I thought this was a gay bar. It’s pretty much not. Friendly atmosphere. The cops taking your drink away 10 mins after you bought it kinda sucked.

I love this club, it’s a hit or miss as far as how many people come but I always have fun with my friends!

I had so much fun here this weekend! I was a little on the intoxicated side, so checking in didn’t occur to me — but I will definitely be back here! While there was a $ 5 cover, it was late on a Saturday night, and it was Realllly worth it considering most of my drinks were $ 1.50 and very strong. There were three floors to hang out on, an outdoor area for smoking as well as a cash bar out there and a little taco counter. The dancer in his skimpy outfit in one of the rooms was also so great & he inspires me to do more cardio. Someone said this was«too much of a gay club» for them, but I didn’t see a shortage of Dudes picking up girls & honestly maybe you don’t need dance clubs in your life if you’re worried about the ‘gayness’. This place seems open & accepting of everyone, I would just worry about having fun — which I did! This is by far the best dance club I’ve been to in San Antonio with plenty of space & bars. I never felt like I was being overcrowded except when I was purposely getting lost on the floor. I look forward to taking friends here.

I’m in town for a company meeting and decided to go have a bit of fun. Apparently, it won’t be here. There is only one bartender on duty and he decided to ignore my friend and I. We stood waiting and it was obvious we were ready to order but for some reason the bartender decided to serve his regulars who approached the bar after us instead and continued to ignore us even after. Very unprofessional way of treating new visiting customers. The only reason my rating is 2 stars and not 1 is because the host and the DJ were wonderful! Shame we couldn’t enjoy a drink and stay longer…

My first gay club/bar! Really spacious with lots of rooms. There’s even a pool table. Haven’t been to a lot of San Antonio gay nightlife but this seemed the like least ratchet. There is an expensive cover though which sucks. I think that’s a San Antonio thing though. I’ve never had a cover in Houston. There’s a parking lot next door with expensive parking too.

I’ve been here twice and I’m not too sure of what to think about the Bonham. The first time I went was on a Saturday and for me it was bad only because of the creepy dudes trying to grind on every chick in sight! The music was fantastic though and the place was packed! The latest time here was this Friday and it wasn’t busy at all and we had a blast dancing our a**es off! The drinks were… eh but the music was good. One of the bartenders didn’t make a liquid cocaine correctly so idk if he just didn’t hear what my friend asked or what, and I ordered a blue Hawaiian and a bottle of water and it all came out to $ 8.50(the blue Hawaiian was in a small plastic cup) so the prices really aren’t worth it to me! But if you want to have space to get your groove on and dance the night away then Friday night is the night to go because it wasn’t too packed and there wasn’t a pack of creepy dudes trying to dance on us!(:

I am new to San Antonio, and let my friend pick out our first bar. It is a very large space with various themes in multiple rooms. An area for playing pool, another area predominantly LGBT friendly, a large downstairs dance area, a very large open stage upstairs. As well as an outside bar area for smoking with a taco stand. The employees were nice, and very friendly. Its obviously management that is stupid here. Next time you are there, watch the pour counts. Anyone that has spent any time behind a bar or even watched bar rescue will see they dramatically under pour. All of my drinks were ended in two counts, which meant I got to drink tonic all night. All bartenders did this, so its systematic and taught. This is stealing from the customer, plain and simple. I would not be surprised if they refilled bottles as the top shelf liquor did not taste correct as well. Also, the dance floor has a dirty basement smell, and other areas smelled strongly of puke. I was very disappointed, and will not return unless Im with a group and forced.

It’s actually more like a gay club, but this is good experience since they have good music, rock DJ, and more people enjoying it. The entrance is only 5 $ for each, but you have to pay for the parking. I paid 15 $ which is suck, but have to since their location is at downtown SA. Love the atmosphere. If you want more fun, go to first floor. Second and third seem bored and not many people enjoying it

Its a shit place. A racist place. Even the police officer shows racism. I had a stab. I went to police. He was spraying pepper spray. Please try to avoid this place. None helps.

Now this place, I love. Looking for a nice place to dance? Come here. Bonham is a VERY friendly and OPENLGBT bar/club scene, so if you’re a horrible human being and can’t deal with that, please do us all a favor and just go to Kremlin. Thanks. This place has 3 floors, lovely DJs, pool table, strippers(I think only one and only males. not really sure). It’s friendly for Under 21s too, I think it’s $ 15-$ 20 cover charge for 18 – 20’s. You will get patted down(men), and women they will request to look in your bags. If you can’t deal with that, then go elsewhere. One thing I will say is, BRINGMONEYIFYOUNEEDTO. The food upstairs ONLYTAKESCASH, and the ATM machine charges you $ 5.00. Yep, that’s the price of A BEER, to remove any amount of money. The DJs were pretty on par with what I heard; but I didn’t dance a whole lot. We came here to chill outside and eat upstairs on the 3rd floor after a few drinks and a dance. I never once felt«threatened» by any gender to be humped on by anyone, unlike at Kremlin where I need to dance against a wall to avoid being harassed. Everyone I met here was pretty friendly too. So, cheers!

It used to be great been coming here for years but lately these past 2 years have been really boring and a few of the bartenders are so rude! The drinks are great and cheap prices, great music in some rooms. Now it seems more like a straight club than gay club.

When I was a teenager, in high school, I would come here and dance my butt off so hard that I would leave completely drenched from sweat. I was always let in with no cover(probably because the door guy/lady knew i was there just to dance and not to drink). However, times have changed and now, as a minor(as in under 21 yrs old), you will have to pay a cover charge that ranges from $ 5-$ 25 depending on the night. This is only because as a minor you will not be contributing to the 10 – 15 bartenders staffed here at night that rely on tips for their living wage. Here’s the breakdown on The Bonham — this is a LGBT bar that is friendly to allies and straight folks who like to dance, get down, drink, and mingle. There are male dancers who dance on Friday & Saturday nights beginning at 9pm on the stages all around this cool and very old building. There will be no cover charge if you are over 21 and there will be a brisk ‘pat down’ before you walk in. This is only because, in the past, there have been some incidents of people fighting and/or sneaking in liquor or flasks. Just be cool with the staff and let them do their thing. You do your thing and be cool about it all. Everyone has to go through it. Here are a few tips I recommend you do and or think about before you come on out: 1. BRINGCASH — its so loud due to the music and the bass so it will be hard to try to dictate what drinks goes on what tab. Drinks are cheap so the more $ 5-$ 10 bills you can bring the better. 2. LEAVEYOURPHONE in a secure pocket and don’t bring in a purse that you can’t zip up or wear across your chest(messenger style) — there can be guys who come up to you and/or ladies that will try to reach for things and money and phones in your purse. 3. GETTHEREEARLY — never a line and never a cover charge if you do especially when its Saturday nights. These are their busiest nights. 4. DRINKPLENTYOFWATER — you will sweat and you will get down with all of the types of music the DJ’s play in each dance room.

This place is great for cheap drinks and a good time. There are several rooms and each has their own vibe. The room with the pool table, the room with the pole, the room with the massive dance floor and cubes to dance on and then there is upstairs which looks like a ballroom and outside with the tables and another bar. I gave The Bonham a four star review for two main reasons, mainly that it takes a long time to get a stall in the bathroom and secondly it gets so crowded you can’t walk around. Let me tell you I have seen some incredibly raunchy dance moves that had me questioning what classifies as sex. So that was gross because I am pretty sure I saw a couple doing the humpty hump if you catch my drift but I don’t want to blame the establishment for that, like I said it’s crazy busy. The outside is less than stellar, definitely not like the inside of the club. If you haven’t already you should check out the history of the building it’s pretty interesting. So travel back in time in a bad ass old building with crazy EDM music pumping all night. Be weary of cover if you’re a minor. There is cover for everyone but minors pay up to $ 20 for entrance. It’s worth it for a great night on the town if you can handle the door charge.

My party days are behind me. It’s been a decade since I’ve done this with any regularity, but we were out of town for a fun weekend, so why not? When we came in — there was not a line — but everyone had to show ID and had to get frisked. Interesting. On the way out — there was a HUGE line of folks waiting to get in. Wow. I didn’t realize it was that kind of place. Minors pay a $ 25 cover to get in. KIDS — save your money. Dang. Drinks were cheap. Lots of rooms with their own music and bars. A go go dancer with someone’s nose buried in his crack. Men, women, gays, lesbians, drag queens, straight couples, gay couples… All sorts of folks were having a good time. Good for them. It was loud, and packed, lots of eye candy.

I went here on my birthday because my friends wanted to dance. We left Pat O’s Piano bar to go here and I seriously regretted it. When we went the place was still getting pretty crowded. We got drinks and walked around a little bit. The drinks are cheap but really you can;t taste much of the alcohol in it. I like the idea of having so many areas to go and dance but the music is not good. Every time a good song came on you didn’t hear much of it before the next one was playing. It was disappointing considering my friends always talked about how fun it was. I will probably give it another shot so hopefully it’s better!

Visited Saturday 12÷28÷13. A 15 year New Yorker, I grew up in San Antonio and remember the Bonham as a laid back, welcoming club with great music for dancing, not for posing and looking good. The welcoming, laid back part is still true but I was very disappointed with the music. All three rooms felt like mostly rap/hip-hop. Why have 3 rooms if you’re not going to vary the music. When the DJ would mix in good music, he would play maybe 20 seconds of it, then switch to 20 seconds of another song. Yes, your mixing skills are impressive, and very welcome when switching songs. But how about you play the whole song? I don’t think it’s just that I’m old(44). When I was in the front room, where the dance floor is smallest but the music is best, when 80s music came on, everyone got on the floor, including girls who had to be in their 20s. Great venue, cover and drink prices. Too bad about the music.

If you can’t have fun here, then you are some sort of freaking alien/commie hybrid! Seriously, what is your problem?! The Bohnam has everything anyone could want: multiple level dance floors, bars EVERYWHERE, food and smoking on the patio, go-go dudes(which I think they should have go-go chicks too, I mean even gay guys like girls skimpy clothes) Pick a bartender and stick with them, they get more and more generous with the pours the more you come back. Give them a dollar extra a drink you cheap monkey and they’ll take care of you!
