Ugh, what a disappointing evening of overpriced food and really average/straight up bad cocktails. We decided to sit at the bar and enjoy the lovely atmosphere and music while being able to glimpse into the kitchen, chefs in their whites, wood burning oven roaring. This was where the allure and Parisian nostalgia ended for us. I have dined in my fair share of Paris bistro’s so I had put off dining here, not wanting to ruin the memories and tastes of past trips overseas. Alas, this was the night a friend who had wanted to dine here made the call. We order the sazerac and old fashioned to begin. The old fashioned was unpalatable, initially made with lemon as the bartender told us this is how the owner wants it done. He was kind enough to make another his way and it was«better» but still by no means a proper OF. The sazerac lacked punch and was very ho hum. Our friend ordered a glass of champagne, the wise choice. Moving on, we were served bread, thankfully, as our meals took an obscenely amount of time to arrive. We dined on the steak salad, chicken and beef stroganoff. After close to 45 minutes, our meals arrived. My $ 20 flank steak salad was drenched in a heavy, cheesy, greasy coating. The description was a pancetta vinaigrette. The muddy greens on my plate were doused in this over bearing«dressing» that seemed to have the blue cheese folded in. It was a shame to pay for flank steak(which was just fine), and an array of greens that were essentially ruined by the heavy handed sauce. The beef stroganoff was also quite heavy. Listen, I know French food uses butter and cream, hence the reason it’s so wonderful. But this was lacking something to cut the heaviness and again, seemed muddied. The meat was very tough and many pieces difficult to break down. The best dish was the chicken. Far and away the most flavor. It had the simplistic approach that we really appreciated. I will reiterate, the prices are frustrating. I will pay anything to have a wonderful meal, but this left me feeling angry at dropping hard earned money on overpriced, poorly prepared food. Flank steak is cheap! Needless to say, I will not be returning. It’s such a shame as I do love the neighborhood and the restaurant is so charming. I am certain the lease is terribly pricey in the area, but at least provide food that is up to par and I would be happy to help you make rent!

I am not one that usually hands out a 5 star rating but I had a 5 star experience! Beautiful ambiance, excellent food(We had the beef stroganoff, beet soup and fois gras). The stroganoff was amazing. The sauce had amazing flavor and the homemade noodles were delicious. The fois gras was tasty. The service was well trained and very friendly and efficient. We had an amazing dinner in a beautiful restaurant in a reasonable amount of time. I highly recommend making reservations on the weekends. It was very busy.

We ate here for Valentine’s Day. The atmosphere was pretty romantic, and the service was excellent. But the meal was slow(1 appetizer + 2 entrees, meal took longer than 2 hours). And the duck breast was chewier than calamari(how do you prepare foul to be chewy? I have no idea). And the lamb chops were served cold and nearly raw — after being sent back, they came back hot but were still too rare for my wife to eat. She specifically asked for medium-well and after being cooked twice, they were medium-rare at best. Their $ 14 glass of wine tasted about as good as Franzia from a box — terrible. I wanted to try some dessert, but after sitting for 2 hours with ~ 20 minutes of that spent consuming food, we had no patience left and went elsewhere for dessert.

Stars are for service and tortellini otherwise a zero. Not trying to be a hater but hadn’t been to this quaint little neighborhood gem for over ten years and now I know why. Food was anything but awesome could have gone to chili’s for same quality for 15% cost. Honestly the molten chocolate cake from Domino’s is better than the rubbery junk they tried to serve. I love to spend money on good food but honestly felt like a punch to pay what we did for what we got. Too bad.

It’s always a great experience when I go here the food is great. A little pricey but it’s worth it on occasion. The only thing that personally bothered me was service.

I love Paris Bistro. Yes, service can be a bit slow so don’t go here if you want to rush through your meal. Good food is to be enjoyed with friends and wine. This place delivers. Fantastic neighborhood restaurant with charming interior, al fresco seating(in season), and awesome wine list. I’ve been several times and each visit is consistently high quality on all fronts. Luck to have a great French restaurant like this in our area.

The Paris Bistro, located in a residential area of Salt Lake City, brings a bit of ersatz France to the Beehive State. The space is divided in two, with a small zinc bar, it could be larger, anchoring a more casual area, and white linen the theme in the more elegant area. Servers are adorned in the quintessential black with white apron uniform of the Parisian garçon. Incongruously, Frank Sinatra crooned through the speakers, and I longed for a Edith Piaf or Charles Aznavour soundtrack. The ambiance of this Paris Bistro was close, but still leaned towards the artificial side of authentic. The lighting was kept atmospherically dim, adding to the inauthenticity of the design. The servers, young and ernest, have been trained well. I noticed them teaming up to serve a large group, allowing them time to give the proper attention to the 2 top and 4 top tables scattered throughout. Bravo for the professionalism. The menu was brasserie large, which frightened me. Small menus usually mean attention to detail, but I must admit the Paris Bistro was on point. Both our salads were delicious with my «Paris Salade» just being too sweet for my palate. The flatbreads had just the correct amount of crispness. We both ordered the Stroganoff, and while the Paris Bistro’s version swerved from the classic, the hanger steak and noodles were cooked correctly and the sauce savory. Desserts were scrumptious and very Francais. The Bistro’s wine list had an eclectic array of old and new world choices. I enjoyed the European selections, missing from many Salt Lake wine lists. While we contemplate a possible move to SLC and envision a life here, I can see us being regulars at the Paris Bistro. The prices are«big city» reasonable by the way.

I been here a few times, I think it is a bit over priced. Service is great and the décor is wonderful the music seems to fit the place. I would give 3.5 stars can not do half stars.

A quiet fall evening on this neighborhood patio was the perfect setting for phenomenal food. I absolutely loved the special; a halibut dish in robust tomato purée with loads of surprising garden vegetables. My friend loved the duck breast with root vegetables and micro greens. Creamy wild mushrooms on toast were a decadent appetizer. We finished our meal with the fabulous crêpes with candied citrus peel garnish. Our server was the only low point. We ordered two glasses of Bordeaux wine upon which he tried to upsell us for«a better value» to a full bottle — something one might expect at Macaroni Grill, but not at this upscale establishment. He also had a bad habit of approaching the table talking too loud from about 5 steps too far away, most times boldly interrupting our conversation mid-sentence. Overall, I’d go again in a minute for any special occasion but I wouldn’t be afraid to request a more enjoyable server.

This is one of my top restaurants in slc. Its so incredible. The cheese plate and the butternut squash ravioli are the best. Topped off with a Banana Foster. Seriously the best!

One of the most charming ambiances in Salt Lake City. Interior matches a nostalgic American vision of a French Bistro, can be noisy when busy. Patio is one of the most pleasant in the city, helped by the fact that 1500 East is a fairly quiet street. However, why do restaurants buy outside tables with a wide central support which makes it difficult to pull chairs in? Paris is not the only one with these tables. The food? Pretty good. The French onion soup was reported to be quite acceptable, the soup du jour, chilled corn, was a bit too subtle and had texture issues. The fish was in a sprighlty light tomato based sauce, the steak salad had tender meat and slightly ovedressed greens. Service professional.

Unfortunately, I was not impressed with this place. I’ve been here a couple of times, and I think I have finally decided to not go back. I really want to like it because the location is great and the atmosphere is so nice. The food is however WAYYY over priced for the mediocrity of the quality. I have had better food for much less money.

This is a great place to go if you’re hungry and want to stay that way. Laury is a terrible manager who was no help when our table took an hour and a half to get ready, lost the reservation and when I told her we were unhappy for our VALENTINESDINNER experience all she said was«thank you for Expressing your self». Do NOT go here while she is there. Awful.

We came here tonight for their Valentine’s Day meal. It was all very nice, but not necessarily the best we have had. Plates presented nicely. The prime rib a a bit tough. I thought things were well-sauced.

The Paris is near my house and I LOVE the atmosphere. The food was delicious. I would give the food 4 stars. My husband and I shared the steak. We also shared butternut squash ravioli which was incredibly delicious. The problem was the service. Normally the service is amazing, and I could see other waiters helping other tables who looked as if they were amazing. Our waiter however was TERRIBLE. He never asked us if we needed another drink. He left us alone for about 20 minutes. The other servers and the hostess didn’t seem to notice either, even though we were sitting right near the hostess station. Really really bad. Which is disappointing, because so many things about the Paris are fantastic. Plus it was our birthday dinners. So overall, disappointing.

Favorite place in Salt Lake City. I don’t know why other restaurants have more stars but this place is amazing. The ambiance is breath taking and the food it very well priced. If you like wine this is a great place to go. This place is very romantic so keep that in mind but my brother had his bachelor party here and it’s still the best meal I have had. I have lived in both Seattle and Honolulu and I would put this place still at one of the best restaurants I have eaten at. If you have the chance go! Great French food.

FABULOUS What a great restaurant. The four of us came here for dinner and had an absolutely delicious meal. I started with the Caprese which consisted of Heirloom Tomatoes and homemade Buffalo Mozzarella — what a treat. For dinner I had the Wild Alaskan Salmon. It was cooked perfectly. I wish we had a restaurant like this near us in Florida!
