This place has had issues since it opened. Changing the menu. Bring in these Nasty waffle fries. Then going back to the good fries. Forgetting things you order. Sometimes my fish sandwich is perfect. Sometimes it’s not. Quality issues. And being cheap on condiments. But that’s the Bill Miller brand for you. Running out of lemons at a sea food restaurant. Really??? Then to top it off the male evening manager is a smart a$$. I really don’t like his condescending attitude. I will say I have spoken to the female store manager more then once and she is VERYNICE. Knows how to deal with a unhappy customer.

This was my first time here. I ordered the fried shrimp and oyster combo. Let me tell you, the fried oysters are great and I will come back again just for the oysters. I also liked the tartar sauce, and the fries with ranch. The ranch is really good. The hush puppy was not good, and the shrimp was ok, as was the coleslaw. They have a drive thru.

I’m a fan … I love the fried and the grilled fish, especially the grilled fish tacos. Way better than, C’Beaux’s down the street. And not over priced.

Seafood that comes just one way: Deep fried, South Texas style. If you’re hankering for that Mustang Island, Port Aransas, Galveston sea food flavor then this is where you satisfy that craving in San Antonio.

Since I don’t eat fried food anymore, my only really choice here is the Lemon Pepper Fish, which is quite good besides being somewhat over-salted. Just because food isn’t fried doesn’t mean it can’t have flavor without all that sodium. They have a clean, well-stocked condiment bar and decent eating area. High chairs were a little dirty, no one ever thinks to give those a good wipe down. Fried food eaters seemed to enjoy their meals. I think Bill Miller’s was smart to create this fish alternative to their regular restaurant, especially from the long lines during Lent! My rating system: 5 stars= Driving across town just for this! 4 stars= I would recommend visiting. 3 stars= Average, acceptable, positive. 2 stars= You might be able to drag me in. 1 star= I will definitely not be returning.

Bill Miller’s needs to stick with what they know best, 2nd rate corporate chain BBQ. I came here yesterday and was disappointed. Fish and shrimp combo with fries, coleslaw, buttered bread 2 hushpuppies and a cup of Bill Miller’s famous sweet tea for $ 10. What a ripoff! The shrimp were tiny, fries were too huge and thick, hushpuppies were fair and the fish wasn’t Gyro’s, Rudy’s or Sea Island quality. And don’t get me started on the overly tart key lime pie. Where is the whipped cream topping most key lime pie slices come with Laguna Madre? So with that being said, save your money and go to either of the above seafood places I’ve mentioned or just go to Long John Silver’s and get more bang for your buck there.

This place is great for a quick seafood meal and if you don’t mind it fried, the lunch specials are very reasonably priced. The first time I came I got the fish and shrimp lunch plate — oh my goodness — too much food for me. I had to eat most of it because it was so good, but I felt miserable afterward. Now I just get the shrimp because that is my favorite thing, and the batter they use is very tasty. I have a friend that gets the fried cod because she prefers the fish — so its your call. They also have it grilled, but just be prepared to wait about 3 or 4 more minutes to get your food. The lunch plates come with two sides and a piece of buttered bread. If you don’t ask for a specific side, you get fries and coleslaw. But if you want options — just ask what your options are. My favorite thing about this place is the cookie. When you get it with your order, it is warm and gooey. I am a cookie snob and this cookie tastes like homemade. Lots of large chunks of chocolate. If nothing else, come for the cookie.
