This place is OK and based on my most recent experience is in the better half of bars in downtown. There was no cover and the drinks were reasonable, $ 6 for top shelf gin and tonic with generous amounts of gin. The look of the bar is nice and they have plenty of TVs but not a sports bar.
My only real complaint is that on this visit, there was a DJ playing music. The music was loud enough you had to shout to be heard. While it’s been years since my last visit, this seems to be the norm.
Overall, this is a decent option if in downtown San Angelo. I’d return here but am in no rush to do so.

Fun place to drink on any night. Bartender has a good pour, and that’s all any whiskey-​drinking man can ask for. There’s a good crowd, and I like it here.

Walked up to the bar and ordered a drink and before the bartender handed it to me the manager said I had to leave because I was wearing a football jersey. Apparently that is against their dress code. Meanwhile down at the end of the bar the fat slob with his belly hanging out under his dirty t-​shirt is good to go. Get real management, it’s San Angelo. It must be nice to be doing so well that you can turn away money. I’m sure Grinner’s was happy about the large bill I rang up that night. Won’t go back.

I’m definitely a bar snob and expect perfection. That said, as far as San Angelo goes, it’s the closest to big city quality as I have found. Bar tops could be kept cleaner, maybe a little more hospitality from the bartenders, but it was still a good experience and I will return with friends.
–Bathrooms we’re clean.
–Empty tables were immediately cleaned.
–Wait time at tables is not too bad.
CONS-​no outdoor smoking/​sitting area. Otherwise would be a solid 4 stars.

We went here several times and enjoyed drinks after or before dinner else. Hopefully they serve food now. They have live music and they get packed on Saturday night. Great staff, clean bathrooms and bartenders are great. Reasonable prices
