Doesn’t look so nice inside but the wings are so good and the pitchers are cheap. 4 stars for the music and the bartenders seem to just pay attention to the regulars. Play the claw machine it’s a good claw!!!

This is our neighborhood bar. We had come several times for karaōke on Friday nights, and we even have come with our dog, sat outside on the patio for a beer and wine. One day we decide to try the food and were completely blown away. Their tortilla chips are home made and seasoned well. I’ve had the chicken sandwich with a side of green beans, and it was amazing! Everything is fresh and cooked perfectly! Husband had the fish and chips and loved it. This is definitely a step above bar food. We got there around 630p, and the place was packed with people eating, word is getting out about their great food.

I have not been here in almost 2 years. Decided to take a dive crawl and took 2 friends tonight. Very happy to see the bartender with the curly blonde hair. She has always been great.

Great food, prices and drinks! It’s location is good for us and the staff is friendly. You can reserve for small get togethers, order for take a ways, and just be happy. The kinda place to just relax and enjoy, parking is easy, and the atmosphere is what you make of it. Wings and quesadillas are yummy, and I love the fries with some butt burner sauce. The sampler is great, with a shinier of course… once they start carrying PBR, no one will touch them! Variety of wings, my favorite are Cajun and habenero. Tuesday’s are my favorite, just visit for yourself. Heather is great too(there are two of them).

If you’re going for the bar then I think it’s a pretty decent place. Restaurant: The food was pretty good, this is why I give it 3 stars but the atmosphere it’s more of a bar then a restaurant, I had never heard of it but I saw it on groupon and thought it looked worth a try. I attempted to go once with my son(8 years old) but when I got there I realized it was way too much of a bar to take him & it smelled like smoke so we left. The second time I went back with my boy friend it was about 2−3pm during the week it is really dark in there and there was one bartender, no servers so our service was REALLY slow. I do not blame the bartender she was doing the best she could, but I think if you’re going to advertise it as a restaurant you should at least have one server to tend to the tables and one bartender to take care of the bar. Needless to say I most likely won’t be going back, if anything maybe just for take out.

Solid place for good bar food. It’s a tad depressing inside. Like, it kinda makes you want to start drinking to forget.(Which is okay because they have some pretty good happy hour prices on domestics and wells.) It was dark inside, and the set up is a bit strange. The music is blaring. There’s definitely an emphasis on the bar rather than the grill. However, we were happy with our food order. My husband’s wings came out nicely sauced, and the cheese fries we ordered were the bomb. There’s a place in Emporia, KS(what up Bruff’s!) that serves THE best cheese fries with homemade ranch, but I’m gonna have to say that CB’s cheese fries may have one upped Bruff’s.(I can’t believe I just said that.) I’m not sure we’ll intentionally head out to CB’s again… mostly because it’s in a strange area that is difficult to get to, especially from our neck of the woods… but I’m not saying I won’t go back if I find myself nearby and hungry.

This is my kinda place! You have cheap and greasy apps, cheap drinks, a dark room with a stage and a few pool tables. They keep it simple and real, it’s easy to get to and there’s a straight attitude all around.

It had been a couple of years since we last went to Charlie browns. I remember the butt burner wings being pretty good. So we found a Groupon, and decided to head there again. I decided to have a drink before our order was ready for takeout, lo and behold they had one of my favorite beers on tap, Karbach rodeo clown IPA! And for a great price too. The server was friendly, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very inviting with plenty of spirits and beer available. When we got home we we’re delighted to see how amazing the wings looked, big and fragrant! Kind of cliché, but they were literally finger licking good! We will be headed to there soon, as they have great specials every day of the week for food and drinks =^)

Holy Jesus… the BEST fried mushrooms… super great. And the Buffalo sandwich… A very close second. I came in on a Friday as a Groupon customer and the Heather and I believe Ashley were super nice and friendly. There was about another people out the bar. They were both attentive and funny. The food was great atmosphere great I did see a little advertisement for happy hour on the bar but I didn’t read it. Overall I would definitely recommend and will completely and totally be back again :-) thanks ladies

I have never met the cooks but definitely they know how to cook steaks. I’ve had the Ribeye and the New York strip and they are delicious and cooked the way I ordered it! I sat at the bar and was waited on by Heather both times and she definitely is a professional! Excellent service and great value! I am not a drinker but I definitely will go here to get a great meal! I’ll be back!

The best bar food in San Antonio, hands down. Place looks like a dive, but everything on the menu is amazing. All the food is fresh and made to order. The buffalo wings are huge and delicious. Salisbury steak is the best I’ve had in my life, as are the perfectly grilled buttered string beans and mashed potatoes with gravy. Chicken fried steak is thick and filling, like it was in the old days, before more batter and thin meat became the norm. There is a full liquor bar. Cold long necks and even a decent selection of draft beer on tap and craft brew in bottles. Prices are great, especially for the quality of food($ 7 – 11 a plate). Portions are generous. Happy Hour is out of this world.

This place is kinda tucked back in there in a business strip. I almost passed it! We found CB’s on groupon, and I have to mention this since I saw some bad reviews ragging on the older gentleman that runs the joint– I have a feeling that he’s one of those guys who’s super nice and helpful if you’re at least nice to him on a mediocre level. We were the pain in the ass Groupon people calling on the phone to ask questions about the 3 different specials he had going on. And let me tell you, he was the nicest and most patient«grumpy-old-man» I’ve ever met. We got so much food for so little. And be warned, the food DOESTAKE A WHILE. It’s cooking. It tastes better that way. We ordered takeout and gave them 20 minutes before arriving, but it probably took 40 minutes to cook so we had to wait a while. Which, the same guy who helped us on the phone continued to make sure we were updated on the status of our order throughout waiting, and asked if we wanted any drinks. Very attentive. The place itself is your typical divey-bar. I got a feeling that a lot of the folks in there were regulars since one of them chatted with us until we got our order and gave us the low down on karaōke nights and specials. I’d love to check this place out in terms of drinking. Back to the food. We got SO many wings. We got hot buffalo, Honey BBQ and Garlic Pepper wings, along with onion rings, cheese fries, and southwest egg rolls(we were eating for days off of this). We loved absolutely all of this, except for the cheese fries. Which I imagine would be better if we were eating in. Bottom line. This is the type of place where if you come in with an open mind(and an empty stomach) you will be pleasantly surprised. The staff is more than willing to serve you, however you do need to speak up if you want something. It’s a bar after all. Definitely give this place a shot!

We happened to find this place near by where we were delivering… Knew we couldn’t get a truck and trailer in… So dropped the trailer an bobtailed over. Parking for bobtail… At least as late as we were there 8:30pm Staff was awesome very friendly… We set outside on the patio an decided to get our food to go due to delivering early the next morning… I got the fish and chip(cod) their tarter sauce is to die for(homemade) hubby got the Salisbury steak. Real beef patty smothered with homemade rich brown grave an sautéed onions mushrooms. Real mashed potatoes Also got an appetizer of cheese curd with their homemade blue cheese dressing all totally awesome Looked to be a locals favorite But ya can bet if we are in the area again we will be back !!!

Had a friend, who btw, is a foodie(hate that term, can’t believed I used it) and a half, insist on several occasions, we try CB’s. After finally giving in, we were off to try the«best bar food in SA». Admittedly, when I first walked in, the word«dive» didn’t do this place justice. I was skeptical to say the least. I kept it safe and tried a Mushroom n Swiss burger, medium rare, w/an fried egg(hard) and tater tots. My friend ordered the wings, which were touted(by him at least) as «the best wings in town». My burger finally showed up and wow!!! Meat cooked to perfection(pink/red in the middle), egg not overcooked and bun not soft(soft gets soggy quicker), but not old/stake either. Tots were seasoned nicely. Now those wings my friend had, I was lucky enough to sample 2(Cajun, hot honey bbq) and that Cajun rub was beautiful!!! Evenly seasoned and not too salty w/the seasoning. GREAT!!! The lesson here today kids is never judge a bar by its patrons or décor, as you might miss out on some outstanding grub.

So a lot of fellow Unilocalers stated that the food here was very good. So being the foodie that I am. I had to check it out for myself. And let’s just say I wasn’t disappointed. I ended up getting the sampler because I couldn’t decide. And it included wings mozzarella sticks and quesadillas. I also had the Goose Island IPA and it was a very good brew. Overall for a bar the food was very much above average. The staff here were polite and helpful and tried to check on me when they could. If I live in the area this bar would without a doubt be my go to place. They have good food, drink specials and good vibes. It’s not a fancy place but that’s not what I want in a bar. Definitely will come back anytime I’m in the SA area.

It’s a nice hole in the wall. The place is old and you can feel it. Service is usually good and prices are as well. They have some of the best bar food. Yes the fried stuff but they seem to do it well. Try the avacado rolls or the fried mishrooms. They do tend to have karaōke often. Add a decent patio and some pool tables which makes this is a good neighborhood joint.

Some reviews I don’t write because I forgot, some just lazy, this one I probably shouldn’t write cause I don’t want it to ever change. Quite frankly I don’t want the secret to get out. This place reminds me a lot of new Orleans meaning dark bar very much a dive and surprisingly delicious food if your in the know. Honestly, if this placed looked nicer on the inside I think every foodie in town would know about it, That said I love it the way it is and please don’t change. Great people, helpful staff, and although not the largest craft selection they have a couple of surprises here and there on tap, and a few surprises in the bottle selection, otherwise mostly your typical beer drinkers selection. Ill have the Dechuttes black butte porter and prime rib sandwhich any time, thanks.

I came to this unsuspecting bar that’s tucked into a little strip center that you can almost miss, with some friends who said they liked it. Now, I am a sober person but I have no problem going to drinking establishments as long as everyone is playing it cool. I ended up talking to the bar tender, mark, for quite some time. He is an absolutely hilarious dude and makes an awesome Roy roger’s. Generally bar tenders give me flack for not ordering some high dollar too shelf shit, but mark played it cool and respected my right to just suck down cheap sodas all night with my buds. Thanks for keeping it cool and being super nice.
