Taza Grill is the real name I am assuming? Its on main street and in back of a convenience store which makes it very strange to walk through to get there. Everytime I’ve come they have had a small tv with what looks to be bollywood or afghan music videos playing. I find it very entertaining to watch while i wait to order. The food is flavorful and very good! They give you a great amount and its always fresh. I was very impressed. The kabobs are wonderful and the saffron in the rice is great too. I will be coming back. Don’t let the location in back of a convenience mart scare you away. Its not very inviting but the food makes up for it! Its very, very good.

We ate here twice in a 24 hour period when we stayed in Salt Lake visiting family. You can’t beat the prices! The quality of food was excellent and the portions are huge. They have an upstairs area which is really private and interesting. The staff was very nice and the service was quick. Will eat here every time I come to Salt Lake :)

Good stuff. Not the best afghan food in salt lake, but certainly one of the better downtown food options of type any cuisine. Get a plate rather than a wrap. The difference in price is marginal compared with how much more full you’ll be.

We are vegeterians and we were looking for veggie options in SLT downtown. we found this place through Unilocal and decided to take the orders to go. We had veggie combo and falafel plate. It was really good. esp the rice which was very flavorful. The place is very small but good for grabbing a quick bite.

I was looking for a vegetarian place to eat close to my hotel. I saw this place on the map program. I walked the the two blocks and found it in the back of a small store. Had I stumbled upon it I might not have entered. It was not an inviting entrance. The name on the sign was not curry and kabobs. I was craving curry so I went on back through the store anyway. I ordered vegetarian curry with rice. It was good. I would have liked it spicier and with a better variety of vegetables but it was good the way it was. Prices were good and they were friendly.

Great Beef Kabab, excellent mango Lassi, great spices. Acceptable chicken kabab, rice and naan. the salad left something to be desired. Prices are right, atmosphere is great. I’m guessing they do a booming lunch business.

This is an awesome place! Get their beef kabobs. They are to die for! All their other food is also pretty darn good, but those kabobs are in a class of their own. Folks are also real friendly, so that is a definite plus. Also prices are relatively cheap. They do give a lot of rice, so I would recommend just ordering the sandwiches and kabobs by themselves.

If you want the most friendly service east of California, this is your spot. Proprieters and their daughters are kind, warm, and serve up some delicious grub. I went the mix kabob route. The chicken and kefta meat was fresh and juicy. The rice was addictive. I’ll pass on the ‘salad’ as it tasted a little stale and bland. Maybe you can sub the salad for something else? Their butter chicken was also tasty. Mango lassi was on the sweet side but still plenty tart. The portions are generous so if you’re not a big eater, and you’re getting a lassi, you might want to split a plate with your company. Easy little place to catch a quick delicious bite to eat and surround yourself in a small dose of Middle Eastern cafeteria kitsch.

Is it really named Curry n Kabob? Yes there’s a small sign outside the market but the paper menu says«Taza Grill.» I’m confused! I ordered the chicken shwarma which was very good. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the wrap was crispy and delicious. I recommend asking for it without the pickled peppers or have it cut up. I bit into one and got juice all over my face and running down my arm, no pun intended! It made for a very messy eating experience. I also tried the combo plate with beef and chicken kabobs. Both were wonderfully moist and flavorful! I also recommend ordering the mango lassi! For $ 2.95 it was so refreshing and delicious. One of the best lassi! I recommend doing take out since the space is extremely small and there’s about four or five small tables fit for two people. The owner is a very nice and cheery man but not at all helpful. I asked him to recommend a couple dishes since it’s my first time there and he said he would recommend everything. I asked again and he said everything is good! I understand you love your food but it’s not like I’m asking for a favorite child. Nevertheless very good food and a happy face greeting you is what matters :-)

Great place for meat items! It’s inside a convenient store, maybe that’s why a lot of people don’t know about it. We tried the beef and chicken kebabs. Unlike some other places, the kebabs were juicy and well cooked. The lady at the counter was very nice and well spoken. Also loved the mango Lassi(smoothie)!! I hear the Fallafel is pretty good too. Going back for sure

This place is pretty authentic tasting food. The service is pretty fast, the only real complaint is the space there is only for dining tables available. If you’re in downtown definitely check this place out

What a great little find in the middle of downtown SLC! I ordered the lamb kebabs combo plate. It comes with a half slice of naan, the basmati rice, small salad, Tzatziki sauce, and ranch for the salad. The meal was great and perfectly cooked. Lamb can be easy to screw up because it can get dry, tough, and flavorless pretty quick if not cooked right. They spice their lamb(in this case little lamb chops) with their savory spices then cook it medium well in the tandoor oven. The lamb came out flavorful and moist with that smoky accent the oven gives it. The rice was so moist and fluffy, colorful, and filling.(Not gobs of sticky rice or mounds of dry rice that I’ve had at other places) I would highly recommend it.

Visited SLC from Malaysia for 4Life convention and find this premise on search. Convenient to walk from city center. Ordered chicken Kobab with Mango Lasi. Fast service and beautiful lady cashier. Taste good worth for the price.

This place is near work, but hidden inside a convenience store! Unbeknownst to many wandering souls outside, this gem provides authentic, quality food(AND portion size) for a fair price($ 8 – 10 depending on what you get) and a nice smile! My friend actually talked me into it, as he wandered in one evening after work. When we went to grab our meals to-go, I was astonished at the size of the kabobs, the generous portion of ‘fireworks’ rice(my nickname for assorted colored rice), and the mini salad tossed in for visual aesthetics. Overall, very good! I felt full(coupled meal with lots of water and green tea) hours later, and I could still imagine the satisfying portion. I’ll be back Curry Falafel n’ Kabob! You can count on it!

I love this place. It’s tucked away in the back of a little convenience store but when the food comes out from behind that little counter, it’s awesome. Now I am but an infant in my journey into Indian food. I have been to a total of 6 or 7 different Indian places in the last 5 – 6 years and prior to that didn’t know the difference between Naan bread and Mango Lassi. However, one thing I have noticed is that it is very easy to blow $ 40 on a delicious Indian meal for two, not including beverages. Try that at this place and you will be too bloated to get out the door. Most dishes are in the $ 6 – 8 range and are more than I can eat in a sitting. Everything is reasonable and other than the very basic but clean surroundings, you wouldn’t know you aren’t at an upscale indian restaurant. I love this place.

Hole in the wall, hidden inside of a convenience store. Almost walked right by it. Found this little place by suggestions of Unilocal.Felt a little claustrophobic waiting for my lunch, as there’s only a few tables in this joint. Decided on the 2 kebob lunch. Came with a salad, with ranch dressing. Not my favorite, but not bad. The kebobs had plenty of flavor. I got the chicken and beef kebob lunch. There was pretty much enough food, to have 2 meals. I ate the rest for dinner. I’ll keep this place in mind, when I am in the mood for Middle Eastern on a budget.

What a pleasant change from the usual burgers and fast food options in the city. You need to walk through the convenience store to get to the café at the back. The staff are very friendly and will explain any menu items you are unsure about or make recommendations if you like. There are Afghan dishes in the form of handmade, spiced mince meat kebabs and wraps. A variety of Indian dishes are accompanied by rice, freshly made naan and raita for around $ 10 a meal. Vegetarians and vegans will find a few options as well. I ordered the Chicken Biriyani with accompanying veggie curry with freshly made naan, a side of a samosa(99c ea) + a mango lassi and it cost less that $ 15. The meal was enormous(as I knew it would be) so I took it back your our hotel and we shared it for lunch. Very filling, well spiced and enjoyable.
