Fantastic place with fantastic tamales that also happen to be super affordable. The young man behind the counter was very welcoming and friendly, and I felt very at home even without knowing any Spanish.
Will definitely be back!

Was there this morning. Services is slow. I order a pound of all meat. Had no flavor. And dozen pork tamales were hard and dry. Maza does not taste good. Is hard to find good old fashion homemade tamales. At least have hot flour n corn ready for customers. Buz have go home an heat them up.

I have been to Adelitas since I was a kid. I remember them being very good until now. Fast forward to 20 years later and the molino has changed drastically. On a barbacoa Sunday my parents picked up a dozen tamales and barbacoa. When we began to open the foil ready to eat we noticed the tamales were«crudos»(not cooked well) we were very disappointed that we called and went back to Adelitas for a refund. I’m thinking its because it gets crowded being that the demand is high the employees are making these tamales fast. Since the holidays are coming up I would not recommend you order their tamales. I highly recommend you order from Rubens. You won’t leave disappointed.

Do not buy their maza if you’re looking for dough made of corn only. We were assured that the maza was not a mix of maseca and corn dough; it was. At the location we were offered a sample to view and touch. The small sample was maza(not mixed with maseca). We bought 20lbs. When we opened the package and got it ready to make tamales, it became apparent that maseca was mixed in. Texture and smell gave it away. Disappointed that they were so dishonest with us.

Tamales are the worst. Machine made with no meat. Totilla chips were stale. Corn tortillas were state. Threw them all away. Like an outlet mall for old food.

Best pork tamales on the planet! This has been a staple in my neighborhood for years! I’ve been eating their tortillas, barbacoa and tamales since 1989! Always fresh and delicious! During the holidays, they have plenty of people on staff to take your order, fast, friendly and affordable.

I’m not from San Antonio im from denver and these tamales are not to the standards that I have grown up to. I’m not going to compare these to homemade tamales because that would be unfair. But these tamales were dry small and had no flavor. Was very disappointed because I read reviews that these were the best tamales in town. If these are the best people need to come to denver to try tamales because those are amazing compared to these. The tortillas were nothing special either. Maybe it was just the day I went but I was very disappointed.

The first thing that you’ll notice is that this place is spotless. Kept very clean. Everything is right there for you. They offer barbacoa on the weekend with all the trimmings. We’ll try that next time. This our first visit was for tamales. We bought two dozen of the pork, $ 8 a dozen. The price is what I would say is the SA average. They were still hot when we got them home. They are pretty tasty and not overly greasy. I’d like to check out their chicken version next.

Went to buy pork tamales for New Year’s Eve party. Asked for chicken and pork. When I went to heat them up for the party found that I was given chicken and bean. Have been trying to call but no one answers the phone. Big disappointment.

My husband and I every year, about a week before Christmas Eve visit Adelita’s to pick up a few dozen tamales for our Christmas Eve celebration in Houston with my family. It’s become a tradition. The people there are friendly, helpful and the tamales are wonderful. There are way too may places where the meat/bean to masa ratio is just way off, but Adelita’s tamales are far from that. Normally the chicken tamales are dry and flavorless, but not at Adelita’s. The chicken and jalapeño have become a favorite of ours, but we normally go with bean, pork and chicken. We’ve never had a problem getting the pork or chicken, but the bean does run out a bit quickly so make sure you get there early enough. We find that it doesn’t hurt the flavor to freeze them for the week before everyone gets to enjoy them and it doesn’t take away from how great these tamales are fresh. I normally always pick up a bag of their fresh tortilla chips as well because you can never go wrong with those. Honestly, we don’t pick up tamales in Houston when we get there to visit family because you just can’t find any that are as good. We’re heading over today to pick up our next batch for this year and I always have a hard time not sneaking one before they go in the freezer! I’m one of those types of people who feels almost like it’s wrong to eat tamales before Christmas Eve because my taste buds are just so ready for them by then and it’s a tradition with our family(like some other gringos I hear), but I could eat these just about anytime!

Its tamale season and they should be ready for hungry customers coming to pick up breakfast! Shame my recent visit didn’t include the bean tamales(they weren’t ready) and they were out of avocado! At least they comped me some free salsa because I was very bummed! Ill be back for you, bean tamales! The little known fact is Adelita’s is open year round, they make great tortillas to take home, those fried cinnamon crunchie tortillas(insert correct name here) and have delicious sweet breads. Mmm delicious ideas for office parties always win extra points during the holidays!

If you do not have the requisite number for your own tamalada then Adelitas is the place. I am a big fan of their chicken and jalapeño tamales. They have the perfect match of masa and chicken. I was a big fan of their chile but they changed the recipe.
