There are a plethora of taco options in this part of Salt Lake, 3 or 4 independent taco carts within a block of each other and then there is Taco Time. I love the taco carts and what menu items they have they do very well, but sometimes you just need what a brick and mortar store can handle, specifically a variety of choices packed for transport, a fast drive thru, and restroom facilities. That said, Taco Time does decent fast Americanized Mexican. I’m a personal fan of their crispy burritos(bean, beef, or chicken); these are basically crispy flautas. They also have good deals on daily specials. The staff have always been friendly and the restaurant has always been clean when I visited. Parking is easy and I love their metal artwork in the parking lot.

This location has gone down hill in the past 6 months. The portion sizes keep getting smaller. Makes me think they are having money problems. Today the meat burrito ended up being a bean burrito and it was more tortilla than filling. I eat at some of the other Taco Times and the food is good and the portion sizes are still what can be expected at Taco Time. No more I won’t be going back to the 800 South store.

This is one of their best restaurants(along with those in Kaysville and Cottonwood). They usually test new items – Navajo tacos this time – and have great employees. I worked at taco time for my first job.

This is the best Taco Time in Utah. They always offer samples of their frozen desserts, and they food quality is consistently good. The atmosphere is good for kids and their drive up is efficient. I’d rather spend a few more bucks here for fresh, fast mex than go to «taco hell.»

Compared to places in socal like el pollo loco the taco salad was quite a bit smaller here still felt hungry after ordering one

The food here is better than Taco bell, but it’s also not worth the higher price. The dining area here is also a lot more comfortable and with the addition of the fresh salsa bar it’s one of the better fast food chains around.

I don’t eat at Taco Time unless I’m with my girlfriend, she’s a vegetarian and loves their veggie burrito. The food is okay, they have a decent salsa bar with various salsas, peppers, pico, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera… but whenever I’m in the area there’s no way I will pick Taco Time over the taco carts across the street. Whenever I go there it’s just to keep the girlfriend from ending up in a coma when she’s burned out on the Veggie Works burrito at Del Taco. I know, I know, it’s serious.

It’s tex-mex time! The daily specials are great and the 4 for $ 5 is a steal. My favie is the ranch chicken and black bean burrito. Gotta get the combo everytime. I must have tater-tots with cheese!

My favorite chain Mexican restaurant. The weekday specials are a good cheap way of getting full. I have always been a sucker for the crisp burritos. I appreciate the fact they have a salsa bar. That has way more then the usual salsa bars. Such as ranch, their own casa sauce, ketchup and other condiments. Fast good food is all I have to say.

Taco Time serves good fast food. It’s the extremely Americanized version of Mexican fast food, but is much higher quality than the place that makes you«run for the border.» Many of the ingredients are fresh and the execution is good, especially for the price, which has come down significantly over the past year or so. They now have lots of specials with competitive pricing. The service is good and they have a pretty extensive salsa bar with ranch, 3 or 4 varieties of peppers and a decent variety of salsas. Don’t expect to be WOWED and you should end up being satisfied.

Of all the Mexican fast food that’s out there the best one is hands down Taco Time. Dude the crisp meat and crisp bean and NOW the crisp Juan and unbeatable. And to top off any visit you must try the cinnamon crustos. There red sauce is great and it goes on top of everything you want it to.

Cheap. Healthy. Fast. I LIVED on the veggie burrito and the crisp bean when I was a young college student at SLCC fifty million years ago. Then I moved out of state :-( Then I moved back! Now I can have them any time I want! I just order the burrito without the sour cream and it’s all good. Always fast and friendly. Always fresh. People try to tell me horror stories about their health dept inspections but that isn’t going to scare me off until I actually see some filth. Which I haven’t.

This is a very good Mexican restaurant, better than fast food and not as expensive as other fancier places. The prices are good and the staff is wonderfully friendly – of course that also depends on how we customers treat restaurant employees everywhere we go. The place is beautifully, colorfully decorated inside and out. I went back during my stay in SLC while covering the Sundance Film Festival in nearby Park City – I stayed in Salt Lake for a week.
