Sorry, Blanco Rentals: three strikes and yoú’re out. I have intermittently needed to rent outdoor equipment(mainly mowers) and, given location, I have given Blanco Rentals the old college try on a few different occasions. Now, after a less than spectacular interaction with the«manager» there today on the phone, I am finally swearing off the place. Here’s my assessment/experience: (1) I have rented mowers from them twice and on both occasions something was broken. The first time one of the wheels actually fell off(no joke), forcing me to pull a quick fix on the spot in order not to leave my lawn half mowed. The other time, the plastic guard over the chute where the grass spews out literally blew off. I used to wire to reattach it. Nice… (2) Their prices appear to be above market from what I can deduct from my admittedly informal and anectdotal sampling of the SA rental market. (3) Their customer service is confusing, at best. I tried to have a logical discussion with the manager there on a rental period and left more confused than when I began. He stayed amiable, but the policy he was pitching didn’t make sense and his lack of a willingness to work with a customer was disheartening. So, once you add crappy machines to above market prices to sub-par customer service, my days as a Blanco Rentals customer are over. Thanks for the ride Blanco Rentals, when your wheels were attached, it was interesting.
