Very good Chinese food! Nice setting and attentive servers. The food came quickly and I can say that they have my favorite fried rice!

Great place. Great staff. Delicious food. What more could you ask for?! Plus if you go to the U it’s right there!

Great food, great price point, especially for lunch. The menu is extensive and there are plenty of daily lunch options. Their lunch bowls are sizable — I was impressed! I had the chicken curry noodle bowl, which is a Vietnamese coconut milk curry with chicken thighs and potatoes. It was served over a bed of rice noodles and bean sprouts — not my favorite, but still tasty! The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the flavor was on point, just the way my mother-in-law makes it! No substitutes can be made for the lunch bowls, as I had asked to sub the noodles for baguette(my preferred accompaniment to Viet curry) or even rice. Service was quick and the atmosphere was clean and modern. Great place to grab lunch in Salt Lake City!

I loved Indochine, I might even try again in a year and perhaps will love it again… But, tonight I walked out due to service issues. The restaurant was nearly empty and somehow in 20 minutes we received no service past water. As the outdoor retailers convention closed an influx of people occurred, one such table was granted gold star service, even being the last folks sat. After the manager and waitress in the section had a discrete, but completely not discrete conversation in hand gestures about how we had not been served, the waitress still went back to that table to take their order. So, we left, since what’s the point at that point? I really hope this was just a fluke, but they definitely just lost some business.

Amazing food. I had an appetizer of muscles that was in a yellow curry. It was a perfect flavor with a touch of heat. Then I had a daily special seafood bisque. It had generous portions of shrimp, muscles, scallops, and cod. It had a smooth red curry flavor and was easily one of the best bisque I have ever had.

Amazing flavors! Fresh clean dishes full of flavor and delicious levels of Asian goodness. The beef was tender and perfectly sliced and the noodles and vegetables were tremendous. You can’t lose coming in for lunch or dinner. Proved are decent and the servers were extremely nice.

There isn’t anything groundbreaking about this place, but it is a solid Asian option, and is also hands down the best restaurant to get lunch by the U. While school’s in session they have lunch specials, which are hella affordable and not too shabby. My faves are Singapore noodles on Mondays(yes, I know that they originated in Hong Kong, and then became popularized in the U.S. — please bore someone else with your authenticity lectures, thanks), pork eggplant on Thursdays, and anything chili spiced. I know that chili spiced beef is served on Thursdays, don’t remember when the tofu is served. Their hot and sour soup is quite delish, and a bit different from the standard. If it’s not lunch, this place is on the expensive side unless you get soup. And while I’m not a huge fan of the phở here, I really like their«hue» — it’s sort of like phở, but with thicker noodles and some stuff floating in there that looks like tofu, but is def a meat product. Regardless, it’s pretty good — both the broth and the meat product. Also, since their mixed drank are actually quite good, it is a nice spot for getting some cocktails and munching on appetizers in a quieter setting.

Dropped by for something asian. We had the rice and noodles. The noodles or phở is decent, but the pork eggplant rice with lemon chicken & sweet sour soup is slightly different from my expectation. I am pretty sure the locals will like it just not the asians. Lol.

Avoid. A quick glance at the menu will show that this is an Asian Resteraunt, serving Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese. Having tasted all 3, I can tell you that they specialize in none. After receiving Saigon crispy rolls in a box with no sauce, no herbs, no greens whatsoever, I called the restaurant asking if I could come back and pick up the rest. Long story short, Derrik explained to me that their menu was wrong. He asked if I wanted to speak to the manager, I said sure – so then he hung up. Nice work guys!

i came here with my mom for a late birthday lunch and was very impressed. we were actually going to eat at mi la cai, but accidently passed it on the freeway, and decided to eat here instead which worked out for the better. we got here right at 11:00 and there was only one other table there. we chose to sit inside as it was too cold to be on the patio outside. our server was friendly and explained how they make their dishes gluten free. i was super impressed that their menu actually has gluten free items marked and couldn’t decide on what to get. there were so many options to choose from! their menu also has items marked that are vegan, spicy, a longer wait, where MSG may be omitted, tofu option, and a vegan option. i ended up getting the nem nuong(pork meatballs satay) spring roll. i thought it was a bit higher priced at around $ 15, but when it came out, i realized why it was more expensive. it was a huge serving and i didn’t even get through half of it. it’s definitely meant to be shared. you basically wrap your own spring roll and they bring out the rice paper and side of vegetables with noodles for you. it was so good and i was so happy to be able to eat it. the best nem nuong i’ve had was surprisingly not in vietnam, but in laos. it was so good at this one restaurant in laos, that i literally ate lunch there everyday for two weeks. my parents got sick of it and would go get phở or some other meal instead to go, and take it with them to join me while i ate my nem nuong. yeah i definitely gained quite a bit of weight on that trip, even with food poisoning earlier in the vacation. my point is, i love nem nuong, and usually try it every time i see it on the menu. i have always been disappointed until now. indochine still isn’t as good as the one i’ve had in laos, but it comes in as second. way better than what i’ve had in california for sure. i don’t even know what my mom got, i was too selfishly obsessed with my nem nuong. i know it was some soup dish that she enjoyed. even though this is a bit far for me since it’s by the U, i plan on coming here again to try out their cocktails and other entrees. by the time we left around one, they were really busy and the patio was full. just a tip, the bathroom isn’t the first one you’ll see on the right(single one/both genders). if you walk further in the restaurant, you’ll see a male and female bathroom in a hallway on the right.

This is a restaurant with a lot of great vegan options and they are sensitive to vegans. It tastes very fresh. The dishes are original and the staff is nice.

This place is one of the great places you can go for a nice meal. The environment here is so relaxing. They have a huge variety in their menu. I get too lazy to read over it so I just ask for suggestions from the waiters. I went with friends and I ordered the glazed pork. It was very good, but the pork eventually got too sweet for me. Or maybe because I ran out of rice. We sat outside, which was wonderful because of the nice cool weather we have been having. One thing about this place though is that it seem like our waiter disappears for a while, but they never fail to notice when you are done so they will take away all the dishes as quick as possible. All in all this is a great place with great food. Definitely will come back again.

I went here with a group of friends after a conference out of convenience(it was about 2 blocks away from the University of Utah) and I found the food really good. We ordered pad thai(asked for it to be VERY spicy), caramelized pork, and steamed vegetables. The caramelized pork was good, but I think it looked tastier than it actually is. What I loved was that when we asked for the pad thai to be very very VERY spicy, they truly made it spicy and did not disappoint.(The pad thai was spicy enough that a few of my friends were sweating, sniffling, and had to take off their sweater lol). In addition to the spice, the pad thai was tasty and I really enjoyed the meal.

Food came out rather quickly and was pretty tasty. We had the Lettuce wraps, shrimp, char chui curry noodles and vegetable rice; the only thing missing was a little flavor. Although it was good, I felt they were holding back on flavors famous in Vietnamese traditional food.

We had a lot of us in our party(9) and we wanted to give this place a try. The service was awesome! The place was packed and they were on top of everything. Sadly the food didn’t match the service. The good: Saigon crisp spring rolls garlic chicken & basil fried rice sizzling crêpe ~ Bánh xèo The so-so: Phở with brisket and eye round steak Pot stickers and cream cheese wontons Yangzhou fried rice Singapore Noodles Noodle salad Saigon crispy spring rolls The bad: Butter Garlic wings I think if we go back, we will stick with that is good. The items that were very popular were just so-so, and the real Vietnamese style dishes were pretty tasty.

WORST service today! Have been coming into this place for more than one year, but today it’s really bad. We asked the waiter to order, he kept chatting with another waitress and ignore us, and finally when he came with an angry face, he said we should wait for him. Seriously ?? We should waiting for the waiter when he is chatting? The food is too salty, we asked for redo, he said«you ordered it, and that’s it.». Since it’s too salty, I drank the whole glass of water, but never get refilled, he just brought the check and walked away. What kind of restaurants it turns into? NEVER go to this place again.

I’d been wanting to try this place for some time and figured last night was the perfect time to give it a whirl. Due to unforeseen stomach issues, I was craving something light and not over the top. The Lemongrass noodle dish was excellent! The presentation of the dish alone was marvelously done; the taste was equally magnificent. Side note: I got it with Tofu and it still tasted amazing. The lemongrass taste wasn’t overwhelming like I’ve had before and the sauce it came with was subtle. My companion ordered the Monk’s Stew and said it was similarly delicious. My only gripe is the price: seems a little high for Vietnamese food and we ordered two of the less expensive dishes. This could be to keep out college folk who are living on a budget. There are equally good Vietnamese options for cheaper. Still, that doesn’t change that Indochine is a solid option for what is offered.

Trying the beef brisket PHO can’t wait so excited! So glad the PHO was gluten free! It was delicious! Wish it had more brisket but it was super tasty. The waiter was nice. Took a little longer to get the check up it was ok. Bathroom was beautiful but would have liked to have the toilet paper and the paper towel in the dispenser. In which everyone had to unroll and touch products. If your bathroom is clean and can count on my return. I had so much PHO I will have enough to take home for dinner.

Phở Review I haven’t tried all phở in Salt Lake, and I’m no expert. All I can do is compare it to my favorite phở restaurants(so far) — Oh Mai and Green Papaya. Noodles — Compared to both of those restaurants, the phở here has far more noodles. Maybe you’ll appreciate that, but for me it was too much. I’d rather have extra broth to allow all the flavors to soak in. Broth — pretty good. But I far prefer Oh Mai’s broth. Once again, too many noodles got in the way. But some of you may like that. Meat — I had the steak and for the first time was asked how I want it cooked. I chose medium rare(which usually seems to be the default in phở), and it was quite tasty. I didn’t love how thick the slices of meat were compared to other places. Sauce — strangely, the hoisin and siracha sauces came in a little bowl together. I prefer having bottles to administer my own portions. Overall, I liked the phở and would come back for it. The total at lunch time was about $ 9 — excluding tip. Parking — be prepared to pay $ 2 per hour to park in front. The restaurant is nice and clean and modern. I came in at 11:15am as the first customer, but within 20 minutes the place was raging with patrons.
