Being short on time and in an unfamiliar area, I opted for this interesting looking food truck in a not so interesting looking industrial park. The menu is simple, which I like. Sliders and fries and that’s it. $ 12 for three sliders and fries, one dollar extra for a drink. Waited about 10 mins for the order, which was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Table out front had a selection of self serve condiments, including ketchup, hot sauce and napkins. Fit the bill perfectly for a quick bite in my car-I would definitely try to find these guys again!

Got deluxe and classic sliders with sea salt fries. The sliders were dry and bland, but the caramelized onions were a welcome additions, and the buns were good. The fries were beyond salty, unbearable. I shook or wiped off each fry, before I eventually gave up on them.

Cajun fries are super bomb. The pulled pork is ok but the classic is the bomb. 10 for 2 sliders and fries is not that bad. Check them out at least once!

Not the worst and not the best. A solid 2& a half stars. I DEFINITELY appreciated that they could put the burgers on lettuce for my wheat allergy & the portions were large. The burgers themselves were sadly charred, I don’t mind a well done burger, but these were black. They left off the tomatoes on both my deluxe sliders, and when I brought it to their attention they simply didn’t care nor give me any to add myself. I will say the cute gal taking the orders was adorable and friendly. The parmesan fries I wanted to devour because they look so dang good, but they were lack luster as well. It was a Meh sadly…

Who doesn’t love a good food truck? The problem is mediocre ones are extremely disappointing. We attended the food truck league at Sugarhouse commons on a Monday night and were excited for some yummy food. This truck looked intriguing with its simple black and white design and promise of farm to truck food(ironically this one stood out from all the other brightly colored food trucks that seemed to be screaming for attention). It seemed classy, and with classy I would normally expect to see that reflected in the food. We tried the classic slider, the fried chicken, and the pulled pork with some Parmesan and herb fries. All of these sandwiches were served on the same«Tuscan bun» which was a little too soft(some toasting would have made a huge difference) and too large(we had left over bun for all 3 sliders). The best was probably the fried chicken but all of them needed some boost in flavor. As far as the fries, well they were just fries with some seasonings added. Nothing to get excited about. In the end, the design of the truck and description of the food on the menu were the high points. I felt very let down. So the journey to find a really good SLC food truck continues…

The fries were okay. But the burger and fried chicken sliders were amazing! Such high quality for such a great price! Get the 2 sliders for $ 8 and skip the fries!

This was on my list of places that I wanted to try. I liked the fact that they are local, and had hormone and antibiotic free meat. That is unusual to come by. I ordered the deluxe burger slider, the fried chicken slider, and Parmesan herb fries. The onions were grilled to perfection, and it was a decent size for a slider. However I felt the beef could have been seasoned more, and it could have used some type of sauce. The fried chicken slider was better, the chicken was very moist, with a light frying on it, and the ranch was good. The fries were essentially mcdonalds fries, that could have been cooked longer, and the seasoning needed to be put on right after they got out of the fryer because the Parmesan did not stick to the fries enough. Overall I felt it was just okay. Nothing to rave about, and I most likely would pick another place to eat if given a choice.

Also tried this truck at Opening Night and it was a hit. Simple and delicious slider with good seasoning. I really enjoyed their Cajun fries, as well. I’d like to try their fried chicken slider. We tried the original and the pulled pork. Loved the original, and the pulled pork was okay, though I’d prefer slightly cooked apples, instead of the fresh as a topping. We’d absolutely eat here again. **UPDATE** I tried the Fried Chicken Sandwich, and it was AMAZING! Honestly the best I’ve had. I’m not huge on chicken sandwiches, but I could eat this baby often. Black’s has quickly become my favorite truck. Plus I was very appreciative of the guy who was willing to cook us some burgers even though the event(Monday Food Trucks at Sugarhouse) didn’t start for a couple of hours. We happened to notice them around 4HOPING they were open, and he said he would never turn away people who want to eat. And boy did we want to eat :) Traditional Slider + Fried Chicken Slider + Cajun Fries = happiness.

I normally don’t write a review for a place after one visit, but since I tried 3 different sliders I felt like I could make a good judgement. I was surprised as to the size of them, probably could have gotten away with 2 sliders and a side rather than all 3. The pulled pork was good, fried chicken excellent, and the classic burger was better than excellent. Fries were decent, but could have used a little longer in the fryer. The lady that took our orders was really nice as well and she was outside the truck which made communication a lot easier. Would definitely eat at this truck again.

Juicy burgers at generous size for sliders. Side of French fries are on point. Restaurant quality that will leave you and your wallet satisfied. Fast food should not be an option when their truck is around.

Great quality, great tasting food prepared by a great man. Aaron Black is passionate about his truck and a man of the people. When you see the Black truck around town, don’t miss it and don’t miss out on talking to Aaron for great conversation and some laughs. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but the pulled pork Soaker Slider is my favorite. Perfectly seasoned, slow roasted, soaked in a tangy bbq sauce, and finished on the flat top. Good stuff Black’s Sliders. Keep up the good work!

This is the second time I’ve used Black’s Sliders for an event at my indoor bike park, and they CRUSHED it last night! Aaron and his crew went above and beyond to make amazing food(the fried chicken and the pork are the best), and their service was great! Oh yeah, and the Cajun fries. If you’re debating about hiring a food truck, hire these guys! You won’t be disappointed!

A place I want to like, run by people who I want to like. A confluence of circumstances resulted in a bad experience, and I think I have to share it. I was at Food Truck Thursday at the Gallivan Center a few weeks ago, persuing my mobile dining options. While in front of Black’s, a guy approached me, explaining the sourcing of the ingredients and how tasty everything was. I was kind of taken aback as I learned this was the truck’s proprietor. You don’t often expect a truck operator to be outside of the truck, and though I felt a little assaulted(the guy didn’t say hello or smile, just went into his pitch), and because they were offering free drinks with combos, I decided to give them a try. The owner touted the fried chicken as the best, so I got it, along with a regular beef slider, and«cajun» fries. And then I waited, and waited, and waited. Eventually, I got up from my stoop I’d found for myself, and the out-of-truck proprietor asked me my name. It seems that his chef had lost my order. He put my order at the front AND comped my meal. Very classy, and I appreciated it. My order came out reasonably quickly, with what you see in the pic. The«cajun» fries were just regular fries with cajun seasoning. Fine, but common. While the bun and toppings on my «deluxe» burger were fresh and tasty, the burger itself was seriously short on meat. For the«regular» prices, I was expecting a little more beef, and it certainly got lost in the toppings. I took a couple of bites of the chicken, thinking«hmm, this is much meatier than normal… I wonder what they did to it.» Then I looked down. The middle of the chicken was a deep pink color. In their rush to get me my order, they left my chicken slider completely undercooked. Having waited already nearly a half an hour, and already getting my meal comped, I couldn’t bring myself to complain once again. I’m sure my experience was the exception that proves what looks to be a rule of really quality food, and I appreciate that the owner was trying really hard to make everything right. And I would be willing to try them again. But next time, I’ll look at my chicken before I take a bite.

Tried Black’s Sliders last night at the West Valley Food Truck Roundup. I was pulled in with the promise of hormone and antibiotic free locally sourced food. And I was pleased with the results. I got the 3 Slider Plate w/Side. They have a couple really delicious sounding beef sliders but I wanted to try something different. So I went with the Southern Fried Chicken, Soaker(Pulled Pork), and Vegetarian Slider. For my side I got the Parmesan & Herb fries. I will start with the Vegetarian as it was my least favorite. Don’t get me wrong! It was good but it came with thin slices of yellow squash and zucchini. I wish it had some other veggies on it. Like some mushrooms or bell peppers. Or even some fresh lettuce to add some texture as it was kind of one note. But the balsamic reduction was a really nice touch and added some sweetness which the slider really needed. The Soaker was a pulled pork slider that was really satisfying. It comes with a really refreshing slaw which is a MUST when you are having a rich pulled pork. Get some extra BBQ sauce for it if you are like me and love really juicy pulled pork. Mind you, the pork is delicious on it’s own so it doesn’t need the sauce for flavor. But the star was the Southern Fried chicken slider! I could have eaten a dozen of them! The chicken was fried to perfection! I think it is hard to achieve the ideal crispy outside while keeping the inside moist but the chef does it like no other. And the flavor was exactly like you imagine exceptional fried chicken should be. It comes with some lettuce and a really creamy ranch sauce that I think they also made. You must try one of these sliders! Or even better– have a few! The Parmesan & Herb fries were really delicious. They don’t skimp on the cheese and the herbs are present without being overwhelming. They are crispy which is how I like my fries. If I hadn’t loved that damn chicken sandwich so much, I would be ranting about the fries. The guys who run this truck are clearly passionate about delicious food while still be responsible too. Make sure to ask questions as they would love to tell you all about themselves and their truck. You will walk away feeling just as enthused as they are. I am so happy they were at the West Valley Roundup and they can be sure that should they come again, I will be back for more chicken sliders!

AMAZING!!! I just had my first experience with this food truck and I cannot recommend it enough. The fried chicken slider is one of the best things I have ever tasted. I love the farm to truck idea and I am all about eating hormone and antibiotic free food. Great job guys, you have yourself a loyal customer.
