Went here for lunch today. Literally the most amazing croliner ever. It was chocolate topped and a custard filling. And their turkey bacon avocado sandwich was so delicious. The bread definitely made the sandwich. I will come back!

Best breakfast sandwiches EVER! I work in the building next door, and have had breakfast pretty much everywhere that serves breakfast in the downtown area, and the best breakfast sandwiches are here at Vosen’s. The croissant rolls are what make the sandwiches. They are huge and when they toast them, they stay flakey, yet have a bit of a crisp crunch to them. I’ve also had the quiche and it’s done really well as well, but I’m still a die-hard fan of the breakfast sandwiches. The chai lattes are pretty good, but steep in price for this area. I love the little shelves full of German foods and sweets! My boyfriend loves Kinder bars, and we come here to get them because they are tough to find in the states. I can’t think of the name of them, but they also sell theses frosted German gingerbread cookies that are really good, and come straight from Germany!

Staff picks: –Sweets: Marzipan pastry, Beinenstich(resounding crowd favorite and also personal favorite) –Bread: Italian rustique(perfect for olive oil and vinegar or dipping in tomato soup) Extra Sourdough(by call in order only) –Rolls: Italian with cheese or Focaccia(only ocassionally in store but always available when ordered a day in advance) –Imports: Buenos by Kinder is my absolute favorite. The Lorenz paprika chips. Softi candy(juicy and yummy like now and laters, a bit more tangy– theres another larger version of this currently in stock that i cannot think of the name) I’m giving you this cheat sheet to the best of the best of Vosen’s German goodies. Although the croliners are all the rage, they’ll always be there for you. Try something different. Be that adventurous lil thing you always tell your friends that you are. Call a day in advance to make sure we order exactly whatever your heart desires. Wanted a special order of apricot filled croliners? Call it in. If you won’t be in until late in the day, give a call in the morning so we can put aside an order for you. We love you!

Tons of pastries to choose from that all look delicious but decided upon the famous croliner. The chocolate croliner was so delicious — coated in sugar and chocolate with yummy sweet creamy custard on the inside. I only regret not buying more!!! HIGHLY recommend.

Das ist sehr gut, ja. With my family’s love of Germany, it’s amazing this stop was the first time I’ve ever made it into Vosen’s. Vosen’s was the peace I needed before heading to work on the first Monday of 2016… after a 4 day weekend. I came in with the idea that I’d be heading to work with a full stomach after consuming a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. I left Vosen’s with just that… and a raspberry Croliner. I’m not really one for sweets, and definitely not doughnut lover in the least, but the Croliner was just too cute and new for me to pass up. I’ve been snacking on small bites of it throughout the day. How could you not? Since I had such an early start to the morning, coming in momentarily after they opened at 7am, I was primarily the only person in the shop. A few people came in and ordered things to go, but I was of the mindset of staying and enjoying breakfast while staring out the window contemplating my life choices… apparently no one else felt the same way. So suggestion: want quiet, mainly uninterrupted life reflection? Get to Vosen’s at 7am. Food wise, I went with the build-your-own breakfast sandwich — a set price of $ 4.25. My personal sandwich creation consisted of: scrambled eggs, cheese, pesto, tomato, onion and German pickles, smashed between 2 slices of bagel. The quality and price of my creation was way better than anything you’d receive from Einsteins — another vote to eat local first? I think yes. I still have bites of the Raspberry Croliner waiting for me in the fridge, but thus far it’s been scrumptious. The combination of the raspberry jam and cream filled innards are delicious, and not overbearing. It’s a great balance of dough to filling. There is also a cute«market» section of Vosen’s that consists of German-made/imported goods. A nice addition for when you’re craving slash missing all things Germany. I plan to venture out more with Vosen’s breads(seriously, I need to try ALL their breads) and baked goods, especially when I have much more time in the day to dedicate to the consuming cause, instead of just an early morning, delicious, cathartic reflection session of less than 45 minutes.

I know this is a German bakery, but I’m a fan for the French bread! C’est Bön! Merci Vosens! They also offer charming selection of fresh baked pastries. The staff is friendly and patiently explain the flavors, fillings and nuances of the German pastries and breads. They also make tasty sandwiches for breakfast and lunch, and will customize to suit your preferences. The store carries a nifty assortment of German and European items and snacks. On a whim, I tried one of the Almdudler sodas, it’s an Austrian carbonated beverage made with herbal extracts. Think ginger ale but more interesting and less gingery. Two free parking spots on the west side of the building. Make the trip, it’s yummy.

Pleasant service, best bakery here in slc to me. Great coffee and great cronut. Sweet, but not too sweet. Quiet, lovely afternoon tea place. Will definitely go back again and try more!

Visited here during a business trip to Salt Lake City. Amazingly kind and helpful staff. Delicious pastries. Prices are fair and they are quite generous with their portions. Will be back most definitely.

As I’m writing this review I’m munching on a cheese pretzel only after downing a berliner and of course coffee sips in between. Everything is delicious and service was pleasant. I visited Vosen out of caffeine desperation because I didn’t want to get caught snoozing at my desk(not much sleep lately) and why not try something new eh? But I won’t let this be the reason I stop by next time! Definitely try the apricot Berliner, it’s perfectly soft and not overly sweet. The also have a small section for packaged German sweets and specialties.

The Croliner is probably the best pastry item in all of Salt Lake. I moved away recently and when I come back to visit in the fall, Vosen’s is at the top of my list. I would love to try a sandwich or pretzel when I visit because the doughnut blew me away!

Tried the maple Berliner at their Farmer’s Market stand. The maple topping is good, think Banbury’s maple bar icing and you’re very close. Sweet but not cloying with a good amount of maple flavor. The flaky, lightly sugared croissanty bottom was delicious and fun to eat, if a little messier due to to it’s firmness(while biting, the top and bottom layers buckle like a double decker LA bridge, forcing the filling straight out the side.) The filling was«ok,» very creamy but not too flavorful. I would definitely come back or stop in their retail store for another go.

What a perfect place in the neighborhood! Good pastries and they sell pretzel buns! Feels like a tiny piece of Milwaukee in Salt Lake City! Love it!

I have a thing with Cronut(croissant donut), I really like the combination of croissant and donut, and when a friend shared his cronut from Vosen’s with me, I was thrilled to find out that the raspberry Croliner is the same as the one I had from Dolce Bistro at Fashion Place Mall. Whenever I go to Fashion Place, I had to stop by Dolce just for the cronut, now I don’t have to drive that far to get one. I have been to Vosen’s before they moved. I like the new location even better(45 degree parking is a little tricky for me). The interior is simple and chic, there’s a wooden chess table at the corner, too. The lady was nice and friendly, she offered to make chocolate Croliners(cronut) without cream filling for me when I said I wish there’s no cream.(you can request a day ahead, before 3pm) I didn’t want to leave the store with empty hands, so I took out my phone and read the reviews on Unilocal and bought the cheese pretzel. It is GOOD!(Sorry, Auntie Anne’s, I have found my new love.) I couldn’t stop sniffing the pretzel, the scent of the pretzel tells me that it’s different. this is what pretzel should smell like, it’s not just a bread dough with a special knot, it is pretzel. I also bought the berliner, honestly, it doesn’t taste like donut, it’s a bit dry, but because I couldn’t pick the flavors, the lady gave me both apricot and raspberry(I didn’t realized it until I left the place. I went back and she just smile and told me to enjoy them). When I walked in the next day to pick up my chocolate cronuts, I want to try other sweets, so the lady recommend apricot sheet cake(It’s not the exact name of the dessert, but I couldn’t remember nor pronounce the name so you’ll just have to visit the store and find out). It’s actually very refreshing and light. I usually need to have a cup of coffee when I have sweets, but not this time. The filling-less chocolate cronut is crispier than the regular ones. The chocolate is similar to semi-sweet dark chocolate, with the lightly sprinkle sugar croissant donut, it is just prefect! Not to mention how cheap it is. The average price for a cronut in Vegas is at least $ 5/each, I had one at «Press Morning» in the Four Season Hotel. it’s very similar to Vosen’s, but it costs more than $ 6!!! I also found out that Vosen’s share their goods with Refuge Centers in Utah.

Today’s experience: I went from wanting 1 pretzel roll, to 1 cheese pretzel roll, to 5 Berliners and 6 Croliners on top. Yikes! Haha. Don’t worry I didn’t eat them all… Or did I? I first tried Vosens for their Croliners because I was craving a croughnut(I have not found any Utah bakeries that have croughnuts!). I stopped here today to just get one thing, but I ended up buying treats for my whole office! Service was awesome, friendly and quick. I got a free cookie, a couple of muffins, and a brownie for my extra big purchase. I haven’t tried their food and I don’t think I will because nothing looks special. I definitely only come here for their pastries especially their specialized German pastries and their cheese pretzel!!!

Was ist das?! A German bakery in Salt Lake City?! Oh mein Gott! Yes, folks! Vosen’s is wunderbar! It’s a small German bakery in a clean and well-kept area of Salt Lake City. They offer a variety of real German baked goods including Berliners, Brötchen, and my favorite: Käsestangen(a delicious cheese-topped pretzel stick). But the best baked good is, hands down, the Cro-liner. Picture a cakey, light, and slightly sugar dusted Berliner mixed with the flaky, buttery layers of a croissant. These come in standard variety(with raspberry jelly/jam inside), chocolate covered with cream/custard filling, and maple covered with cream filling. All of them are fantastisch! They also carry various German foodstuffs, like Chio paprika chips, which are, without a doubt, the BEST chips in the world, and a wide variety of Haribo gummy candies, German cookies, and other German condiments and sundries. The service is great, too! Every time I’ve gone, the ladies at the bakery are friendly and sweet, and they often throw a free muffin or cookie my way if I get a big order. I keep coming back here to get my German food fix after living there for over eight years, and I can say that it is as close to Germany as you are going to get for Utah.

This is a cute bread shop that also has a lot of European food items for sale as well. I went with the Ruben and thought it was okay. The presentation was a little underwhelming and seemed like something I could easily make myself for cheaper. The hazelnut stuffed croissant was decent. I was hoping for something a little bit sweeter, but my chai tea was a nice pick me up to this average lunch.
