They have great breakfast sandwiches for about five dollars. Totally worth it, we always stop to get breakfast here on the way up to the mountains for snowboarding. I can’t really speak for the other stuff here but breakfast is on point.

I ordered their meatball sub as my entry ticket into the Caputo dynasty here in SLC. I can say it exceeded my pretty high expectations. The meatballs are small but pack a great flavor(you can tell they use cheese in them which I think is key to a good meatball). The hoagie roll was very fresh and moist to soak up their homemade tomato sauce. I can’t wait to go back and try out some of their other sandwiches!

I probably come here more than any other establishment. The meatball sandwich is the best in salt lake. I crave it everyday! I love everything about this place it has a really cool Italian deli feel! Also a great place to get your deli meat. I highly recommend stoping in for a sandwich or groceries. The ravioli and frozen meatballs are delicious as well!

I went to caputo’s for lunch with colleagues and I think it is a great place to get quality food at a good price. I got half roasted red pepper sandwich and a side of caprese salad, although I would be getting a full sandwich next time. The sandwich was very good. Caputo’s is a great place to get vegetarian sandwiches and to checkout some artisan chocolates and cheeses. Wish they had some soup options. I would go in there again for lunch/breakfast.

Everyone working here seems a little confused but super friendly. I was greeted upon walking in and they made my egg sandwich fresh to order on local baguette and it was insanely good. A medium coffee and egg sandwich came to $ 7 which is fair. I’m a first timer but I’ll definitely be back.

I’ve tried a few sandwiches here and never been disappointed. I love wandering around the store after I place my order checking out all the interesting foods for sale.

Just went here once and ordered a sandwich and salad. The sandwich was good but there homemade bread overwhelmed the meat. The side salad on the other hand was delicious and it only had olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

I visited Caputo’s for the first time tonight because a fantastic jazz combo was playing. I ordered a pastrami on marble rye, much like the marble rye that Jerry stole from an old lady in a Seinfeld episode. It was juicy and delicious. I was also pleased to see a variety of chocolates available for purchase. One chocolate product contained ingredients from Sri Lanka – I found this interesting only because I once visited Sri Lanka. I ended up purchasing a chocolate with gentle coconut flakes upon it. It tasted okay the moment I placed it in my mouth. Within seconds it became slightly bitter. After dissolving in my mouth it became extremely bitter and so I decided to give the three remaining bars to friends at my table. They also concluded that the taste was subpar. I was also disappointed in the soda fountain offering and cup sizes. I ordered a large beverage and my cup was at most 20oz. Diet Pepsi was my only sugar-free choice. I generally expect Coke Zero and on a very rare and joyful occasion, Diet Mountain Dew. Outside, the smooth jazz was quite enjoyable. I especially enjoyed the drumming. I could tell that the drummer was extremely skilled. He controlled the tempo with grace and did not overtake the band with overpowering solos. The fill-ins were timely and tasteful. If Unilocal offered half-star increments I would rate this establishment 3.5. In this case I am rounding up to 4.

If you’re feeling something fresh this is a place for you. It’s not your typical chain restaurant. Food is served fresh and not with fancy presentation which for me is okay.

Had to stop by here when I was in SLC. The best sandwiches. Also, swing by their little grocery area. I stocked up on olive oil and balsamic(on the cheap) to bring back with me.

I’ve never been to the downtown location, but the 15 and 15 location was cute and quaint. Nice selection of soups and sandwiches.

Delicious cheese sandwich! I can’t remember how many cheeses — at least 4! I had them make it as a panini otherwise I think it just comes cold. One of the cheeses must have a mild chipotle or something in it otherwise there was a very light and perfect amount of a mild chipotle mayo spread that have the sandwich a perfect balance of grilled cheese and a little extra flavor. I’ve been to the downtown location too and they both have their own unique style. Great quality restaurant and food!

If this really is the best sandwich SLC has to offer, that’s kind of sad. Great quality cheese and meats, but for me, an amazing sandwich also needs good bread. The roll the Caputo came on was around supermarket quality. Not a bad sandwich but definitely nothing special at all. I did like the outdoor seating and I randomly found some pok pok(thai, not italian) drinking vinegar for slightly cheaper than it was at Harmons. I’ll likely try the meatball sub everyone raved about the next time I’m in town, but keeping my expectations low.

Caputos has fine ingredients for their sandwiches but probably the worst construction of a sandwich I’ve ever seen. Really, even Subway would have been more fulfilling(and I used to be a manager at Jimmy Johns, so I hate nasty subway sandwiches with a passion). I had the hot Pastrami on marble rye, and the meat was thick and tough while the bread was thin and flimsy. My first small bite carried half the sandwich fillings into my mouth and my last bite consisted of bread and thickly laid Dijon mustard. Gross. This might be a good place to get some nice imported ingredients, but you can bet I won’t be eating another sandwich again until they get trained on how to make one. I’d rather go anywhere else and spend half as much. ****update: the manager contacted me and said they did what they could to fix the sandwich and offered me a free sandwich to come back. I might do that someday, but either way I’m bumping the review up to 3 stars because I appreciate a business that cares about what its customers think.

If you look at my check-ins, you’ll know, I’m a bit of a Captuo’s slut. And I am not faithful to any one particular location. In my defense, I was going strong and steady with the downtown location until all these others started popping up around the valley over the years… The 15th and 15th location is close enough to home that I can swing by after work to pick up some fresh burrata and picholine olives. Their staff is super friendly and even nice enough to pull some things aside when I call ahead because I’m in a rush or they’re about to close down shop for the evening(be aware: they’re early-birds, closing at 6 pm during the week). Starting this year, there are 2 new locations to add to my Caputo’s repertoire: Holladay and Saturday mornings at the Downtown Farmer’s Market, where I picked up the most delightful cheeses. The friendliest cheese monger introduced my gentleman friend and I to the smoothest, buttery-est(yes, I just invented a word there) white cheddar, and the most delicious truffle-bathed-gouda. My favorite part of the Captuo’s Market experience is picking the brains of the folks who work behind the counters. More often than not, I find myself speaking with the cheesemonger or talking chocolate with Matt Caputo himself.

One of my favorite sandwich shops around town so I was delighted to find one up by my new house. The stores layout is somewhat poor and you’ll see what I mean if they’re busy. The line to order and the line to pay clash. Great for specialty meats, cheeses, seasonings, pastas, and chocolates. So check it out if you love cooking with good food. Lastly, the staff is friendly & helpful.

The quintessential local Italian Deli! And right in my neighborhood! They have a great selection of meats, cheeses, olives and pasta-type salads in the deli case… but you go to Caputo’s for the sandwiches! They don’t win Salt Lake Weekly’s «Best Sandwich» in town award for nothing! I am partial to their tuna salads… fresh and wonderful… the kind of tuna-salad I would make for myself at home… light mayo, lots of albacore tuna, great, fresh greens… I have them often! I don’t get meatball sandwiches very often — — but Caputo’s may have the best one I have ever tasted… anywhere. The half-order meatball is plenty! On nice days… there’s no better place to sit and enjoy a light lunch than their outdoor patio area! It’s a family favorite!

All I have to say is that they sell Creminelli salami here — I am in love with their Casalingo and the Salami Sopressata. Sooo good. Cute place — reminds me of a cross between Whole Foods and Fox & Obel. Supposedly, this place has a plethora of samples. When I went, there was an olive oil/balsamic vinegar tasting. They also have a little deli/eatery where you can get a meal. Cute! 2 hour parking as well as a lot for your cars available. +sells Creminelli salami +has samplings & tastings +2-hour parking available
