Kneader’s is probably my favorite Utah-based chain. I’ve never been unsatisfied with the food I’ve had here. Whether it’s the citrus chicken salad, the cranberry turkey panini, French toast, or a cannoli, I always leave satisfied. Back east, I loved Panera Bread, and while some say that Zupa’s or Paradise Bakery are closest, I think Kneader’s is, which is definitely a good thing. The workers here are friendly, but often times they do not seem to know how to answer questions that I feel should be basic, or at least easy to make up an answer for.

I had high hopes for Kneaders. Let’s start off with the positive– the gift items, baskets, décor. Super cute. Great place to run in and get a hostess gift with a baked item. Downside– the food. Just ordinary. I wasn’t too hungry but wanted to check this institution out. I ordered the broccoli cheddar soup and it tasted like processed cheese. Like a velvetta type of soup. And it was served in a to go paper cup. I was dining in. No melamine or plastic ware to make it more homey like the décor? So i moved on to dessert instead. A chocolate cream pic & a M& M cookie. The slice of pie seemed a old as top layer– cream had separated from the chocolate pudding layer. And the crust was undercooked. The M& M cookie was just flat and no life to it.

8:40pm. Went in for some soup. They were all out of soup. How does Kneaders run out of soup. Get a clue.

Stopped as we were strolling through the mall for an after dinner dessert. I got the cream cheese brownie; husband opted for the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie. We both very much enjoyed our treats! Very cute house décor displayed at entrance.

Oh how I love the desserts at Kneaders. My problem is which dessert to choose. There were seven of us and we all got something different. I love the fruit tarts, sugar cookies, caramel apples, fresh fruit and brownies. It was nice to walk through City Creek and then stop for a treat and ice cold water. A wonderful break.

I came to kneaders to buy some pastries. I bought a tart, éclair, and a carrot cake for my friends birthday. They were all delicious but to me, the carrot cake was the best. i haven’t tried anything other than their pastries, but their other items did look delicious. I do need to come back here to eat a real meal rather than get delicious desserts.

Not bad at all, for a mall restaurant(it’s on the top level of the City Creek Mall just opposite the Joseph Smith Memorial Building — VERY convenient). The ordering system is very cafeteria-ish but it is efficient and keeps crowds moving, so even though the line is long at lunch and breakfast(it is) it moves fast. Don’t be daunted. There are some amazing salads, Orange Citrus in particular, which is what I order, and I have eaten here with enough people to have been around just about every dish that has come out of their kitchen and I have never heard a complaint. A lot of my colleagues are hooked on the Turkey Bacon Avocado on Focaccia so if I were a meat eater, that’s where I would go. I was also with a good friend who ordered the Chunky Cinnamon French Toast and couldn’t stop talking about how amazing it was as he ate. The steel cut Irish Oatmeal is a regular item for me in the mornings and I top it with sliced bananas(they’ll put anything on it that you want). Parmesan Chips come with just about everything and they are very good(I get them with everything I order except for breakfast). There is limited outdoor seating at the mall location and a very equivalent dining experience at the airport location(there are about twenty locations in Utah all total). I like this place. I use it regularly and so do a lot of other business people based on the number of business suits I always see, so stop thinking about it and go there and eat!

I really like this place. I get the TBA every time and never regret it. The bread is really good and the meat is never dry

We were very disappointed. We came here seeking a light supper, and had heard that the breads were very good. Three of us ordered the chicken soup. It was served in paper bowls and was barely luke warm and contained very little chicken. There must have been some sort of thickener added because the consistency was gummy thick. I also ordered the turkey, avocado, bacon salad. They were out of bacon, so substituted sunflower seeds. There was plenty of turkey, but the salad was served in a clear plastic take-away clamshell, which, when opened, left no room on the table for the paper bowl of soup. It came with a slice of bread, which was okay. But all of our meals, and there were six of us, were served in these plastic take-out containers, even though we specified we were eating in. The extraordinary waste! I was appalled. I will not eat here again.

It’s really not all its hyped up to be. The focaccia bread is very dry and crumbly. The cheesecake is very dense and tastes almost like frosting. The filling in the cannoli tastes just like dense frosting. The triple double is pretty good, but not for the price. Honestly, for the same price I could get a much better dinner at Toasters or Cheesecake Factory. The brownies are good.

2.5 Middle of the road in many respects. On the few occasions when I have had a sandwich or French toast I was underwhelmed and some of the baked goods are of supermarket quality. However, the cinnamon buns are decent(though hardly in the class of Tulie’s morning buns or Les Madeleines kouing aman or the croissants down the street at Eva’s Bakery) This is the best bet for a quick snack in the east part of City Creek Center. Staff are hospitable and room is well kept, has good natural light and all the 50s 60s pop music you could wish for.

I love Kneaders, and this location didn’t disappoint. Easy access in the beautiful City Creek mall, and not too pricey for a prime downtown spot. The sandwiches are great — I got a panini this time and loved it. The Parmesan Chips have a great flavor, though mine were a bit soggy. You really can’t go wrong with any of the desserts. Pies and cookies and brownies and pastries … my sweet tooth is in heaven here! I just wish they had that ultimate-cookie-brownie-bar-thing all year round.

Great place to get Breakfast or Lunch. I had the Turkey Avocado sandwich on Wheat, and a bowl of the Kickin’ Chicken Enchilada soup. Amazing. Bread was tender and light. The flavors of the Turkey, Avocado and the honey-mustard sauce were delightful. The soup was amazing. Just a little kick of spice, and very delightful.

Say what you will about the center of the Mormon world, this bakery/delicatessen/restaurant is located in what has to be the cleanest shopping mall in existence. And with the parking garage charging something like $ 1 per hour, it seems as if the city has the right idea in terms of attracting people to the center. Yes, I know there’s more to the equation. We were hungry, but not that hungry. Never in the mood for McDonalds, but also not feeling formal enough for a cloth napkin restaurant, we came across Kneeders, another chain I hadn’t heard of prior to our road trip. I’m happy to report that Kneeders passed its test — while it was very busy, they were very efficient, very tasty, didn’t cost an arm and a leg, and yes, very clean. Our walk to visit the touristy Temple Square would not be interrupted by frequent trips to the restroom or the urge to take a deep nap, which pastrami sandwiches have done to me on occasion.
