I liked Bad Ass Coffee. I went this morning and ordered an iced vanilla latte. They have great service, their pastries were the usual Costco-sized muffins, and their employees seemed really happy. Also, I loved that their ice is made of coffee so it’s not really diluting any coffee flavor. The only downside was that their coffee was crazy sweet. I’ll still go back because it might have been an off-experience. But if they put in less sugar and had a little bottle of simple syrup to the side for those who want more, it might be better. In the end, I’d still come back.

First of all, go inside! It’s got a bunch of fun art on the walls and where else can you sip coffee by a palm tree in salt lake valley? Okay, the tree is fake, but the good vibes are real. We got a couple of they’re flavored iced lattes. They were pretty good but just flavored with the flavor shots like everywhere else. The cool part is the ice cubes are made of coffee though, so you don’t have to worry about the drink watering down.

Very good coffee and great customer service. The staff was very patient with me my first time going. My friend referred me to Bad Ass and order the Nutty Irishman, yet I couldn’t remember the name of the drink when I was in the drive-thru. The staff were super cool when I was trying to remember what it was called. The barista accidentally made more than a medium size, so instead of putting the excess down the drain(like other coffee places do) she gave it to me in a large cup.

As a SLC native, I’d never tried bad ass coffee until this morning but I am not impressed. Customer service was great! But my coffee… It was super overloaded with sugar and espresso. Once I got home and after trying so hard to down the first few sips, I added milk to my half-empty cup and it tasted much better. I ordered a medium sized caramel-vanilla iced latte. If it contained half the amount of flavoring and half the espresso to begin with, it would have been pretty perfect.

You can’t miss this coffee joint on state. It has a gigantic donkey in an alcove above the front door. The whole place looks like a tourist trap with the kitchy interior and branded merchandise, but the coffee is legit. They are known for using kona coffee for their drinks, hence the over top hawaiian interior. I got the snickerlicious on ice with an extra shot, and it was perfect! The drink was smooth, not burned, with the right amount of dark chocolate. Plus they pull their own shots, which is a huge plus when so many places have gone to auto pullers. I will return again, and recommend to anyone who wants a good cup of coffee.

I have never had a bad experience at Bad Ass Coffee and I have been going here for years. The coffee is always SOOO good! Hot, cold, or blended. I recommend the Nutty Irishman. It’s my favorite. They also have really delicious breakfast sandwiches! It’s my favorite place for coffee.

Mighty tasty coffee and pastries. Great atmosphere and the characters behind the counter make it a real hoot and a destination visit. Thanks for a good cup of joe!

We found this place on a road trip when we were looking for«not Starbucks please.» Out of the thousands of cups of coffee I’ve had in my lifetime I can definitively say that the Bad Ass Kona was the best by orders of magnitude. The folks here were genuinely friendly and not pretentious in the least.

Coffee was good. They made a good honey almond latte. BUT customer service was awful. One lady was not nice giving us our food. Just slammed our plate down.

Walked in and was greeted by a friendly staff member who gave great service the entire time. I got a chocolate and Carmel coffee and my friend got a vanilla and hazelnut and they both were delicious!

Exceeded expectations! Perfect sweetness to my latte. Some places go overboard with to much flavoring. Nice atmosphere.

I’ve lived in SLC5 years now, and I’m from Kona, HI, yet this is my first time coming here and I don’t know what took me so long! I stopped by to get a breakfast sandwich and Kona coffee. The sandwich was great and the coffee superb! The staff was friendly and quick. I also like that they use the square payment device on their own iPad and you can add a tip with the tap of your finger, which is nice for me, as I never carry cash. Can’t wait to return and bring my friends! Mahalo Bad Ass Coffee of SLC!

I’m new to Salt Lake so I’ve been working hard to find my favorite coffee place. After trying several shops, I realized Bad Ass was MY place. The baristas are cool, friendly and hard working. I also love the fact that they offer almond milk. Thanks for helping me feel at home, Bad Ass!

Great coffee, the best service. A wide variety coffee drinks, some excellent tea and great non coffee drinks(check out the creamossa). The iced coffee is amazing and doesn’t end up watered down because of the coffee ice they use. The atmosphere is great for relaxing and enjoying your delicious beverage.

This just maybe my new favorite coffee shop in Utah. I have probably been to about 80% of the coffee shops in Utah and the coffee here is absolutely delicious! It’s rich and flavorful. You can taste the quality. A few sips got me going and wired up. I had the iced white chocolate raspberry and it tasted similar to a Vietnamese iced coffee! The interior of this place is different from the typical hipster coffee shops in the city. It’s Hawaiian themed and you get a real islander feel! The barista was funny and friendly. Probably one of the coolest baristas. The location of this place is on the Main Street and there is plenty of parking in the parking lot so I don’t have to waste time driving around to look for parking. Definitely like this coffee shop so I would be coming back.

I haven’t reviewed them yet? Bizarre. Lived up the road for about 2 years and enjoyed many a Lava Java or Snickerlicious. These are amazing in the frozen blended style as a treat, or regular iced style, thanks to coffee ice cubes. LJ comes in a sugar free option for those who may need it. So do a lot of their other specialty recipes. Well, I can’t figure out how to connect to the wifi to be able to comment on its quality.

Their roasts are pretty dark but tasty. It’s located in a funky little nook next to a Mexican restaurant. The buristas are really fun and nice. Not a bad place to stop for a cup and to catch up with friends

Décor and the inside feel is really nice so that’s why this place gets a 3 star. It’s got a hawaiian/tropical feel and it’s nice when you want to try somewhere else different rather than a starbucks. Otherwise, I tried their smoothie since I’m not a coffee type. I would give their smoothie a 2 star. It’s pretty bad since it’s super syrupy with probably high fructose sugar, no real fruit added and just blended with ice. I couldn’t even down 1⁄3 and had to throw it away. It really was that bad. I haven’t tried their coffee or tea so have yet to comment on those.
