Owner is really great, will give you a deal on things and helps students out a lot, a little pricy but evens out with student discount and like I said he will sometimes give you a deal if you chat with him.

My friend (the artist) and I give Asel 5 stars because of the type of items and help we were looking for — colored pencils, markers, acrylic paints. You’ll need to decide on other types of art supplies for yourself or read other reviews. The selection was extensive. John, at the store, went out of his way to educate us, give us anything that interested us to try out, and was an altogether helpful and delightful guide. Thanks, John!

Really great place: I love their selection of artist pens and markers, and the employees are incredibly helpful and knowledgable if you need something. They also always have a pretty great clearance section, which is always appreciated.

If you are looking for an art supply store, this is it. If you want a craft store, it’s called Hobby Lobby or Michael’s. Went in for something quick, stayed for about 30 mins, picking up more items and chatting with staff. Brushes were half off so I picked several up. Very pleasant and helpful.

Went to Asel Art to get supplies for signs. They were quick to acknowledge me! Directed me to the right paper stock etc. They were very helpful and friendly. I will go back.

I came here for a very specific, only to be had at Le Arte Shoppe kind of thing: Winsor & Newton Series 7 Size 2, 1, 0, and ³⁄₀.
When I walk in the door, the gal behind the counter asks if I need help with anything. Why yes, I need help finding a Winsor & Newton Series 7 Size 2, 1, 0, and ³⁄₀.
So she brings me over to the wall of Winsor & Newton brushes. Was there any specific kind I was looking for. Yes, Series 7 Size 2, 1, 0, and ³⁄₀.
Oh, they keep those behind the counter. So what sizes did I need? Size 2, 1, 0, and ³⁄₀.
Well, they don’t have a lot of them and they don’t like to reorder them because they’re «pricey» *shoots me a look* Sorry, but they only have the 2. They can order the rest.
And how much did this priceless artifact of exuberant wealth set me back? $ 17 with tax. OoOoOH! Better warn Mrs. H that we might not be able to make the mortgage this month!
So in review, for the honor of giving a small business $ 17 (when I was prepared to give them $ 100+), I got treated like an idiot and would have been better off ordering everything on the internet.

This store is awesome! I’m an architecture student and I always find what I need here! They have very selective materials which is very helpful. Also they always keep the materials in good shape! When I’ve gone to Hobby Lobby or other stores many time the things are dirty! If you have been here you know is a small store which for me is a plus. You don’t need to spend a lot of time in a store to find things because it’s already really selected for you! Not like in other bigger stores where you have a variety of things to chose from here they already have the best ones chosen for you. The only thing that I can criticize is that normally the employees aren’t really friendly. If you don’t really know the store or in my case sometimes I don’t really know what the material I need looks like, cause I’m a freshman, you might have trouble getting someone to help you. The only exception about this was yesterday. When I entered the store a man instantly said hello and started joking about things. I’m pretty sure he was the owner. He told me what I was trying to find and gave me advice in which ones to get according to the class it was for! I was feeling pretty tired when i got there and he really made my day joking around and left with a smile. He asked me if i had bandaids because I would definitely would get cut at some point making the models! That really made me laugh! Having people being nice to you in a store or a business really makes a difference.

Asel art is a supplier to elementary, middle, high school and college students, amateur and professional artists, designers, draughtsman, teachers, instructors and professors. This review will ignore criteria for warehouse stores that sell kits with numbered pictures and paint jars, this is not a craft store, items here are archival, and employees are familiar with best practices and usage. I have a masters degree in art and two and a half decades of teaching experience in art. I come here to try the latest products, and hear the down low on prep, mixability, cleanup, curing, and preserving the product before I demo it for students. I know that when students have shopped here they will return telling me that their experience was much like I described for myself.
High quality supports, dry and wet media, brushes, easels, artist utensils, drafting templates, archival, supplies, traditional, and non traditional techniques supported.

I feel very disappointed by my visit here. I was super excited to patronize this business because I love supporting small and local businesses. It is very close to where I live and all the reviews were fantastic. What could go wrong?
When I entered the store there were two employees standing at the cash register stand, one of them playing some sort of guitar game (?). Neither of them greeted me. That irked me right there. If you have never been here, you should know it is not a large store. It’s always so awkward to walk practically right into the employees when you first walk in and no one says anything to you.
After about 5 minutes of looking around a girl came up and asked if I was finding everything okay. Well, that started to improve things. I told her what I needed and asked for suggestions. I asked her to show me my options. She never smiled once. She wasn’t very detailed in her answers. I couldn’t tell if it was due to lack of knowledge, lack of caring, or both. I picked an item and she rang me up. I thanked her for her help. She didn’t thank me for coming in. She didn’t say you are welcome. She didn’t say anything. I left with the thick awkward silence she created between us. I’ll pay whatever price to support local, FRIENDLY, PERSONAL service. I spent $ 11 on a bottle of sealant I could have gotten at Hobby Lobby for $ 5 or less. If I want to go somewhere where no one greets me and no one is friendly or helpful, I might as well go to the big box stores because at least it’s cheaper for me.

I am so happy to have discovered this little treasure. I haven’t been able to restock on art supplies since I moved here because I really didn’t need to. until recently. Asel is a great little store. I found exactly what I needed and got a teacher’s discount to boot! I will most definitely be returning soon!

The staff here is extremely helpful and very welcoming. I’ve never gone to Asel and left without finding exactly what I needed. Great store!

This unassuming place, almost hidden in the corner of an unassuming strip mall, is a gem! This is NOT a hobby or craft shop. It is an honest-​to-​goodness art supply store. It’s well stocked with all your basics from oil paints to drafting markers. While they don’t have dozens of brands for everything, they’ve got enough brand variation to fit your wallet and a pretty darned good selection to meet your needs. Best of all they’re CHEAP!

this (to me) beats hobby lobby or Micheal’s anyday. its a small independently owned art store, so you can ask more questions and not have to hunt down the arts and crafts lady who only knows where the yarn is. it has drafting supplies, TONS of paint, pencils, markers, color pencils, paper, canvas, canvas stretching tools, alll kinds of stuff, i love this place.
