Good pizza and wings but be sure to call in your order ahead of time. There is very limited seating; mainly a takeout restaurant. Seems to get very busy on Fridays!

Insanely amazing pizza, knots, and sandwiches. Serious New York Style pizza and they took care of us out of towners while we were waiting. No doubt you have to get this. We’ve been to a lot … And I mean a lot … Of pizza places. This is one of the most authentic NY pizza outside of NY. Want to go back to San Antonio just for this! Thanks for a great experience Capos!!!

Went with my sister cause I saw the Unilocal reviews were good, and wow was it good! The owner greeted us and talked to us while he made our pizza and garlic knots and was very nice. It’s a small place that serves a range of items, but also serves single slice pizza which you can’t find in SA! The pizza and garlic knots were delicious, and I can’t wait to try more things from this place. Quality small business with a great owner.

Best pizza in San Antonio, hands down. Even when compared with some of the best out of NYC(e.g. Joe’s, Bleecker), this can come close and really satisfy that craving. Do yourself a favor and get a fresh slice out of the oven right now!

Very happy that I finally found the best local pizza joint in my area. Meat Calzone was excellent! Full of Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Mozzarella and my favorite, Ricotta cheese. It can be hard to find a place that uses Ricotta cheese, but it makes for the perfect pizza and calzone ingredient! Cheesy Garlic Bread was fresh, warm, gently toasted and covered with melted mozzarella. Authentic Italian style place. The owner was very friendly, prices were good, regular specials, food was amazing so I will be back!

Read the reviews on Capos And decided to give them a try. We orded a medium vegetable and pepperoni pizza off the menu. It was one of the best I have had that didn’t come out of a traditional brick oven! We will go to Capos again as long as they keep up their quality.

I want to start off by saying that the service was great I was told my food would come out at 7:15 and the food came out at 7:15. The guys working there seemed to have good attitudes, which is what I like to see. I ordered 3 things; Garlic knots, Moe Green pizza and mild wings. Garlic knots. Not great, basically crust-type bread with a hint of garlic. IMO garlic knots should be softer, have a stronger garlic taste, and a little more salt added. Moe Green pizza: It has the pesto flavor sauce with good complimenting veggies and chicken on a thin crust. This was good, but I wouldn’t say is in my Top 10 Best I’ve had. Mild wings: Decent and the spiciness was perfect for a mild sauce. Decently priced too. Overall: Service is great, food was OK but not 4 or 5 star worthy. Sorry Unilocalers, but if you’ve had better pizza, your standards are higher. If you live close, try it out. I drove 30 minutes from where I was staying since I’m in town for business. Would I do it again? Nope.

Ciao! I went to Capos Pizza and left there in Settimo Cielo! If you are from the East Coast, you will definitely appreciate the taste that comes out of this great little place. Rick, the owner, is a Paisan from NY and is all over this and will provide top notch Customer Service. My favorite is the The Capo’s Sub and the Corleone pizza. Honestly, they have the best Abetz around! You absolutely cannot go wrong here.

Have ordered take out from Capos on several occasions and I have to be disappointed… Let me take that back… I wish there more than 4 to an order of the Pizza rolls. Crust is very light and almost has a crescent roll flavor to it, but not flaky. The pizza is outstanding, pepperoni is small diameter but it thick cut and full of flavor. Not many pizza places have green olives anymore and that’s why I love this place!

Love it! We went in on a rainy day to pick up Capos’ slice and a soda lunch deal. We also had the garlic knots which are truly one of the yummiest things I have ever eaten. Since we sat in and one of the bar seating areas on either side of the small shop, we talked to the employee at the register and the owner a bit. The owner was in the back manning the oven himself. I could tell he has a real pride in his work, and it’s evident by the taste! The slices were huge, so we put them in the fridge for leftovers. Makes delicious cold pizza! We will definitely be back.

With a full belly and a smile of contentment on my face, I recommend that you stuff one of Capo’s pies in your face! And while you’re at it, do yourself a favor and grab some of their righteous garlic knots, too! Yay, I’m a fan of Capo’s. With a limited menu it appears they have honed in on making excellent pizza. From a sauce that is not overpowering to fresh and flavorful toppings, I was well pleased with the medium Supremo I walked out the door with. Topped with fresh red and green bell peppers, thick mushrooms, onions, sausage, pepperoni, cheese, and a crust that crunched at the ends and had the oven char marks on the bottom, the Supremo was indeed a supreme pizza. The knots — the oh so beautiful garlic knots. Loaded with garlic and parmesan, these little beauties had a perfect combination of baked perfection on the outside and a slight doughiness on the inside. Definitely a winner! Capo’s is a small place and is more of a take-out joint than a dine in joint. With just a few barstools lining a wall counter, it’s best if you get your order to go. The staff, particularly the middle-aged man in the kitchen poking his head out, were very helpful to this Capo’s newcomer. Along with the pizza, and garlic knots, Capo’s offers a few other items like sandwiches, wings, salads, and mini cannolis. If those items are on par with the pizza and knots, you’re in for a treat! If you’re in the neighborhood or heck, even if you’re not, Capo’s is well worth the trip.

One word– Delicious. Small mom & pop pizza joint. Primarily a take out restaurant. Two sitting areas(4 seats) each side but they prefer to stick to the take out business. Tried the meatball sub and the supreme/supremo pizza. Both were very good. The sub’s bread was amazingly good. There is a softness yet chewiness that is perfection– stuff of dreams and cravings. The meatballs were hearty and the marinara sauce was nicely flavored. The pizza topping were fresh and very well proportioned for the pizza. The only thing is that I wished that it was an eat in restaurant because I love eating my pizza as soon as it is ready but that is just my deal. Try it — you, too, will love it just like everyone else does. Well worth the drive and wait because everything worth eating is worth waiting for.

Just as I judge Mexican food based on the salsa, I judge pizza based on the crust. We carried out a pie from here utilizing a Unilocal coupon. We ordered garlic knots and a supreme. It smelled so good we had to tear into the knots driving home. The pizza was very good! Obviously same dough recipe as the pizza crust. Toppings galore. Friendly staff. Will go back!

I love the subs here so very much. I love the subs so much that I may never get to try the pizzas because I crave the subs so much!!! The bread is fresh made and out of this world delicious. The bread has a big WOW factor going on. The Italian Sub is wonderful. So full of delicious meat and cheese and of course with the delicious bread.(ITALIAN Ham, Genoa salami, mortadella, provolone, romaine, Roma tomatoes, red onions, hot banana peppers and Italian vinaigrette). The bread is warm and the meat and cheese cold. A great contrast. The Meatball Sub is also wonderful. Well seasoned meatballs, melted mozzarella and sauce, a nice amount of wonderful flavor. For this sub the bread is toasted and that really I works well with this combination. The Capo is a most wonderful creation consisting of, Italian sausage, capocolla, sweet peppers, onions, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes and vinaigrette. Amazing!!! The Muffuletta, Italian Ham, Genoa Salami, mortadella, provolone and Sicilian Olive Mix. I admit I was hesitant to try this one because it is not served on the traditional bread. However this sub is also fantastic. I love the olive mix. All the flavors come together so nice. At lunch time when when you get a sub, chips and a drink are included at no extra charge. Rick, the owner, provides absolutely fantastic customer service. I would of never found this place if not for Unilocal ;)

So, one day I’m browsing through Unilocaler’s pics of food, and a pic caught my attention. Lucky for me this place happens to be fairly close. So I decided to give Capo’s a try and I’m so glad I did. I’m hooked on their Italian sub. Since my first try of the Italian sub, that is all I order. One sub is good for lunch and dinner. The bread is amazing. Capo is small, only 8 bar stools — limited seating. Most of their customers order food to go. No problem. But if you’re by yourself, you can eat there. This is a no-frills place with good, authentic food. Rick, the owner, is awesome! So stop by and try a pizza or a sub.

Capo’s pizza reminds me of the great pizza of the East Coast. I got takeout here the other night, and the food was just great. I ordered an extra-large pizza with mushrooms and the veggie calzone. The pizza exceeded my expectations, with quality cheese well distributed having little pockets of greasy goodness on its melted surface, zesty sauce, and awesomely crispy crust with just enough chewiness. The calzone was also excellent; I thought the arugula was an interesting ingredient there. Very tasty. Overall, the meal made me a bit nostalgic, bringing me back to the days of eating authentic NY-style pizza as a kid. Highly recommend Capo’s if you’ve been transplanted to San Antonio from the East Coast. This is my holy grail of pizza here, along with Little Italy. I’ll definitely be back.

Damn, this place is legit! Drove by but didn’t think much of the spot until I saw several Unilocal friends check in and rave about the pizza. Pulled up the menu and headed over. They mostly do takeout and delivery, but there are a few bar seats for dining in– probably good for solo diners eating by the slice. The Clemenza pizza is great– a medium has smaller slices than your usual chains, but the dough is so soft and fresh, and the toppings and sauce are full of flavor. I didn’t really care for how the toppings were unevenly applied, but I did come close to closing time. The wings are okay. Would come back for the Capo Sandwich or the Moe Green pizza. Heads up that this spot closes pretty early for a pizza joint: 9PM on Fridays and they were busy! TIP: Buy a Unilocal Deal while they last, $ 10 for $ 20 credit.

I love when small business pizza joints open up and I’ll definitely be coming back here. This location is where the old Papa Johns used to be. Since it was my first time trying it out, I opted for a simple Large Pepperoni and Italian Sausage Pizza and a side of Garlic Knots. Omg those Garlic Knots are sooooooooooooft, cheeeeeeewy, and garlicky! I have a weakness for bread in case you couldn’t tell… lol. The pizza was great! It has nice chunks of Italian sausage and the pepperoni has that nice kick of spice to it. The crust too was soft with a slight crunch that pretty much melted in your mouth. Customer service was outstanding. The guys thanked me personally by name for coming to check out their place. They have a small eating area if you want to stay and eat, but it’s probably best to take it to go if you’re in a rush. Check them out!

We decided to stop by Capos after reading a fellow Unilocaler’s(P Luly W) review and we absolutely loved it! Right when we walked in, we were greeted by Rick and he was telling us about the specials and what we could possibly order. We decided to start off with the Garlic Knots and man were they delicious. Talk about yummy pillowy baked dough with perfect seasoning! I loved them! For our pizza choosing, we had The Moe Green pizza. This consisted of basil pesto sauce, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, artichoke hearts, and some parmesan. That pizza was delicious!!! The dough was baked perfectly and was nice and crispy on the bottom of the crust. Yes, it’s a pizza but it was light and not your heavy typical pizza. I don’t know how else to explain it. We then took some mini Cannolis to go and really enjoyed them. I wish I had ordered more. The place is rather small, but I really enjoyed the coziness. I would definitely visit and order some«pie» there again!!! I love to see small business owners share their passion and love. Support your local business owners!

Wow! So impressed with everything on my first visit that I just had to write a review and let y’all know about this place. Thought I would be the first to tip and review… but nope, I got beat out by my own hubby… Pedro W. WTH?! He hardly ever Unilocal… much less write reviews. Just goes to show how good this place is! Pedro’s family is from Jersey City, NJ… just across the bridge from NYC. So he’s very particular about his«pies and sangwich»(aka pizzas and subs). He was super excited to get a taste of home. About Capos… it’s a small 6 seater joint. Open 7 days a week 11am — 9pm. Definitely take out if you have a big party. Got your usual line-up here… pizza, subs, salads, calzone, etc. Everything is very reasonably priced. In a hurry? Grab two slices and a soda for just $ 4. Joint has only been opened for about a week. If you have any issues, please let the owner know. He is there all the time and is willing to do what it takes to make you a happy(repeat!) customer. A little background about Rick — the owner. He’s originally from Buffalo, NY. He used to own Goomba’s here in SATX — up until 2009. Then he went on to be a chef at other places in town. Recently, he helped open Fratello’s Italian Market and Deli. We loved the pizzas and rolls there as well… all Rick’s recipes. So I’m not surprised that we love Capos. We’ve technically(unknowingly) been eating Rick’s food for about a year now at Fratello’s. I’m not sure who’s at the helm at Fratello’s now. But, knowing that Rick and his recipes are at Capos, I’ll be making the drive here from now on. Thank you, Big Bob(from Big Bob’s Burgers) for giving us the heads up on this place. Love how local restaurant owners support each other. I also love supporting small, local businesses. Hopefully you do too and will come out and give Capos a try!
