicy cucumber martini shocked me. It’s definitely a contender for best cucumber martini in town. He made me a couple other drinks that were delicious as well, but that cucumber martini blew me away. They also have a Gatsby-ish back room that would be great for an event. I’m just sayin, guys.

This bar has redeemed itself!!! I’ve been here in the past and it wasn’t anything special, but Dan has brought a special charm to the bar. We ventured in on a whim and I must say this place is pure home town mixology. Dan made us some great drinks, the cucumber martini was to die for. I’m usually not fan but this one was pure magic. Great vibe and to top it off they were playing country music while I sipped my martini!!!
