Wow, the owner is such a tool! The food isn’t bad, but it’s hard to sit there and listen to the way he treats his staff. Totally rude and such a jerk! The last time I was there He asked an older couple to move to a smaller table because the two of them were seated at a four-chair table! I’ve been there three times, three times too many. The staff are friendly and courteous, he could learn a few things from THEM! I won’t be giving him anymore of my money.

Are you kidding me??? Best place to go for a burger in SLC — definitely don’t forget to have the blue cheese French fries. There was only one guy manning the grill, register and taking care of customers. We let him know we wanted to go to Juniors Tavern next door for a drink and even though he was the only one there he delivered out food!!! That’s was definitely a plus for customer service. That being said — burgers are chargrilled, large and extremely tasty. They will make it any way you want it, with whatever you want on it. Just don’t forget the blue cheese fries!!!

Food was good, and we didnt have to wait long but i would appreciate if the cook wasnt handling money and everything else and then preparing my food without washing his hands or at least putting on new gloves.

4 stars because of the price. Burgers are excellent but I would expect the beef to be grass fed considering you pay $ 11 bucks for a burger.

The food was decent. I had a fairly basic burger and fries. Not sure it was worth the price tag, but I’ll admit I’m not a burger aficionado. The seating area is small and gets very smoky when they fire up the grill. It made my eyes water. We got there about 11:45 am. We were penalized for arriving before the lunch rush, as we were asked to move tables to make room for people who weren’t there yet. Under par service.

Let me be clear, I cannot say anything about the quality of the food, because I was unable to order anything. I stepped up to the counter ready to order and was not acknowledged in any way shape or form. I waited for what I thought was a sufficient amount of time and walked out. They were obviously busy, but they should have a person dedicated to the cash register/order window ready to take orders, or at a minimum be sure to acknowledge people when the walk up the counter… I was sort of excited to eat there, but they lost my business before they even had a chance to earn it.

The cook was awesome, he asked how it was about halfway through our meal. Food was delicious. Great experience overall. My dinner date got the grilled cheese burger, of which I took a sinfully delicious bite. If you can afford the calories, that’s my pic, although I will be goinig back several(ready many, many) more times to try a variety of other things. My chicken burger with the carprese treatment was really good, flavorful and well done. I loved the fries and onion rings. The fry sauce has a kick to it, so if you are a traditionalist, beware before you drench your fries. Note that it can get smokey in there with the open grill. The fan works really hard, but at the end of the meal I was pretty over it. Nex time I’ll probably sit outside. All in all, I really enjoyed it.

I ordered the Roasted Garlic burger when I came to Rich’s the other night. I walked in 15 minutes before they closed and the guy at the grill asked me if I was going to get a beef burger. When I confirmed, he slapped two pink meat patties onto the sizzling grill where flames licked up in response. I quickly realized the type of burger I wanted to eat and so I ordered. I didn’t have to wait that much longer for my order to be ready. I picked up the burger in my hands and felt the weight of it and saw the dark beef crust courtesy of the flaming grill and just knew it was going to be a good burger. I took a bite and had a flood of juices from the meat and toppings and then the all-consuming garlic in my mouth. I have never in my life had a burger that had enough garlic to not only make my breath stink of the glorious garlic scent but it also made my skin smell of garlic the next day. I didn’t think that was even possible. Rich’s doesn’t mess around. They don’t just scoop out garlic from a container and call it good. No, there were whole garlic cloves on my burger. WHOLE cloves! I’ve never tasted a «Garlic» named dish that satiated my addiction until I ate this burger the other night. I didn’t even have time to snap a photo because I was too busy eating like a rabid animal. So this is it. I finally understand. I didn’t know love until that moment. All other flings and romances with garlic dishes just cannot compare to this Garlic Burger love I have now. Oh, and I almost forgot– the onion rings were pretty good too.

We were in town for a few days and decided to try a place we hadn’t been to. The reviews we read were great and it was a short walk from our hotel. There’s nothing fancy about the place which made it appealing as somewhere to just pop into for a bite. They have some really unique burgers. I took a chance on the coleslaw burger which obviously has coleslaw as well as bacon and BBQ sauce. I added provolone and the veggies. It was phenomenal which is amazing because I’m very picky about coleslaw. The coldness of the coleslaw paired well with the warm burger and toasted bun. My wife had the Mac-n-cheese burger which is exactly what it sounds like. She loves good Mac and cheese and really enjoyed it. We also ordered their fried green beans as an appetizer and they were awesome as was the dipping sauce they came with. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone who likes burgers or gourmet burgers!

These burgers top any other burgers in salt lake hands down. I ordered a bacon buffalo blue cheese burger that was amazing and my girlfriend ordered a mac and cheese burger which she said was fantastic. The cashier was great with helping us choose our order. I also ordered a queso fries which were really good but we were so full we only ate a quarter of them. I tried to re heat them later and it was gross so try and eat everything and don’t take home leftovers.

There was really great burgers and excellent customer service. I ordered the roasted garlic burger. I was expecting a garlic flavored aioli or something. Nope. A full solid ROW of roasted garlic. There must have been 2 bulbs worth of roasted garlic on that thing. It was so good. The sweet potato fries I got were also excellent. They were battered prior to being fried so were extra crispy and delicious. The great customer service came about when I arrived like 2 minutes after my friends. Rich bumped up my order a bit in the queue so that all of us got our meals at the same time. It was a small thing, but a very far cry from what you would expect from just a local burger joint. Very good experience all around. I’m definitely going back and bringing others with me.

Went here with our dog to eat on the patio for the first time. Staff was very nice and accommodating to our pup. We ordered the Blue Wing burger and Caprese chicken sandwich and queso fries. The burger was good but it could have been a lot hotter with the hot wing sauce and too much blue cheese. The cheese to burger ratio was definitely unbalanced. The Caprese sandwich was delicious. Cooked to order chicken was tender and juicy. They were out of mozzarella so they asked if provolone would be alright. It was still really good. Fresh basil and balsamic with fresh tomatoes(not gross tomatoes). The queso fries were good, but it was more like liquid cheese on fries. It wasn’t spicy at all. I found a couple canned jalapeños but I would have preferred fresh cut jalapeños. Overall a great experience. Thank you.

The best burger I’ve ever had! Very generous portions and all of the food was excellent. We had the coleslaw burger, artichoke burger(both with green bean fries) and a side of queso fries and it was all incredibly delicious.

Very good burger, I got the Mac N Cheese burger, it was better than I expected, I went in the afternoon so I didnt experience how crazy this place can get, It was pretty expensive for what you get honestly, its the price of going to a full service restaurant, but the owner was friendly, so was the cashier.

We ran in here four mins before they closed and the guy working was so nice about it. He made our food without complaining and even offered for us to dine in while he cleaned. This was probably the best burger I’ve had in SLC and the fry sauce is really good.

Here’s my explanation for the two star review: The burger tastes great. I have no complaints about the burger. My sweet potatoes fries were burnt and they give you a super small serving. For a little burger joint you think that you’d get more food for $ 11. I believe he’s the owner or maybe the manager, but he berated one of his employees for putting mayo on a sandwich. I also heard him telling his employees to tell two customers to leave since they were just sitting at a table chatting after they finished their meal. I used to like eating here, but after this experience I won’t be back. Take care of your employees and customers!!!

Ordered the angus beef with fried egg burger. The burger is huge and the bun is unforgettable. It has this crunch to it that made the burger irresistible. I had Mac and cheese on the side which had a bit of spicy kick to it which was awesome. Quite frankly, Shake Shack doesn’t have anything on this place. Very quick, simple, and delicious!

Looking for a burger in SLC can be hard because there are so many to choose from. Rich’s is cool because they have a unique take on burgers. This place has a variety of ways to have a burger but my favorite way is the macaroni burger with a fried egg. Sounds weird but it totally rocks. However it is a messy adventure and you should be warned. If you need a burger and you are downtown check out the unique options at Rich’s

Get this: Mac n Cheese burger, with fried green beans. The sauce is the difference maker. It’s a very well seasoned mayo(I think — it doesn’t taste like regular mayo at all) with a tiny kick to it.

If I want a big, tasty, calorie filled burger I go to Rich’s. If that is what you want, then you will not be disappointed. Service is a little wonky sometimes. Inconsistent and slow. But in a quaint, small shop kind of way. But a little frustrating still. Maui Burger is great as is the slaw burger. Cheese spread is THICK, and delicious.

I was very surprised by this place. I had the Texas BBQ chicken breast sandwich and it was surprisingly good. This place has a variety of styles on the menu, and you pick the type of pattie you want. The burgers looked really good, but I wasn’t in the mood for one so I went with the chicken. I’d definitely come back here again and try a burger next time.

It was overpriced for what you get. The mac and cheese was soggy. It was pretty empty in there. Yet, the service was super slow. The quality/quantity to value ratio was off. I would prefer heading back to lucky 13 for my burger needs.

I got to say this place is on par with Lucky 13 for having some excellent burgers. On a recommendation from a friend I tried this place out with a group of fellow burger enthusiasts and we were all blown away. At first I was a little hesitant because it was one person manning both the register and the kitchen line. My hats off to him for keeping down the fort, but maybe an additional employee isn’t the worst way to go. Any lapse in efficiency was made up for with the food. I ordered the mac n cheese burger and man alive was this burger good. Perfect proportions of cheese, beef and and bacon in each bite. Crispy fries with ancho ranch paired it off very nicely as well. Not the cheapest outing for a burger but still very much worth it.

Good burger, a little on the price side for what you get but still has a great hole in the wall feel to it. I had the roasted red pepper burger, the pattie was good but a little thin, the cheese/red pepper spread wasn’t quite as melty as it probably could’ve been. Other than being served with white onions rather than red onions(as any self respecting burger place should) it was good. The onion rings were great, beer battered as they should be.

Quality high end burger made from scratch by hand right before your eyes! The Mac and cheese burger is out of this world. Enjoyed the queso fries also, be sure to start HUNGRY. Portions are generous. I’d say this is a safe bet for any«drive ins diners and dives» fans or foodies slummin’ it. Much better than chain based food closer to the convention center.

I had the Ultimate cheeseburger, and added bacon. I know, not that adventurous considering the kind of selection they’ve got. Things I thought of getting were: Slaw Burger — House slaw, bacon strips, house BBQ sauce. I was also looking at the Mac N’ Cheese –House made mac, chipotle mayo. My burger was grilled right there in front of me, and was delicious. The guy was busy, and all by himself, but still made it work. Yes, I also tried the fried green beans, pretty good dipped in their special sauce that has a bit of a kick. In the fridge, they have beer if you want to grab a cold one. Eat inside, or sit outdoors.

This is my favorite burger place in the downtown area. It’s a pretty simple spot and there’s nothing fancy about it. My experience consists of having their green chili burger, mushroom Swiss burger, Texas BBQ burger, fries and buffalo wings. Not all at once though… that would cause coronary artery disease. Space it out and keep coming back. Your taste buds will thank you.

WORSTCUSTOMERSERVICEEVER. A co-worker and I went there for later lunch, around 1 pm. The OWNER started to take my order, his cell phone rang, he answered, walked away, and didn’t even say a word to me. Let me remind you, that I was INTHEMIDDLE of my order. He didn’t bother to let another employee take over. Luckily, someone noticed that we were standing there with no help and finally finished taking our orders. The food is decent but it is not worth the price or the horrid customer service. There have been other times that the OWNER has yelled to all his employees in front of a packed restaurant. How embarrassing for his employees!

Rich’s is definitely one of my favorite burgers in SLC, and one of my favorite burgers I’ve had anywhere. For starters, the vibe of this place is so neat. It feels almost old school saloon ish to me; there is a long bar you can eat as well as standard tables, and sometimes there are some neat little leather items for sale — so random but cool. I’ve run into the owner, Rich himself a few times and he is such a nice, cool guy. He is always polite and has asked me if I have any comments on my experience while I’m sitting right there to my face. I never have had much to say besides that his place is awesome. My favorite burger is the garlic one, but every one I’ve tried is great. They are always cooked perfectly and delicious. I also ask for buffalo /hot sauce on the side for my fries and its over all just delicious. I highly highly recommend stopping by — lunch or dinner or whatever. I also hear you can bring your burgers from here into the bar next door so that’s cool for late night aprés work.

4 stars for giving me a terrible addiction. I did find that if I don’t get a side of fries I am less likely to pass out from food coma. Warning!!! The following is not healthy. The burger I get is a specialty that they are willing to make. I get a modified mac & cheese hamburger. The patty topped with cheddar & bacon. Then I have them sandwich that patty between two grilled slabs of mac & cheese. I am trying to start a movement to get this burger creation labeled. I think«The Hektik burger» has a nice ring. But the thick bacon and near perfect patty sandwiched between the extra mac & cheese takes their already good mac & cheese burger to the next level. If there is one thing bacon needs as to not feel lonely, it’s cheese and copious amounts of it in as many forms as possible. I wish I could tell you more about their food but aside from this burger which has filled most of the voids in my life the only thing that I have ordered from here has been the fried green beans. They are pretty good, I just wish the portion was larger. But maybe they’re concerned and just trying to prevent a customer from having a heart attack. As for how the shop is ran. It’s a tight ship, especially with the owner around. Routine cleanups are performed after big rushes and so forth. The wait is never too long, even during the lunch rush. The more I go there the more it’s grown on me. The staff has always been friendly and the owner has definitely staffed a lot better during peak times. The food is better when the staff isn’t overwhelmed. Another nice thing about this little hole in the wall, there is outdoor seating facing Broadway so the people watching is entertaining. Nothing beats the patio in the heart of downtown. This area being«the heart» in my opinion with all of the good eats, drink and places to be merry in such close proximity. Time to get a burger…
