Being stationed in Texas and hearing Bill Miller’s as a BBQ staple in this area made me all the reason to try it. Maybe was the hype or knowing it was BBQ and being in Texas it will be pretty good but the food was pretty much cafeteria style food. You order in an buffet cafeteria type of line, menu is up front and you can choose combos or meats for your plate. I ventured getting variety of meats with the two meat combo: bbq brisket, sausage links, side of potato salad, Mexican rice, beans, a jalapeño and slice of their pecan pie as well. The bbq brisket was subpar, not really juicy and bbq sauce wasn’t really thick. The meat was quality between cafeteria and frozen banquet dinner. The sausage links were just average nothing popped, potato salad average as well, the Mexican rice was ok. beans were beans nothing special, I’m just glad they had hot sauce there. Only way this post is getting 2 stars at all is the pecan pie and sweet tea. The pecan pie was pretty good and after eating my meal I was fretting eating the slice of pie but maybe crediting how good the pie was from having to eat bland food, the sweet tea had the exact amount of sugar to void it to be a weak sweet tea and enough to stray away from a diabetic shock with each sip. Gave Bill Miller’s the benefit of the doubt of being in Texas and hearing praise and made me look past the buffet setting which ultimately mask that afterall it’s a cheap poor fix that doesn’t live up to even the basic bbq food you can get elsewhere.

The meat was not on the counter but stashed in the back somewhere?! I ode red fried chicken just to be safe. Prices seemed high! Is it because it’s near the Alamodome? The condiment counter was missing?! Had to go back trough the line to get condiments! The chicken was good but not hot. The French fries were a small portion and they were lukewarm and wilted. Yuck ! Does not hold up to Bill Millers’s on the west and Southside. Pitiful. Who owns and or manages this location?

Probably some of the worst BBQ I’ve ever had. And their sauce is equally as bad. It was closer to marinara sauce than bbq sauce. Green beans were in some red sauce as well. This is Texas and supposed to be a bbq joint not Italian. Bland beans, and slaw was terrible, no crunch to it at all. Highlights were the iced tea and pickles! Maybe they have good breakfast, maybe their fried chicken is good, I don’t know, didn’t try. But if you are wanting some real Texas BBQ, don’t go here.

I really will never understand why San Antonians think this place is so great! I’m from Houston and I’m use the real barbecue places that don’t fry chicken! The brisket is ok. The«barbeque» chicken is horrible! It’s dry like it’s been baked all night! Pappas barbeque would run circles around it any day! The breakfast burrito is just meat slapped on a tortilla! Pappas breakfast burrito is a large tortilla stuffed with your desired meat, eggs and cheese and it’s cheaper! I guess if you don’t know any better Bill Miller is sufficient.

I promised myself not to go back here(dining in), so bad! I’ll just go for drive thru because the food was superb. Very convenient, if you’re on a long trip!

Today I ordered the salad delight with chicken strips and it was good, but what is up with staff not giving you bacon bits or cheese anymore. I’m always a fan of salads but today I was not happy with the size, I think their salads got smaller. I didn’t even get a roll, what a bummer. Staff was friendly though.

Not bad… Buffett style, fast bbq. Very friendly and nice atmosphere. Brisket had great flavor and very tender. I will say the tea is fresh and so good!

Most Bill Miller’s don’t offer breakfast but the one by my work does and wow, that is dangerous. I can thank the sausage and egg/chorizo con huevo/potato and egg/bacon and egg breakfast tacos for the 15lbs I feel added to my curvy curves. A taco plus a large coffee comes out to under $ 5 and the drive thru ensures I won’t be walking this off anytime soon. It’s directly across from the Alamodome, exit Chavez(how super convenient). Lunchtime is a bit hectic and I notice mainly blue collar workers tracking mud inside but it’s that rainy time of year so it’s ok. I got a free ice tea refill the other day even though I had purchased my tea earlier in the day. I thought that was nice. I hate the ice tea police(see my Whataburger review). It’s two cent flavored water gimmeabreak. So thank you Bill Miller girl. You’re cool esa! I’ll probably avoid the lunchtime crowd though. I feel like a doe during hunting season with the wolf packs feeding at the tables next to me. They’re not so tough-looking munching on that pecan pie but still. I prefer going here for breakfast, through the drive-thru and coming back later for my ice tea refill.

This is one of the few stores that keep crew members and that translates to quality service. The tea being consistent is very important especially with the price increase. To be able to have good tea 10 minutes from closing is awesome.

We could smell this place from our hotel for two days and finally checked it out. Awesome BBQ and super cheap!

Bill Miller BBQ is a local chain, with locations at seemingly every turn in San Antonio. But for«fast food» BBQ, this place is pretty good. We went twice on our trip to S.A. There was a location right near the Alamodome, so we got a bite to eat following a UTSA football game. The portions are pretty big; I had a combo plate that was loaded with chicken, turkey, brisket, sausage and ham, so I had plenty to eat. The next day I grabbed a turkey sandwich to go and at it on my plane trip home. Great desserts too. You have options with more panache and reputation, but this is a better than you’d think spot to eat some decent BBQ without blowing your budget.

If this is the best barbecue in Texas then I’ll just keep eating barbecue in Los Angeles California. The ribs were dry and not very good, the sides were mediocre at best, the service was okay. The girl got my order wrong, but the staff was very helpful helping me find out if the food had anything I was allergic to. They seemed friendly. That’s the reason they’re getting two stars instead of one.

Place was okay. Ask for a number 1 poorboy with fries. Fries were fresh and sandwich also. The problem is the bottom if the bun was soggy. For the price and quantity of food does not make sense. For 8 buck I think I will go some where else to eat.

Decent location– same menu and quality staff as every other location in SA, but being on the fringe of downtown, this one is good at quickly handling a lunch crowd and tends to have a relatively fast drive-thru. My office gets lunch here frequently, usually sending one person and a list through the Drive-Thru, and 90% of the time the order is accurate– a fairly high percentage considering the customizations we tend to do. Only problem with this location is that they do not serve breakfast– would love to be able to stop here and reliable get a good bfast taco that doesn’t require getting out of my car or waiting in a long line(AKA most downtown taco places, such as the nearby Taco Haven).

Ok it was really hard to find the right Miller Bill that I went to because there are apparently tons of them! But this seems like the one — it was right across the Alamodome. I was on a tour bus and the drivers were giving me some tips on where to go since this was my free day after my business trip. I wanted to get some bbq, but without a car, many of the places they suggested were too far for me(and the expensive cab ride would have come out of my pocket). They told me that I could try this place, which was a chain, but at least I could leave Texas and say I got some good bbq. They were pretty awesome because they actually detoured to drop me off as close as they could to this place. Only if I would have known, I would have said no thanks because I was dropped off in the middle of a narrow tunnel at the end of the freeway. Talk about a chicken crossing the road — I was so scared to get hit by a car! I tried the sweet tea which was highly recommended by other Unilocalers. I don’t know why I got the biggest size of it because 1) I was on foot and bathrooms were hard to come by and 2) Why didn’t I think of the fact that I’d have to CARRY this big souvenir cup around?! It was very good though. I ordered the chicken and brisket and the taste was soooo delicious! I wanted to bring back some bbq sauce, but I didn’t want to have to carry it for who knows how many hours on foot. Oh did I mention I was on foot in disgustingly hot weather? The best part was that they had the condiment table where I could get as much bbq sauce as I wanted and I was able to load up on pickles like there was no tomorrow. Yummy BBQ, pickles and sweet iced tea — I got to leave Texas with my desire to have some good bbq fulfilled!

There is just so much good Bar-B-Q in Central and South-Central Texas that it just wouldn’t be right to rate this place any higher. Having said that, this is ok for a fast food chain Bar-B-Q. If you happen to be downtown near the Alamodome or Hemisfair Park around lunch time and are in a hurry and on a budget then this place might work for you. The people are super friendly. It’s just busy enough to know it’s a good place to eat but not so busy that you have to wait in line too long or struggle to find a seat. If you’re on the go they have a drive through as well. Quick, friendly, tasty, and good selection of meats and sides. The fried chicken is actually really good.

Great BBQ place! Love the brisket, the sausage, and the ribs; their BBQ sauce is de-lish as well as their sides of green beans, cole slaw, and potato salad! Been coming here when I have visited every year, just got around to writing a 5-star review. Be sure to buy a bucket! :)

Okay, this is a chain of BBQ restaurants, but this one is good! I had the rib and 2 meat plate. Mine was chicken and brisket. To start, it was all delicious! Meat was tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. The green bean side dish was awesome. It had lots of tomato and spices. Lots of juice which I dipped my chicken into. So good! Also had coleslaw, which was vinegary sweet with no Mayo. Very good. Potato salad was tasty, but I think it came from a food supply company. Had coconut cream pie, also bought off site, but good. And a «BUCKET» of diet Pepsi. Altogether a fine meal, served by a friendly helpful staff, and at a very decent price!
