This place has gotten better over the years. It’s not on par with its big brothers, but they serve tasty fast food at a good value. Their daily specials rock. I used to eat their mango enchilada whenever possible. Service is friendlier and faster than in years past. It’s one of the better offerings of the food court.

I’ve been coming here for a while now and have recommend this place to a lot of people now. I lowered my rating today because they now charge 25 cents for water. You could say that I’m cheap and that it’s just 25 cents, but It’s 2016, and not many places charge for water. I could understand if I wasn’t eating there, but I’m a customer. Most people don’t carry around quarters. Most people ask for water when they pick up their food, after they have used their charge cards. Business 101 Taste of the Red Iguana.

Tried the Friday special(or maybe just the special of the day), green chile plate. It came with green chile and pork, 3 tortillas, rice, beans, chips and salsa. What a deal for $ 5.85. The green chile was really good and flavorful. The salsa had the perfect blend of spice. Chips were delicious too. Really good for mall food court food. And they were fast and very friendly too.

I wasn’t expecting much from a food court restaurant but I was really surprised. The food came out very quick. I had the Chile Relleno Burrito and it was delicious. It was smothered in salsa verde that had chunks of pork in it and topped with melted cheese. The rice and beans were very good also. Tortilla chips and salsa were included also. With a large drink, it still came in under $ 10. Next time I am in Salt Lake City I am going to hit up the original restaurant.

Enjoyed my breakfast burrito. Huge portions. You shouldn’t be hungry after one of these suckers… If you are you should be worried about your wellbeing and waist line… Unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the breakfast burrito I had and it’s not listed on the Unilocal menu. It doesn’t have eggs or meat but does have a pork something sauce. Pretty tasty — nice staff. I’m not a coffee connoisseur but it was decent and got the job done. I also think Starbucks sucks. So that should help you gauge the coffee.

I had some chicken tacos with the plate and I must say I wasn’t a huge fan of the tacos but the beans and rice had to be the best I’ve ever had in my life. That’s saying a lot being from So Cal. Also the customer service is great! We went there on a busy weekend and I was very impressed.

I know, I know. «Don’t compare this to the real Red Iguana» but I just can’t help it! The first time I came here I was so disappointed. I never thought I’d come again. Fast forward to a year or two later and I was craving tacos so I decided to try it again. Chicken Tacos were pretty good — I’d get them again! Chips and salsa… Mehhhhh. Beans? No. Gross. Rice? Sooo bland — but some salsa added to it gave it enough flavor. With that being said, I ate every bite of my meal. So it really couldn’t have been THAT bad, right?! Here’s the thing, I think this place has potential. I think they have a lot of yummy items on their menu. However, they also have a lot of duds. And I hate ordering duds.

The full order of Killer Nachos will feed two hefty men quite easily, and should provide leftovers for even the most devout binge-eating sumo wrestler. As a proud member of the«clean plate club,» I was a little disappointed that I ran out of steam about halfway through, but the extra push to the finish line might well have killed me, so it’s probably for the best. The chips are thick and substantial, well-equipped to deal with the roughly 8lbs. of toppings. There be guac, gigantic nuggets of chorizo, beany stuff, red saucy stuff, green stuff, and some other stuff too. What came on these Nachos? I honestly don’t know but it was GOOD. The balance of wet/dry was damn near perfect, bordering on too wet, but getting busy with a fork isn’t always a bad thing in Nacho World. The only downside is the heartburn potential. I suffer a bout of heartburn maybe once or twice a year, and I definitely had some pain coming out of this throwdown. I’d advise caution, or better yet, split these nachos among friends.

I’m not a Red Iguana mExpert, but we went to one of their restaurant locations the other night(yum) and this does indeed seem to be basically the same. Which means you’re getting incredible Mexican food… As fast food in a food court. Huge win. Olé’!

4 stars for good food but dry meat, flavor makes a full 4 stars. I’ve had it all, breakfast burritos, tacos etc. The killer Natchos tho are just that, 11.00 for 2 people cuz I couldn’t finish it. Great place for good Mexican food. Yeeeeaaaahhhh Buddddddyy

This is a great food court destination. The portion was huge and came with chips and salsa(which is a really nice touch for a food court spot). I had a chicken taco and a beef enchilada. The meat in both was well seasoned and filled the tortilla. The rice(I didn’t get beans) was also good. If you’ve eaten a lot of Mexican food, you know that the rice can be hit or miss. I was pleased that this rice was a hit. The service was really fast. I had my food within five minutes of ordering. I’ve only been to the normal restaurant once, so I can’t compare them, but this is stand out among food court options.

This place was absolutely delicious! My Mom & I really enjoyed eating dinner here while at the City Creek Center! The menu was simple, easy to read, and the food was really reasonably priced. The portions are huge! Our meals came out quickly, and we were able to enjoy them comfortably in the food court seating area. Skip the long waits at the free standing restaurants and go here!

If you love Mexican than you will love The Red Iguana. Even though they do not have the full menu you can’t beat it. The mole is out of this world! I gave them 5 enchiladas…

Warning, only one type of Mole here. Don’t expect the Red Iguana, expect a Taste of Red Iguana. It’s still really good food, especially for a food court atmosphere but don’t judge the main Red Iguana off of the samplings you get here. Red Iguana has so much more to offer so don’t write them off if you didn’t like the taste here. We love both so we’ll continue to eat at both. Yum.

Got the tacos de ramon on recommendation from the cashier and also ordered a whole order of nachos(large enough to be shared with 2 people). I’ve been to the original red iguana and was super impressed with this restaurant. Both menu items we got were delicious! No complaints here.

I ordered the chicken Chile verdre special they have on friday, which came with rice and beans and chips. The food was was pretty good considering that this place is in the food court at the mall, amd for just under $ 6 i think thats a pretty good deal. obviously it’s not at the level of the real red iguana but if you need a Mexican fix and you’re at the city creek mall I would check this place out.

While the food court version of the popular restaurant doesn’t come close to its older siblings, this is a great alternative to the other offerings(Sbarro, assembly-line Asian). The daily special today was a creamy chicken enchilada verde with rice and beans, and chips and salsa for $ 5.95 — a total steal compared to the other offerings around(and they don’t con you into getting a «free beverage» with your combo that costs them $ 0.05 but you $ 2.) The enchilada sauce — a creamy tomatillo — was nothing spectacular compared to Red Iguana’s to-die-for mole dishes, but it was flavorful, filling and had a generous helping of chicken. The rice and beans were the shining star(always my gauge for good Mexican) — perfect flavors, cooked well and with salty cotija cheese on the beans. Loved that there were no sub-par elements typical in cheap Mexican(like crunchy rice or bland beans). I could’ve eaten just rice and beans and been content. The chips were tasteless but at least crunchy — however, the salsa was also killer. Tons of flavor and heat. Loved it. Would definitely recommend if you’re at city creek and need a quick bite. Service is fast and efficient and it’s an elevated option for food court fare.

I liked the shredded chicken in the chicken tacos I ordered… I also liked the rice and refried beans served with the meal. I did not like their chips and salsa much and/or the lack of tomatoes with the dish. I have no idea if no tomatoes with tacos is traditional… but I like me some tomatoes.

I only went here because the wait for the normal Red Iguana restaurant was out of control – it was about 2 hours long.(I guess that’s the only decent restaurant in SLC.) So, I decided to give their«Taste of…» restaurant a shot. The food sucked. I tried quite a bit and I felt bad throwing it away. It was no better than run of the mill mall food. I definitely would have been happier with Chick-fil-a(which is also in the same food court) than this place.

This is my default choice when my coworkers want to go to the mall food court for lunch. It’s easily the best option there unless you’re specifically craving something else. The menu is limited but they have a great selection of daily specials and meal combos. I love that their combos come in a variety of sizes from $ 10 for 3 items down to $ 5 for 1 item, all with rice, beans, chips, salsa and a drink. Go on Tuesday because their daily special is the enchilada amarilla and it’s AMAZING. Pulled pork with a spicy, creamy mole that melts in your mouth. They also have the best salsa around. The service is quick and everything come out piping hot. They also serve breakfast during the week. I haven’t had it yet but I really want to try it. It all sounds so amazing. I’ve never had anything at any of the Red Iguana restaurants that I didn’t like.
