Best Doughnuts in SLCIMHO. Get there by 7 on Saturday and you’ll have your pick of the lot. Get there by 9 and you might get lucky, or you might not. Their raspberry glazed cake doughnuts are my personal fave.

I love these donuts. Way better than Banbury Cross in my opinion. Get there early for the best selection and melt in your mouth perfection.

Hands down the best doughnuts EVER! They’re soft and fluffy! Everything you want in a doughnut. If you get them in the morning they are still warm. I’ve had the glazed and the chocolate custard filled and they are both amazing. I will definitely be coming here everything time I’m in Utah.

I have put off writing this review for a LONG time, and sadly, I must admit that it was for purely selfish reasons. I’ll admit it, part of me didn’t want the secret of this glorious establishment to become public knowledge. That spoiled little child inside of me said«No, don’t them… Don’t tell them about the precious»…Apparently my inner child is Gollum… So apparently I am feeling generous today because I am finally ready to let everyone know. THESEARETHEBESTDONUTSINTHESTATE. The shop itself is so unassuming that unless you are paying close attention, you will drive right past it, which, leaves more donuts for me, but I digress. Literally every donut I have tried there has been the best version of that particular kind of donut that I have ever tried anywhere anytime. In my biased opinion however, the crowning jewel is the Apple Fritter. I can’t even… you guys… just…just eat the Fritter and you’re welcome. Blue’s favorite is the regular and original glazed, and that’s really saying something if you think about it. Consider this my gift to the world. Go forth and EATTHESEDONUTS. But be quick about it, because they close down early and once the donuts are gone, they are gone.

I swear they use the same recipes as the old Winchells that used to me in that spot. Which is fine by me. I grew up in SoCal and grew up on Winchells. The cake donuts are great and the apple fritters and cinnamon rolls are fantastic too. I’m a huge fan!

The best donuts ever! My husband and I don’t live super close so it’s always a treat to stop and get a delicious donut. They never disappoint and we love that they have sprinkle white cake donuts, something that most bakery’s never seem to have when we want one.

Update time: Better than ever! Awesome donuts! On Halloween, I noticed they had some festive choices as well which made for a nice touch! I notice that now Fresh Donut & Deli is way busier than in time’s past but it definitely reflects on the quality of donuts and coffee they offer. Sometimes the line is almost out the door, but good for them. They’re still my favorite!

These are the best donuts in the valley hands down; I have never been disappointed. The staff is always very friendly and even though there is always a line I never feel like I’m waiting long. The plain glazed are pillowy perfection and the apple fritters are crispy on the outside and delicate on the inside.

I drive by this place on the daily. I stopped by one morning and a good thing I did. The donuts were fresh and sooo good. Me and my wife are simple donuters lol. But I’m excited to try what else they got going on. Your one stop shop for donuts.

This is hands down my favorite donut place in the Salt Lake Valley. Their cake donuts are incredible and hit the spot every time! There is often a line out the door which is very indicative of how good they are. The service is always fast and very friendly.

I love every part of every donut here. There is a not a bad choice you could make. There is actually only one bad thing to say and that is I always want more. I’m too old to keep eating donuts. But if I could. I would eat every meat here.

Three stars? What was I thinking?! I’ll tell you what I was thinking: «Nobody should be awake before noon, therefore breakfast is not my favorite, therefore doughnuts are not my favorite.» However, I am just coming home from two years of seclusion in Logan, Utah. During that time, two-to-three doughnut shops opened up up there, in what is otherwise a culinarily sparse environment. Avid Unilocaler that I am, I rushed in to score some doughnuts and FTRs and EVERYTIME I thought about how they paled in comparison with the doughnuts I tried at Fresh and at Banbury. Fresh Donut and Deli, I’m sorry for taking you for granted all those years you enabled me to start my Saturday morning work days with a sugar high and caffeine rush. Now I’m an adult with an adult job and have found myself stopping in on the weekday mornings that I can’t face another bowl of bran flakes(adult cereal for an adult who adults), and can I tell you that warm donuts are not just the provenance of Krispy Kreme? They make me want to stop what I’m doing and lock myself alone in a room with a hundred(or more!) hot, Fresh donuts and have my way. Do I love breakfast now? No. Are donuts still not my favorite food group? Yes, when I’m being reasonable. Fresh Donut & Deli makes me feel unreasonable.

Really good donuts always fresh, the apple fritters are awesome too. My coworker loves the fritters I always have to bring him one. Small selection of canned/bottle sodas and coffee. Closed on Sunday.

There is not a person I know who I have not told about Fresh Donuts and Deli. I found them when I started riding my bike to work and traveled State Street. You could smell the bakery from about a half mile out. So that next day I decided to give it a try. This was 3 years ago and I’ve probably been here 50+ times since. The donuts stay fresher longer through the day. They are perfectly cooked every time. It is obvious they are hand made by a family that takes it seriously. The ONLY thing I wish they’d do different is to dip the chocolate raised, and maple raised about another ¾ of an inch into the chocolate or maple. Just a little more on those bad boys would be amazing. You. Will. Not. Be. Disappointed. I’ve been reluctant to leave a review here because I don’t want it getting too packed.

Damn good donuts! Best apple fritter in Utah, hands down. Made fresh with buttermilk. Yuuummm. Ran by a hard-working family who starts their day while we’re fast asleep.

This place is legit! I spent the last 5 years living in LaLa land sampling some of the nation’s most delicious donuts. I then moved back to SLC where everyone thinks Dunkin’ Donuts is hot sh*t, when really it’s just OK sh*t. Then there is banbury, which is also just ok and sells out of everything decent by 7am, not to mention its run by a hoard of teens. So, long story short I have been buying my donuts at bakeries because they had the best quality. Fast forward to this Saturday when I finally made it down to Donut & Deli. Their donuts look unassuming but don’t let this fool you. Their donuts have bold flavor, crisp outsides, and moist cakey inside. The standout of the day: the buttermilk donut. That’s right I am a buttermilk aficionado. I found the perfect buttermilk donut in while living in Pasadena(see my review for Gladstone donuts if you like), and ever since I have been on a quest to find something that compares. Donut & Deli’s buttermilk certainly measures up and tastes like more than a sad version of an old fashioned. This donut has bright vanilla flavor with a buttermilk tang and a delicious drizzle of glaze on top. It was cakey in the right places, dense in the right places, and mouth watering. If you want the real deal, make your way out to Donut & Deli. These donuts are well worth the calories you’ll be consuming.

Fresh donut and deli takes me back to my days. Utah doesn’t have very many donut shops like this place. Banbury donuts doesn’t hold a candle to fresh donut and deli. It’s like a mix of Krispy Kreme Hot and Ready now donuts and Dunkin’. My husband and I try to make it down at least twice a week. These donuts are worth running an extra mile.
