They had amazing burgers. But they had wierd, random days when they weren’t open and they are gone now.

Closed!!! Phone out too. I was driving by here today and noticed that the place was cleaned out and no cars around on a Monday. Sad to see them go.

Was just ok. Way undercooked. We got it to go so couldn’t complain. Blue cheese and garlic burger, to much grease and we couldn’t tell which was which on the flavor. Way to expensive as well. The service should get 5 stars though the lady working there was really nice, I forgot my wallet and she offered to take a raincheck! I didn’t want to do that and ran home to get my wallet.

Great vibe and tons of heart at this ramshackle little place off of State. Have gotten the Garlic Burger both times. Cooked extremely well done, I would not recommend this if you like your burgers with any amount of pink. Good amount of garlic, the bun definitely falls apart so make sure to grab extra napkins! Generous helping of fries that appear authentic/are different than the typical $ 6 bag of Costco Crinkle Cuts that my sad existence is accustomed to. Came with fry sauce as this is Utah. Person working the register called me «lad.» That’s a new one. But definitely added to the charm of the place. I will for sure be back, if only to try other items on the menu and in the hopes that I get called«gent,» «hon,» or any other number of nicknames appropriate for my 16-year old like appearance.

Very good IF they’re open. Posted hours are M-F«am to 3pm». Not sure what that means. I just went at 1pm and closed. They seem to open when they feel like it. DELICIOUS burger and fries though! I love the Hawaiian with the pineapple, so juicy and flavorful. So if you can catch them open its a good eat. CASHONLY!

I enjoyed a wonderful lunch today at Guzzis! The burger was huge. Bacon Blue. The bun was so delicious and soft but was toasted and was substantial enough to hold the burger together but not too much bread. The meat was tasty but for me the grilled onions and drippings made the burger awesome. The fries tasted like a potato was just cut and fried. I would almost call it a greasy spoon place but in a GOOD way. The building is old and seems modified into a restaurant with justa few tables which adds to the charm. The staff was very friendly. If you like burger joints you really should try this.

Bomb! That’s all. So delicious. Ordered the basic Guzzi cheeseburger and did not set it down until it was gone. The fries that came with the burger were perfectly done. They have fry sauce too. PS, don’t forget to look for the pickle underneath. Well done Guzzis. Friend ordered a garlic burger add bacon and jalapeño. Ridiculously good.

Some of the best burgers in town — super fresh and tasty and served with hand cut fries. The staff is very friendly.

As a burger lover and advocate I can’t begin to describe the awesomeness of this place. Let me just say, it’s awesome. Their dive style burgers are filled with a flavor that can only come from a grill with a classic patina. I get the blue bacon burger, and the fries are packed with flavor.

Probably the best way to describe the atmosphere and general motif of this place is to call it a biker bar without the bar part of it. There are motorcycles everywhere, including on the roof and an odd assortment of periodicals to rival and be the envy of any doctor’s office along with Oldie’s tunes blaring on the overhead, though not quite enough to be intrusive. Parking is a disaster and had the lot not been empty when I was in the area, I probably would have kept right on truckin’. As noted in other reviews, this place is tiny inside, borderline cramped, in fact. Drink selection is abysmal, enough to the point where it won’t be a regular stop for me, given the admonishment about outside food or drink(7 – 11 is directly across 800 S. to the north). Staff is incredibly friendly and was one of the better parts about the visit. As to the food, I hadn’t had a garlic burger in quite some time, so I went with that, but like MC Free W, I’ve largely given up eating burgers without bacon on them. It was a bit slow to get them and the texture of the burger is what I call«unfortunate,» which you should read as «overworked» meat. You can do this at home, incidentally. Get some hamburger, get it to about room temperature, dump seasonings of some kind in it and then knead it with your hands for about 15 minutes or so, then form into patties by pressing it together as hard as you possibly can and cook… it’s that kind of texture and one I don’t particularly care for. Anyway, that aside, it was pretty tasty, even though it had iceberg lettuce dropping everywhere and the American cheese on it was none too exciting. There was also far, far, far too little bacon on it. Bun, as noted elsewhere, is very good, but almost not up to the task of holding this together. Fries, on the other hand, were a complete disaster, half of them were dark brown, almost as if the potato was bad and the other half more normal, but all of them were wet with grease. No thanks to that, but I’m not a big fry guy in general, anyway. Again, we have a lot of stuff done right and a lot of stuff, particularly the texture of the burger, that is enough to keep me away, but balances things about. All in all, I’d call the taste of it when it had the bacon there also pretty good and if they buttoned up those other things, it’d be an easy 4, but I’m rating based on what it is, not what I wish it was. Worth a look if you’re doing the burger tour, but for me, not worth a repeat visit.

We make the rounds eating burgers in this town and it had been a while since we had visited Guzzies. I remember it being good but couldn’t remember how good. Stopped in today and glad we did. First off really nice staff. My wife and her sister shared a burger and they cut it for them. The lady also asked if we wanted more fries since the shared order looked light. Best part of the burger was the flavor of the meat. I was surprised. Fresh cut mushrooms too. My sister in law who had not eaten meat in ten years said she wow, I’m going back to meat! The bun was perfect too. They fresh cut the fries and were cooked perfect. If your in the mood for a great burger in a cool little spot to to Guzzies. The only thing to consider is it’s very small. Maybe three tables and a small counter so avoid peak lunch hour if you want to sit down.

Salt Lake City is burgers. And burgers are Salt Lake City. So when you start slinging beef in this town, you’d better do it well. You’d better mean business and you’d better bring the heat. Guzzi’s has character and charm – this is a divey little joint decked out in motorcycle memorabilia, located along 800 South. It’s got all the makings of a great little burger shack – the outdoor window, the bar, the cramped interior. Yes, you’ve got some good things going. So what about that burger? Does it meat(see what I did there?) expectation? Well, I’ll give them lots of love for a simple burger menu with some creative burger creations. I tried the bleu bacon burger. For those who knew me pre-2010, it will surprise you that I ordered something with bleu cheese(we were hitherto sworn enemies) and it may double surprise you to hear this: I think it needed more of the stinky stuff. This was a sloppy burger, and I do delight in such. The fries were big, fresh-cut suckas and I thought they were fine. What I would like to do, is come back and sample a few more of the burger creations. Because they’ve got a few fun ones that look to be creative enough to get my attention. The service was really solid. The food came out fast and the fella running the joint(the owner?) was so nice and you can tell he cared about everyone having a great lunch. Add this to your burger stop list for SLC and dive in to another of this town’s unique burger finds.

This burger. Just a simple cheeseburger with onions, lettuce, tomato. But… Oh. My. God. Definitely the best burger I can remember having, and the homestyle fries weren’t to shabby either! Highly recommended. Five stars for what it is… A wonderful burger joint.

I will call out anyone who gives this anything less than three stars for something that isnt a freak accident that happened to them while either being at Guzzi’s or eating their food. It seems that most of the below 3 stars are because of just those. Honestly, when I think to myself«self, I want a fantastic burger today» where do I think of? I think of Crown Burger, then I think of somewhere even better… Guzzi’s. Either beating the rush or waiting for it to subside is a must for me because it is a small place and takes a while for your food. But everything I have eaten here has been remarkable. I would bet that if you say something like«If you are looking for the best burger, drive on…» that you may have a medical condition that doesnt allow you to EVER be satisfied and you will be «driving on» forever and ever.

Alert… wear a rubber suit! You have to assume the proper position at the table to keep the drippings off of your clothes. Had the Pastrami Burger, which was excellent. I am a fan of any burger that is made the old fashion way, as ordered, and not in a production line fashion. The fries are AWESOME… big, hand cut, perfectly cooked. One of the best burgers in SLC, close to the top of the list for me. The dive atmosphere is great… the staff had Eric Clapton playing loud, and would at times add their versions of the songs, which were hilarious. Great spot for a great burger in a relaxed location. Get there early or wait til the noon rush is over. Thanks Guzzi’s!

What can I say? A good burger is a good burger and Guzzi’s has good burgers! It’s been several months since my visit and man, I can still feel the grease dripping down my fingers, the burger falling apart in my hands and I can still taste the garlic on my breath. Yes, I had the garlic burger and man oh man, when they mean garlic burger, they mean garlic burger. Let’s just say it’s almost more garlic than burger! The place is small, cramped, and downright dirty, but the burgers and fries were big, delicious and oh so satisfying. I judge a burger by its meat first and then its bun and then its fixings and everything on this Guzzi burger was delicious. The meat was fresh, flavorful and plentiful. The bun was a nice compliment to the beef and the fixings were just right. It was a messy meal, but so worth the confusion trying to figure out where to take my first bite. We got fries too and those were delicious as well. Bottom line: Grab a lot of napkins before you sit down to bite into these monstrous burgers. Better yet, save the napkins for the end and just enjoy the mess of a burger until you’ve devoured it all. Napkins will only get in the way.

I really like Guzzi’s and I’m glad that I took the risk to stop into this little place. I was getting my car serviced at one of the downtown shops and decided to walk around instead of waiting in the shop. I stumbled upon this little place and I am sure glad that I did! I love a good burger and this place really does it right. I had the garlic burger and there was enough garlic on it to actually taste it — something other places often do not live up to. Guzzi uses basic fix’ns of tomato, lettuce, onion but it is better than your standard fare. First of all, Guzzi uses garden produce from a community garden that he has been a part of for years. Second, he offers grilled and fresh onions, the the grilled onions are perfectly caramelized. This is a small place with a small menu but the experience is massive. Guzzi is personable and quite the interesting guy. I really enjoyed talking with him. Plus he is really invested in his customers, personally making sure that everyone is satisfied. Don’t overlook this little place, it is really is one of Salt Lake’s little gems.

I was blown away with my first experience at this place. Josh, a part owner, could not have been more friendly and inviting. His burgers, that he takes obvious pride in, were just voted«The Best Burgers and Fries in SLC» by City Weekly. I talked to him a bit about how he makes his Bleu Bacon Burger(he mixes fresh bacon bits and bleu cheese crumbles together and pats them into the bottom side of the patty, when the bacon cooks the flavor is trapped in the patty), it sounded amazing but not being a huge bleu cheese fan I opted for the garlic burger with grilled onions that I give an absolute A+ to. There are plenty of places for burgers in SLC but this absolutely stands out in my mind. I am excited that Guzzi’s popped up in my neighborhood as it is a welcome addition. The place is full of character and the people working there genuinely care about what they are making. I just can’t wait to go back again!

I love a good burger and this place is pretty good. The burgers are a solid three stars, but the tiny mom and pop feel gives you another star. They appreciate you here, they listen to the customers and make changes and they are pretty quick for a make it when you order kind of place. The reviewers are right, the fries are ok, but not stellar. They are, however, better than in-n-out for a fresh cut fry! IMHO. The menu here is burger and fry heavy. With I think only 5 choices from blue cheese to pineapple and on to bacon. They also do a WONDERFUL pulled pork. It’s a tiny old converted sit at the bar diner, so space and parking is limited. Keep that in mind during lunch hour and schedule your lunch after one.

Burgers and Fries, I like places that have a few items but do those items extremely well! I’ve nearly tried all the burgers on the menu. He’s done a great job in selecting the right bun that will hold up to the burger patty which has a good coarse grind for that hamburger texture. Somehow he did manage to overlook the bleu cheese, it’s more like a ranch dressing than crumbles. Can you imagine how much better if there were melting bleu cheese with a bit of browning on top? yum I say. The fries are decent and fresh cut and fried. But I’m more of a crispy twice fried fry guy than a single fry. But that doesn’t prevent me from finishing all my fries with their homemade fry sauce. Be warned, this place is small and super cozy.
