I called Hearth and Home based on the feedback from family members. When I first visited Hearth and Home in Sugarhouse, I was impressed by the «solutions» approach that the sales person Bill provided. Bill was patient with all of my questions. When the installer came to give us a bid (at our home), I really appreciated his «can do attitude». The bid came back… and seemed like a reasonable price. The installation went as expected and the fireplace turned out amazing. Now… the rest of the story. Our neighbor came over to check out our fireplace and stated that they ere getting a fireplace installed for a lower price (from a competitor) than what we had paid. The day of their install, the «competitor» shut off their gas to perform the install. Several hours later… at 10:00pm in the evening our neighbor had discovered that they «competitor» never turned back on their gas. I have no question that Hearth and Home will price match. But… I believe their level of service is unmatched. (And our gas service was never interrupted.)

I have tried calling three times for an appointment and can’t get anyone to show up. The first time the guy (Matt) never shows, I call to see if I had the date wrong nope, he double booked and forgot. He apologizes and says he will call on Monday to reschedule. Two weeks later no call. I call back after explains to the lady again she says, «oh yes I see it here» let me call Matt and reschedule. Two days has passed, no phone call! Seriously! This is terrible service I don’t know what it takes to get an appointment with these guys but it’s much harder than I’m willing to try. I’ve spent one month trying to even call them. I could have had my fireplace installation scheduled by now instead of the initial quote.

What a place! And what a nice place to go into on a cold day! Toasty warm! What an incredible array of fireplace, fireplace tools, fireplace screens, outdoor cooking grills, and anything to do with fire and heat. You will find it here! The staff is as professional as you can imagine. Super nice, very helpful, no question is too stupid. They are there to help. I would imagine that their installation team is just as good as their in store team, but I have not yet had the pleasure. I’m not sure if the pricing is in line with other places, but I get the feeling that other places, like Lowe’s or Home Depot do not have the high quality items that Hearth and Home has. I will definitely be back if I ever need anything in the way of fireplaces, wood stoves, or outdoor grills!
