I absolutely love this place. Been here twice while visiting and both times I’ve been really happy with my hair. I’ve been coloring my hair for 2 years now and it was pretty damaged when I came in but after he colored and cut it my hair actually looks healthier now. I’m that kind of girl that. 1. Can’t sit still, 2. super lazy to curl or straighten my hair afterwards and 3. Super picky. Tuan was so awesome. He’s super fast at coloring and he did such a great job. He made me look like I was 21 all over again even though I’m only 26. ;) haha I don’t even have to do anything to it and it still looks nice. Oh and everyone there is super nice too. Which is always a plus. Thank you H2O Salon for my hair. I love it!!!

It’s a nice place. Full service. But honestly I paid $ 40 for a haircut that is uneven and has holes in my hair. Not at all happy with it. Actually disappointed. I didn’t want to go to a great clips or a super cut and went for a nicer place and honestly I think they would have done better than my $ 40 haircut that I am not happy with. Completely uneven and the layers are awful. So that is why I gave two stars. ***So after calling them to let them know what happened they scheduled me with another girl and she saw the way my hair was cut as did another stylist. She took her time and fixed what she was able to and cleaned it up. Even though my hair is now way shorter it looks really good. I left feeling good about my hair. Because of her I raised my stars to 4. They didn’t charge me to correct the cut from the first stylist.

I had purple hair and went in trying to dye my hair back to blond. So I go in and she gives me a balayage and doesn’t say anything about the way my hair color is processing. Then she washes my hair and says it is lime green and breaking off! There was not a way to fix my hair because it was treated so badly here. The manager had to cut 9 inches of my hair off and it is still green

A hot mess! I came in for a mani and pedi, I was pleased to find out they could take me and do both at the same time. The very kind manicurist did a okay job with the trimming and filing but a wonderful job painting my nails. She was kind and friendly. She almost seemed annoyed with the man doing my pedicure. Who was obviously having a bad day and is not qualified to paint toes. After a very short massage and inadequate cleaning he began to paint. And here is where the the story gets worse… His hands were shaking so much that there was paint all over my toes and as he tried to clean up the paint he got cotton on my toes and polish. It was very messy and sloppy. He completely forgot to paint my pinky toe! After telling him I didn’t think it looked great he took it all off and tried again … With the same crappy results. I finally had to ask the manager to come redo the paint. Which is the only reason they got 2 stars instead of 1. She fixed the paint and apologized. Overall… Stressful… When it was supposed too be relaxing.

This place is ok/average. There isn’t anything spectacular about it. Their customer service is almost average. The cleanliness of the salon is ok/average as well. Their stylists have been average too. It makes me wonder why they charge so much. Would love to see a wow factor.

I really had an amazing experience at this little salon that’s tucked away at The Gateway. I never even noticed it was there before, but I’m glad I saw a post on Facebook saying that they wanted hair models to come do a free cut. I was skeptical by having my hair cut for free, but I figured it’s hair and it can grow back, and the reviews I read were mostly good. When I got there, the receptionist insistent asked if I’d like a water or Coke product while I waited. Shortly after, Araceli came and took me to her booth. She asked what I wanted and if I had pictures to give her a good idea. She was very confident as she took me to wash my hair. I expected a free cut to be rushed through, but Araceli really rubbed down my scalp and got me all cleaned up. When she took me back to the booth, she seemed very confident and we talked a lot while she cut. I liked that she didn’t feel the need to look good for me and not ask for help or from opinions from others who were cutting hair. It’s nice that she wanted others’ input through the process. I really loved how my hair turned out, and I plan on having Araceli fix my highlights in a couple weeks before going on vacation. This is definitely a hidden gem at the forgotten Gateway Mall.

I came here after my mom and I both having good experiences with their haircuts. So I was confident that a simple highlight would be no problem but when I came in to get my hair done it took 3 ½ hours with my hair still soaking wet and no haircut. I had to go to work and didn’t realize that it would take that long because it never has before. I get it – my hair is really long. But 3 ½ hours? So that was the first ding. Then when it dried on its own I discovered many problems with the color. He toned it which lifted my base color which i really wasn’t expecting. There was a huge random chunk of blonde right by my face, and the highlights started ¾ of an inch from my scalp. I even kept telling him to get it closer to the root during the process. So I called to get it fixed the next day. So I go in the next day and got it fixed, but I am way more blonde than I wanted to be because he had to blend it in from the random chunk. The second day took forever as well. It took 2 ½ hours to highlight maybe 16 papers worth, and to cut and style. Way too long! A part of that time was him going to the chocolate factory with his co-workers WHILE I HADBLEACHINMYHAIR. I know it stops processing but really? He was nice and all, but both times I had to ask for a drink and I felt needy and annoying but I was sitting there for forever! I won’t return to this place to get my hair colored unless i book a SENIORSTYLIST. It was not worth 7HOURS total of my time and $ 170 including tip.

My whole family has been going to Studio H20 for years and we love it! Thida has always done a great job of listening to what I want and being really careful to make sure that my hair turns out super natural looking and beautiful! I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a new salon!

I gave this place another shot. I went to the one in fashion place. Paid 180 $ before my tip… To get some funky up hair. Oh and this 180 was just for the crown/touch up. It’s so embarrassing going in and saying to your stylist you messed up fix it. I feel like a nag. This is the only salon 2x in a row I’ve had to do this, and this time it was different stylist. See the photos I post they speak for themselves really. Money in the garbage and now I need to go to another salon and get it done right with no patchy color spots. All this patchy crap. I would have been better off going to cameo college let the students practice on my hair, pay a fraction of the price and get better freaking results. I hate patchy color work. Ugh. I will not back to any of the H2o salons. ******** Update: The owner reached out after reading my grouchy and venting review. He was very kind, and offered many ways to make it right while ensuring Its not being a nag to go back and ask them to fix mistakes, and that mistakes happen every now and then. That takes a lot of maturity and a good person to do that. I really appreciate his message and offer to fix my hair or basically refund me I had already fixed it. I have changed my star score to reflect the awesome management, and their willingness to make things right if they go wrong.

I saw senior stylist Shanna who did a great job with my hair. I’m almost hesitant to write this review because I’m Afraid I’ll never get an appointment with her again :) she was super patient and sweet and unlike many stylists, she LISTENED to what I wanted so that we were on the same page and she executed it brilliantly. She took a disaster that was on my head when I entered having come from SALON O in downtown salt lake and turned it into a lovely piece of art. She stayed until the job was done and made sure it was done to perfection. I couldn’t even believe my luck. I will most certainly see her in the future and in some ways Im grateful to salon o for giving me two botched jobs in a row just so I could find someone I can regularly go to in the future. u

I was recommended to try this place out for a guys hair cut. The lady didn’t understand what I told her. She basically gave me crappy hair cut. After I told her to not cut that much she said she knew better then I did for my hair!!! Worst place ever and 50 dollars for a bad men’s cut!

Im here just like I was on facebook to review this fantastic place. and I’m giving it five stars only cause I can’t give it six. I went in yesterday with a super messed up ombré done by a beauty school student. Thida put in weaved in highlights and toned my entire head, and I was skeptical that that little change would do much, but it definitely did it for me! She also touched up my roots because they had been previously been done in an awful reddish brown color… And she gave me a fantastic trim and style and ALSO educated me on my hair big time. I also got a nice mani and a wax by a really awesome girl, I definitely can’t say enough good things about this place after having been salon-hopping since I moved to Salt Lake, and this visit has been worth every penny.

I booked my nail appointment the day before with Hang Le, who was able to accommodate my schedule(online booking was very helpful). I did a mani-pedi, and she was very courteous and did an excellent job on my nails. The mani-pedi was relaxing and priced fairly for the quality of work($ 48), though the salon was a little loud and we finished 15 minutes later than expected.

Just a tip to anyone wanting complete professional service. Ask for a Senior Stylist because everyone below that level are truly in training. Nothing personal towards the stylist in training, cause their all nice and friendly. But If u want to leave completely happy or satisfied with the hair services make sure to book an SENIOR stylist.

At first I was a little put off when i realized this salon was in a mall, but I am very glad I gave it a chance. Hands down, I got the best hair cut of my life there. Anytime you are prepared to lose seven inches of hair, you undoubtedly put a lot of trust in someone. My stylist, Krista R., styled it to perfection afterwards. I have been getting an endless stream of compliments on the cut since I got it. If you are ever in SLC and need a new look, this is the place!

The salon was clean and provided beverages and played relaxing musing. Had a ton of gel colors and non too. id go back if i was in town not 5 because didnt use brand new tools, but looked like they were sterilized(i hope so)

As many ladies know a Brazilian wax can be painful and awkward. I’m not new to waxing and I’ve been to H2o Salon several times before. However, RACHELELENNBERG was the best esthetician I have ever had, there or anywhere else. Rachele took her time and was very meticulous and precise in making sure that every hair was gone. She applied a wet compress after each strip to reduce pain and it surprisingly made it feel much better. Rachele was easy to talk to and we had great conversation that distracted from the awkwardness. I would highly recommend getting any kind of wax, particularly a Brazilian wax, from Rachele at H2o Salon. Like I said, best experience with a Brazilian wax so far.

Went in for mani/pedi and was met with sloppy work that needed to be redone. Nail tech was not friendly and said my nails were uneven which led to her bad job… then it is your job to fix them! Would not return with so many other options.
