Amazing restaurant. Unique and delicious food, classy décor, and very friendly staff. I’ve never been to a restaurant quite like Finca and I mean that in the best possible way. Great place to bring groups or family. One of my favorite restaurants in Salt Lake City.

How sad. Use to be my go to place for cool tapas and a great date night experience. Ever since they moved to downtown SLC it has gone downhill. The only thing decent about the meal was the wine. Unfortunate.

We rented the restaurant out for a team dinner during the Young Living Essential Oils Convention. The manager, Clinton, was so flexible and easy to work with. He really worked hard to ensure that our event was special. The staff were really friendly and courteous. The food is AMAZING! I highly recommend the bacon wrapped dates, the steak, the squash and paella. The honey lavender gin and tonic was so yummy! I will definitely be going back there!

The food here was good, not great. Service stunk. I think our server had too many tables and at one point we went to the bar to order wine with one of our courses. Server was working her ass off so I blame management. Also the prawns tasted like they had been there for several days. If you are in SLC you can skip this place and go to Pallette just around the corner.

Dined here again, having several plates and wine. The food was excellent. The waiter easily accommodated my gluten and sugar intolerance. We will return. Try the scallops!

Food very disappointing! Came for lunch and order the gamba sandwich and croquettes. The shrimp in the sandwich was battered like southern po’boy but ¼ of the size for $ 8. The croquettes were okay but the sauce for the croquettes was green and tasted like wheat grass. The guy who served me was nice and friendly that’s why I gave it 2 stars. The food itself 1 star.

Came with a group of 8 with a reservation. Took them forever to seat us — inexplicable. Service was sooooo sloooooow. I know this is a European style thing here. But there is a line between relaxed pace and just slow/terrible service. That line was crossed. The food is awesome. Potato dish was fantastic as was the calamari. Empanadas were on point. They added a couple of small plates to our tab and then claimed that we ordered them. They reversed the charges, but come on, don’t try to sneak things on a tab. Poor form. Probably won’t be back.

I’m late writing this review but I have been here twice and I was never disappointed. My father in law even tried scallops which he HATES. My favorite dish was grilled octopus. It had a little charred and seasoned perfectly and not rubbery at all. My second fave dish I believe was called pulp it had octopus, potatoes and green olives. Just fyi I hate green olives but these were so fresh and just absolutely wonderful and it completed the dish. I also tried the papas aioli both times and the potatoes were perfectly cooked and crispy but soft and the aioli didn’t make them soggy. The aioli was spot on as well. I will definitely be going back and recommend it to anyone who will listen. The staff was always polite and very attentive. They were knowledgeable about the wines and beer, plus the Spanish wines they serve are amazing(my fave wines are spanish). The first time I went I made a reservation but we got there early and they seated us immediately. Being our first tapas restaurant we had no clue what to do and the staff was very helpful as to how much to order based on the 2 of us dining. The restaurant was very clean and wasnt cluttered and very nicely decorated without going overboard. Do yourself a favor and try this place!

Well I’m bummed. We just tried Finca for the first time since their move, and it didn’t live up to our last experience. Sadly the paella was overcooked, and a bit overpowering with what I believe was cumin. The chicken itself was bland. I don’t know if maybe it was just an off night, different chef, or if they changed things when they switched locations, but I hope it was just a bad night. It wasn’t horrible, it just wasn’t awesome like our last visit, which was such a bummer because we were so excited and chose to spend our anniversary there, anxious for that awesome paella. C’est la vie, I guess.

Clinton helped orchestrate a lovely retirement celebration dinner for 45 people. The food and service were top notch and commented on by several guests the next day. Two people mentioned they prefer their steaks more well done — so make sure you are clear on how you want the inside of your steak cooked. I don’t fault Finca for that as I heard others saying the steak was perfect — so that is just a personal preference on medium vs medium well. Guests also loved the el jefe and churro desserts that Clinton recommend. We were in the back of the restaurant vs a private room so there were issues with hearing the toasts in a busy restaurant. There was a room off to the side but it was too small for our group. We would definitely go to Finca again for dinner.

My third visit here. I’m not sure what happened. Our waiter was very odd– he would disappear for extended amounts of time, no where to be found. He made off comments that didn’t seem appropriate and we felt as if we were an inconvenience to him our entire visit. My friend and I ordered the Spring Sling which was delicious and refreshing. We ordered another round and they arrived … In different glasses… With very little ice… And a different garnish. Oh. And it was a totally different drink/flavor too. When we Finally Tracked our waiter down(again) the ice was almost totally melted … And we told him we’d like to send the drinks back and have the drinks we ordered. After no apology, an attitude and a mumbled excuse about a bartender in training, he took the drinks back. Two more drinks arrived and were again perfect. Not sure what happened there. When the time came for the bill service was PAINFULLYSLOW. we needed alcohol on a different tab(for business expense) and this proved difficult. Another 40 minutes we sat … Waiting Waiting Waiting for our cards to be run. Finally went to the hostess and she graciously helped us. Our waiter received his tip based on his service. Hopefully that was a sign but somehow I think it was lost on him. Food was amazing as usual. The service and drink mishap is the reason I gave 3 stars.

We loved every second of our experience. Conner was a great server with a smile. We tried the cheese plate, the potatoes with garlic Aoli was delish, as my hubby says… Spanish Poutine. We tried the pork belly, octopus, and empanadas. We were so stuffed we didn’t get to dessert. The drink selections were out of this world. When we return we plan on trying the steak and the pork stuffed peppers. The atmosphere reminded us of our favorite Cancun Resort ME Cancun. Little tip go after 7:00 and then you only need an hour on the parking meter.

Finca is 3 – 4 star food, at 5 star prices. Some of their dishes are above average, and others fall flat. Every small plate is $ 9+, which makes a disappointing dish into more of a devastating dish. Choose wisely. They’re also not as «shareable» as most small plates/tapas joints. The cheese plate is fantastic, but small, for $ 17. The service is excellent and the ambiance is super cool. But the food and experience just don’t quite measure up to the price.

Finca does an honest job of representing the small plate tradition in Spanish cooking. The food is decent but rarely exciting. I had the Trout mousse, crudo, white bean stew, croquetas and papas y aioli. The trout was a tiny dish on a crisp lavosh and easily the best morsel of the evening. In fairness, I don’t eat pork and several of their more popular dishes were off my list. That said, the white bean stew, as an example, had firm consistency but no memorable impact on the palate. The service had a strange tempo: 3 dishes arrived within 5 minutes and I had to ask my server to slow down the arrival. Good wine list and decent value for the money. Walkable to Abravanel hall. I’d try it again but wouldn’t go far out of my way to book in advance

I had a very strange dinner at Finca this evening. While the food was utterly fantastic, the service was bizarre, amateurish, and inattentive. Our server, a very pleasant young woman, was timing her visits to our table oddly, and long stretches went by when we simply did not see her. I realized the restaurant was slammed with a private party, but that’s no excuse. My poor relationship with the server began when I did not accept her suggestion for a Basque(Euskadi) white wine, and opted for a Ribeiro instead. She seemed offended some how. I apologize, but after many years being a sommelier in Milwaukee, I know what I like. We ordered their inimitable Brussels Sprouts for an appetizer and the servers brought two plates for us to share the dish. For our main dishes, we chose the Tagine and the Fideo. I guess we were expected to use the same two plates for the entrees as the Brussels Sprouts. That’s ridiculous, as the cheese sauce used for these sprouts would clash with the flavors of both the Tagine and Fideo. When I asked for additional plates for our Tagine and the Fideo, the staff was taken back and looked aghast at me when I requested a bowl for the shells. Mine you, I said«please,» «thank you,» and I was perfectly pleasant. The food at Finca deserves the same great service we receive at Pago! These servers need better training, please. The kitchen deserves service that matches their creative endeavors. My Tagine was delicious and the Fideo tasted fabulous. I think the noodles needed to be a bit more crisp(socarrat) but that’s my personal palate. I love Finca, but amateurish and poorly trained service should not be tolerated.

The food was not horrible however if I’m going to pay $ 100 for a tapas dinner I would expect that the service would be on par with that. We were surprised that he servers were just in t-shirt and jeans and overall very disheveled looking with a poor attitude. Not what I was expecting for a ‘high end’ restaurant downtown.

Finca was beautiful on the east side, and now it’s still beautiful in its downtown location. I am, of course, pleased as hell that it’s now much closer to my house. The feel is classy diner-style, with the black and white floor and all. This is a much darker place than the old location. Maybe too dark if your eyes are bad, but I dig the mood lighting. The food hasn’t changed much. All the tasty old favorites are still around, with a revolving cast of tasty and delicious seasonal things. I can’t think of anything I’ve had here that wasn’t great. Sometimes the service suffers at the new location, though. It’s a big place, and it seems that sometimes they have trouble keeping up. One time one of the things we ordered got lost(we got it for free). On NYE they were especially overwhelmed, so that was a long dinner. Don’t come here if you’re in a hurry.(But you’re eating Spanish food. Why would you want to hurry?) But the food is top notch, and that’s why I keep coming back. If you like your plates small, you should find yourself here.

Okay. My first thought was«this is cute, nice décor, atmosphere» but by the end I found myself saying«this place is good if you’re already full» although the food was okay, portions were so small especially for the price and the waitress didn’t know very much about the menu and acted like we didn’t belong throughout the entire meal. So… went once for the atmosphere, won’t go back however.

Let me say that I came here for Valentines day weekend as part of their special tasting and wine pairing. I think the atmosphere is amazing, especially for a nice romantic date. It certainly has a been of a rustic Spanish feel. The food included pork belly, duck, salad appetizer, cheese plate, and a gazpacho. While everything was good, nothing jumped off the plate for me. The duck was the biggest disappointment as it was quite chewy, but it did have good flavor. The portions were sufficient for Tapas. Do I think it was a great value for about $ 100 a person, not at all all. However, I still would like to give it another try. The service was great from the host to the servers. I did very much enjoy the cocktail and wine pairings with the meal too.

Finca is a delightful place. The décor is classy, dark wood, black and white checkered floor, diffused lighting, and tables with linens and chairs that resemble a French bistro. The staff are pleasant and professional and a bit on the hipster side. Definitely check this place out for brunch. It’s usually quiet and mellow, perfect for catching up with the girls. The steak and eggs I had were matched with fantastic potatoes.

This place is legit!!! The staff and the food were great! I know there are mixed reviews about this place, but I had to check out the hype. I sat down at the lounge waiting for my girls to arrive when I was greeted by the bartender if I wanted a cocktail. It’s 1230pm here, but it’s 5 o’ clock somewhere right??? I had their $ 5 Bloody Mary and it was alright. I should have asked for Tito’s vodka, but I’m sure the price would’ve quadrupled. I also tried the grapefruit mimosas and the original. I have to say that the grapefruit is worth a try people!!! As appetizers, we ordered the croquettas, Brussels sprouts and meatballs. Can’t remember their fancy names for it but you can see the photos below. The croquettas almost taste like potato balls at Portos in Downy, CA. Almost. It had a nice crunch on the outside and a gooey center inside. 4 pieces for $ 10. Brussels sprouts had a nice bite to them with cream sauce over it. I like Brussels sprouts but FINCA took them to another level of yummy! The meatballs were pretty good too with lots of flavors packed into each bite. Now on to my entrée. I ordered the huevos Benedict. I was actually getting full from the drinks and the appetizers so half of this went inside a to-go box. I wanted my egg to be a little runny because I love me some runny yolk, but it was a bit over-poached. Boo. Although it is a little pricey, the quality of each bite is worth it. I’d come back again for brunch again or even try their dinner menu

I had high hopes for this restaurant I am sorry to say it fell short. As a Florida native I was in search of an authentic Cuban sandwich and I came across this Restaurant on Unilocal. I waited for my next cheat meal and made a beeline to Finca. After paying a crazy $ 10 for a Cubano that should be $ 4 or $ 5 at the most I patiently waited for my server to bring me my new reason for living and eagerly hoping to be transported back to Florida with the yumminess… At first glance was disappointment but I held out hope that the flavor would still be there. I took my first bite and shed a tear as I realized I had eaten yet another wannabe Utah Cuban sandwich sigh… I guess I will have to wait until I return to Florida for that yummy goodness And in the meantime I will continue to go to Zupas for my knock off Cubanos since they are almost half the price and have better flavor. Hopefully your Spanish Tapas are better Finca My food review is only for the Cuban sandwich which was my first and only visit. Had the price not been completely ridiculous I might have given a higher rating as it’s not fair to judge a restaurant off of one menu item… But based on price, the dreary dark ambience inside and the Cubano that fell extremely short I must roll with 1 star

Initially was really excited about going to Finca as I had heard great reviews and love tapas. Things worth ordering: Sangria, homemade gin cocktails, and the cheese board. Unfortunately this restaurant proved to be like several I’ve experienced in Utah — under-seasoned with a lack of promised flavor. To explain, I read the menu and see big, bold flavors that just weren’t delivered. Finca isn’t an inexpensive place, so paying a little on the high end for under-seasoned food isn’t for me.

I love places like this, a cool building, friendly staff and food with complex flavors. In response to some previous reviews it’s not a place you should go if you are in a hurry, it’s a place you should go expecting to take some time enjoying food and friends… or just food.

What a disaster. We had reservations for 9:00 on New Years Eve. We arrived and could tell the restaurant was slammed. Surprisingly, they were able to seat us on time, which was promising. However they sat us at some extra folding tables they had set up in the bar area, right next to the door. Every time the door opened we froze. My dinner partner politely asked if we could be seated elsewhere, due to the temperature and the fact that we were basically sitting in the middle of a thoroughfare where everyone else was standing and waiting to be seated. The hostess assured us that there were no other tables available. The menu was a six-course tasting menu and optional wine pairings. We didn’t receive water or utensils when seated. The first plate, a small cracker with cheese and grapes appeared 25 minutes after we sat, with no sign of our waitress. 15 minutes later our waitress showed up to take our order. We ordered the wine pairings, and cocktails as well to tide us over, since a table next to us informed us how long the dishes were taking to arrive. An hour into our«dining» experience, the salad came, but we still had no silverware. The salad was a head of romaine chopped in half, with 3 grapes and a vinaigrette. 1 hour and 30 minutes into the debacle our cocktails arrived. Around the same time, our first plates arrived. The leek dish(one charred leek with mushrooms) was dried out and cold, the melted cheese had congealed on top. The brussels sprouts were tasty — truly the highlight of the meal — as it was the only cooked food we received. They were simply brussels sprouts in a cream sauce and I have no idea why they would have taken so long to prepare and arrive. At this point we informed our waitress that since it was quickly approaching 11 o’clock that we would have to leave to head to a New Year’s Eve party, and she ensured us that she would be at least able to get the cheese plate out to us before we have to go. She was unable to do so, and attempted to get us a cheese plate to go, but could not accomplish this either. My issue here was not the food. My issue was that they served a fixed menu and knew how many people were going to be at the restaurant as reservations were required. Finca was unable to seat and serve their customers. The plates took on average 30 – 40 minutes to arrive and they were items like salad and cheese that only have to be plated, not cooked. The air in the restaurant was that of confusion — customers not understanding what was happening, and food arriving dried-out and cold. At no point did management step in and comfort customers, it was left up to the servers who were running around like chickens with their heads chopped off, cleaning glasses, serving food, running checks, et cetera to apologize for the lack of service. Luckily, the waitress assured us that we would not pay for the food, though we had to pay for our wine and drinks. As we were leaving, the hostess made a snarky comment about how she was sure all the restaurants in Salt Lake were probably having the same issue. I somehow doubt that.

I’ve been converted to the Finca dinner. The dark dining room becomes intimate and relaxing in the evening. The booths were obviously preferred as almost all were occupied by small parties and no tables were taken. My reservation for two was at 6.30PM on a Monday night and we were promptly seated. Water was poured for the both of us and I quickly ordered the Royal Dock gin with lemongrass citrus tonic. I am a big fan of gin and tonics; the lemongrass citrus tonic is bright, refreshing, and works so well with gin. Based on the recommendation of our waiter, we ordered three small plates to share. The Brussels Sprouts were recently added back to the menu and there were no regrets about ordering them. Bacon always goes well with brussels sprouts and the generous sized chunks drizzled with the surprisingly light sherry cream sauce on the perfectly roasted brussels sprouts was a delicious choice. Per the waiter’s recommendation, we got the White Bean Stew. I was ambivalent about the lamb as I am in the process of learning to like the meat, but I was quite surprised how much I enjoyed the stew. The meat was tender and thoroughly seasoned. The beans were tender but not falling apart. It was the ideal meal as we transition into colder fall weather. I’m a sucker for grilled scallops and Finca did not disappoint. The dish was beautifully plated and the scallops were well seared. The piparra relish had a slight kick to it but nothing crazy and it worked with the rest of the components on the plate. Everything on the plate was finished. We were surprisingly full but there is always room for dessert. Although I have had and am a fan of the churros, I decided to break tradition to try something new: the Flan Blanco De Miel. Modern, experimental, tasty. It was not what I was anticipating but I enjoyed it. Not too sweet, not too creamy; the different textures were interesting and there was enough acidity to balance all the flavors. Our server was attentive without rushing us and his recommendations were on point. The entire meal was a welcomed break from the craziness of Mondays. Lunch is okay but the cuisine style works so well for dinner. In contrast to my previous experiences with Finca, my partner and I highly enjoyed our meal and look forward to returning.

This place isn’t worth my time of reviewing so I’ll make it short. Sunday 10:30am. Literally 3 other tables occupied. We wait 15 minutes for a server, she takes our order. She then goes to the table with a party of 12 and begins taking their order before putting ours in. Ridiculous wait time for an empty restaurant.

My husband and I stopped in here for an amazing lunch! The atmosphere was a bit romantic with the low lighting. They had rooms off to the side with curtains so you can have a truly private meal too. The booth tables had little lamps which are nice for reading menus in low lighting. We split the couscous salad which we both enjoyed. The couscous it’s self was cooked perfectly and it had a nice light dressing with tasty cherry tomatoes and thinly slice onion. It was a nice light refreshing salad. I ordered the lamb and pork meat ball sandwich and loved it! They were some of the most tender melt in my mouth meat balls I’ve ever had. Coupled with the sauce and toasted bread made for a great sandwich. My honey got the sausage sandwich and I stole a bite of that too. The house made garlic sausages were delicious and the mustard was amazing! I only get mustard like when a friend makes me home made stuff. We ended the meal with the churros! These were great I happen to absolutely love churros and I was pretty excited about these. They were nice and airy and softly crunchy dusted in sugar and cinnamon. They came with two dips I liked the caramel one but the chocolate had some kind of fruit flavor that was mixed in that I did not care for. Great overall experience and we will be going again.

I really like the food here. Nearly everything is top notch. I really like the churros and drinks. I also like having a place that serves tasty tapas small plates for more variety. However, I find that the prices are a bit scattered, and the service can definitely be hit and miss. It has the potential to be great, and could benefit from more consistency. I’m not sure how I feel about the seating arrangement still, as I like that it isn’t any problem to get a table, but results in feeling crammed in and lacks the feeling of privacy I usually want at a fancier restaurant. Overall, it can be a great date night spot, or a mediocre one depending on the evening, but remains one of my favorite brunch locales.

Look Finca, you can do better than this. As I walked in, I was impressed with the classy interior but things went downhill from there. We did the Dine O Round deal as part of farewell dinner for a dear friend, so we wanted the night to be memorable. And memorable it was, just not in a right way. First, the appetizer was little. Seriously, it was like having one cracker with a tiny fish on top. It was like a half-heart attempt to provide appetizer. Still, I was hopeful. The subsequent tapas were not much better. The Toasta Setas was pretty good with tasty mushroom on top. But the Grilled Octopus was mainly potato and olives with few pieces of baby octopus. I repeat. Baby octopus, which I think is a bit misleading. My main impression was it tasted like breakfast potatoes. The Croquetas was delicious but I could not find the smoked Mary’s chicken. I figured it must be part of that gooey thing inside the breadcrumbs sticks, which looked a lot like cheap fish sticks. My point is, I don’t see how all these costs 30 dollars. Definitely not because of the service, which is actually my main issue for the night. The server apparently did not know who order what. Because of this, some orders were missed and when we wanted to ask about it, the server went MIA. When we finally got her attention, instead of trying to fix the issue, she lamented on how the missing order could have been taken by someone else on our table. I mean, I know we are in a large group of about 10 people, but there is a reason why we pay 20% gratuity. Earn your tip, not doing your job half-hearted because the tips are already guaranteed. The final nail on the coffin was when she delivered our final Dine O Round desserts. It was churro, which hardly got me excited but still, dessert is a dessert. On our table, not all of us did the Dine O Round. Maybe like 8 out of 10. Still, the churros were put on one big plate in the center of the table and she expected all the Dine O round diners to help ourselves and left the non-Dine O Round people to just look despite food shoved to their faces. I mean, this is a fancy restaurant, not a fast food outlet. The whole experience made me think about life. On how superficial it is. How elegant flashy outlook does not guarantee good inner substance. In that way, Finca gave me a good lesson. Probably.

Came here with a bunch of friends to experience dine-o-round. Parking here was a bit hard esp because there is no private parking lot. It is all street parking, or public parking areas. The hostess was very nice and they sat us down pretty quickly esp because we had a reservation. The food here is either a hit or miss depending on what you get for tapas. The dineoround experience was great. I don’t quiet remember the name but I will deceive what I ordered(embarrassing). I got the grilled octopus(kinda on the salty side and you get more potatoes than octopus), fried chicken cheese sticks(very yummy), pepper stuffed pork(very good), and churro with chocolate sauce(the chocolate sauce looks like milk chocolate but taste like dark). They also start you off with a price of bread with anchovies on top(looks weird but taste ok). Now the reason why I gave this place two stars was because of the service. The food didn’t only took forever to come out but the waitress that we had was rude. Her name was Rachel. I was missing a dish and the food runner apparently knew who got what because he handed the food with confidence yet Rachel still said that there is a possibility that someone took it on our table. Everyone who have gotten food got what they ordered except for three people. Our waitress would disappears for 20 – 30 mins and would just pop up when we finally see her and wave her down for a water refill or something. I felt like she had an attitude towards us whenever we would ask her a question about our food. If I every have a choice for tapas fincas won’t be the first choice I would want. I would totally rather go to medetrina. Food there is good and the service is way better.

Was in SLC for work, so came here with friends from work. The décor was interesting, i liked the rustic look but the paintings on the wall were strange… The 6 of us ordered half of the menu! I really wanted to like this place, but i really was not impressed. The beet salad, octopus, lamb & pork meatballs(the bread was what made this dish better), potatoes(how do you mess up on potatoes anyway), and pork ribs were good. However, calamari, scallops, and pork shoulders(which i really wanted to love) were disappointing. I did not care for them at all! Would most likely not return…
